  1. I ran a speed test and visited a few other sites, everything is fine on my end. Is anyone else finding that pages are taking an extremely long time to load on GWRX?
  2. I actually wouldn't be opposed to that, as it would be the ultimate test of consistency.... ***sarcasm***
  3. No, I've thought that I have a plus handicap while virtually teaching myself how to swing a golf club. Not everyone needs traditional lessons. The two lessons I took were several years ago and taught me nothing more than I would have to figure out how to swing a golf club on my own. Not that I'm done learning, of course.
  4. I've only taken two lessons in my life and quickly discovered I need to figure out another way to learn how to play this game (and I've gotten pretty good at it). One reason was because I couldn't reconcile in my mind how to swing traditionally, and two I didn't appreciate the attitudes of the instructors. My question is, why is there such a high concentration of people in this game who seem to have issues with haughtiness?
  5. I didn't say it would guarantee a win, but it's a better gauge of who the better golfer is. And, in 2000 even though Tiger didn't win all the tournaments he played in, he managed to win more than anyone else... yes he won more than anybody else but he still lost more than he won Your point? It shouldn't be this difficult: If you think changing the format would stop the "lesser" golfer from winning, it won't, it never has and it never will. Tiger has been beaten by lesser golfers, more often than he's beaten them. That's just the nature of the game. So that's a big "no" to your
  6. So that you don't lose to a lesser golfer. It's the very reason tournaments are 4 days long, so that the golfer who's played the best and most consistent golf wins. The chatty, laid back setting played more into Phil's wheelhouse than Tiger's. There were plenty of 4 day tournaments back in 2000 where Tiger lost. He was clearly the best golfer in the world at that time. And yet, somehow, he managed to lose more than he won that year. To lesser golfers. And now he managed to lose to Phil - hardly the best guy out there these days. So.... I don't see how taking this to 2 days of medal

  9. Not bad lol.... Good on him. I can only imagine how irritating it must be answering the same questions (that have obvious answers) week in and week out... "So such and such, you had the lead at the end of 54 holes, going into Sunday and you shot 79 to finish tied for 12th. How do you feel about your round today and how would you access your overall final round performance?"....

  11. The way pro golf is (and has always been) designed is to reward the most consistent golfer. A one day match play event doesn't accomplish anything other than unfounded bragging rights. In your opinion, should future 1 on 1 events be at least two days and stroke play instead of match play?
  12. If you watched the entire match as I did, you heard Phil and Tiger making side bets as they went along. Does anyone think those 6 figure side bets were real? Or were they for the cameras? Assuming Phil and Tiger have 200k readily available and liquid, do you really think either of them were actually willing to pony that much dough up on a single hole for a side bet?
  13. This match made me feel nauseous, literally. Tiger's my favorite golfer of all time and Phil, one of my least favorite. Tiger was having a very off day, especially with his putting.
  14. I understand the mechanical differences between a driver and iron swing. For me, the more fairways I hit, the easier it is for me to hit greens. Maybe I should start keeping a better record of my fairway/GIR ratio. that doesn't matter. This year my fairways hit would've ranked me around 60th on tour but I was ranked 4th in GIR. Why? Because when I hit it 320 I usually missed the fairway but I was hitting SW into the green when most of my playing partners hit 8i or more. Yes being in the fairway certainly helps, but there's a point where you're so close to the green it doesn't matter. You sho
