  1. Yes i know your absolutely spot on regarding playing length and i think this is what everyone posting really has alluded to. I know my 44" shaft plays on the G410 at 44.75 and that seems my ideal but not sure as ive said if its a bit psychological now or actually that its a better fit being a bit shorter side. Just cant help but feel im leaving distance out there this way so was keen to see what others are doing
  2. So interesting to see this , I’m guessing when your all talking length your talking shaft length in some of the shorter cases and playing length in the longer ones I think should have asked you folks to clarify
  3. I get the driver playing length is going to differ somewhat due to how each manufacturer designs the head and hosel length , it would appear ping is around 3/4” longer in playing length so with my Oban shaft I’m 44.75 playing length compared to 45.75 with the standard ping shaft I guess for me I feel I’m giving up some yards potentially but wondered do others when being fitted ever get spec’d for length or is it swing as long a driver as you can control or do some not even give it a moments thought
  4. Hi All Something i guess over the years has always wondered.... I got fitted 5 years ago for driver shaft - Oban Iwasa Red 04 Flex tipped an inch to 44" End of Grip to adaptor. Purchased a new driver last year G410 SFT with the std tour silver 60g shaft at 45" EOG to adaptor. It may now be physclogical but i seem to struggle with a 45" shaft and newer drivers just seem to be getting longer and longer. I have the Oban now in the Ping and am happy and fairly consistent even if i do feel im leaving some yards out there and interestingly having just seen the latest TxG video on testing shaft length it got me wondering what is everyone playing in terms of driver length .... Are you buying off the rack and rolling with it , if your getting fitted is it something fitters are saying we need to go shorter / longer etc just keen to know There has always to me seemed to be this myth that tour average is like 44 / 44.5" anyone know if thats true ?? For ref im 5'10" so think i pretty much fit into the bang average height category here cheers all and stay safe

  6. The debate rumbles on.. just experiment I made the change from 54/60 a few years back to 50/54/58 or 62 but found I much prefer two wedges take out some of the choice ans confusion for me and find I commit to my shots better now play 52° bent to 50.5° and 58° jaws the bending of the 52 was mainly just to help with my gapping as wedge is 46 and 47 in either set I have trial and error and can’t advocate enough with the others that practice practice practice with your set up and it will come i May in theory only carry the 52/58 wedge combo but there’s often plays to be had for me at my course with little chipped bump an runs which I use 7 to PW for

  8. Ferrule options when buying a new set I’m not a club builder but love being able to customise just the option of some bbf&co ferrules on my new sticks would be fab even if oems just gave one alternative option to std black ones I’d also like to see lifts rather than numbers on the club become a thing
  9. So just prior to lockdown whole bag refresh cobra Sz driver Ventus Black hmb 5&6 mp20 MMC 7-PW amt white x100 jaws 52&58 wedges since lockdown sold an m6 driver purchased a backup st190g atmos tour spec eying up an old Adams super 9031 on eBay and got my first bit of Tyson lamb swag just a marker but feel this could end badly ! stay safe everyone
  10. @capking my home track is only par 66 5600 yd’s so the 3 and 4 iron aren’t really ever in play much how have you got on with the split in them
  11. Set of Mizuno MP-33's played one round , i think i managed to hit all of them including the 4 iron i can still feel reverberating up my arms. I got drawn into the shiny how amazing they look before i knew much about irons. Picked them up from shop saturday, played sunday , back in shop sunday PM to swap for some MP60's that i never should have sold ! you live an learn huh !
  12. Bit the bullet and decided to upgrade from my JPX 900T combi set of HMB and MMC MP20 incoming Went 5 and 6 in the HMB and 7-PW in the MMC. In truth i could probably game either full HMB or MMC but think the above is a smart combo, bit of extra help in the long irons and transitions nicely into the scoring irons. Off an 11 index im sure some would argue the MMC are too much club but you also have to like what your looking down on and the feel is better than the JPX's i have IMO I know there is likely to be a newer JPX920 released soon but I at least feel have best of both worlds with the 900T's going into the back up bag. Interestingly having a shaft change going back to a TT shaft rather than the KBS ctaper. Will post a bit of feedback on them when they arrive and ive had them in play a little Signature to be updated soon !
