  1. I inquired about Basking Ridge and also have played the course. Was not a big fan of the course overall and was not a fan of the driving range. I ended up joining Forsgate and this is my second season there. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a DM. I also live in Jersey City, and it only takes me 35-40 minutes to get to Forsgate.
  2. I reached out last July....send me a DM i have the brochure
  3. Thanks! I had the 2018 pricing as well, but i was informed there was new ownership and pricing has changed. (Not sure how accurate that is) Someone also mentioned they onboarded a lot of new members in 2020 and annual dues dropped significantly. Not entirely sure how true this is, so was looking to confirm
  4. Hey All, Does anyone have any pricing information on Forest Hills Field Club in Bloomfield NJ? I have been in contact with the membership director and they are not willing to discuss pricing over the phone/email and would like me to come in. Unfortunately I am unable to get there in person due to work. If anyone has any information they can share please let me know. I happen to have pricing on a bunch of clubs in the area as well. Thanks in advance!
  5. The club head is open at the top and as well at impact, so the ball is going to go to the right. Work on closing the club head at address and do a few punch shots. Then slowly start to turn the punch shots into fuller shots.
  6. I would recommend ACCC. I've played both courses, but prefer to play ACCC
  7. I’ve had this issue before in the past, I should check to see if I’m doing this again. Appreciate the post!
  8. No swing change, and when working with the Pro he didn't change my swing, just alignment. Appreciate the response!
  9. So I'm 29 years old and been hitting my irons pretty well. All of a sudden after a normal round I've had, I went out the next day and noticed a huge drop in my iron distance. For example, 7-iron usually is good for 170-175 yards. I had about 172 yards left after my drive on hole #1. I take out the 7 iron and hit it flush, and am about 15 yards short of the green. Next thing I know, this is with all of my irons. Lost about 15-20 yards on all irons. This has been going on for the last 5 months or so. Just wondering if anyone else has experience anything similar? My driver I didn't notice a drop in distance though. I've been taking a few lessons, and my instructor didn't notice anything totally out of whack. Made a few minor changes and still experiencing the same issues.
  10. Forsgate Country Club....I joined last July and love it. They also have a pool as well. Feel free to shoot me a DM.
  11. I have a buddy who just started lessons on the GolfTec in Englewood which is close by for you.
  12. > @mkunes01 said: > @Max21 @gioguy21 more data less drama lol.. I joined New Jersey National this year, and all in its $5k/year with no food min and you can walk any time so no cart fees unless you want. If you're under ~30, then Stanton Ridge is less than 4k (~3,600 when I was there in 2016, I paid ~2800 for under 27) but you do have a small food minimum. Don't know how much Stanton has increased their rates in the three years since but can't imagine itd be drastic. I heard a rumor Montclair is 3k for certain age brackets (plus unknown "minimal" initiation) but I personally cant verify that. Might be an invite only type deal. Last time i checked into the crystal package it was 6k but doesnt really include ballyowen and the rest of the courses are trash/slammed with people and always slow rounds. > > Other clubs i know 100% are around or below 4k (some semiprivates in here and some significantly under 4k) would be Glenwood, Fox Hollow, Knoll, Royce Brook, High Bridge Hills > > If you're in NW NJ I would suggest lake mohawk for proximity; I've heard they're offering a good deal rn but no idea what it is. Either way 100% better then newton cc which still has a hefty initiation somehow despite **** golf, food, service, 150 yard range... If you're willing to drive a little bit and consider NJ National shoot me a message and I'll hook you up with our membership director. I just got info on Montclair and it is well over 5k for their lowest membership.......I was pretty excited readying this haha
  13. > @mkunes01 said: > I think Knickerbocker is probably the only other one within 30-45 minutes that will fall into the 5-10k budget. Forest Hill potentially, but no reason to join there over Knickerbocker IMO. Its super nice and all but I just feel the course just isn't quite worth the price tag. I joined NJN earlier this year and am loving it. Feel free to reach out with any questions or give a shout when you come out for a preview day and maybe we can swing the sticks. If you don't care about not being allowed to play mornings or club tournaments I think Essex County has a "Tier C" membership that is in your range without an initiation. If you don't care about a 10-15k initiation fee, Hamilton Farm would fall into your budget at around 7-8k/year but you have to take carts/caddies pretty much all the time, etc. Phenomenal place though. Technically Upper Montclair quotes themselves as in that budget but in reality it'll be a good bit more expensive after all their add on expenses. Last one I would suggest checking out is Green Brook Country Club. Okay golf course in awesome shape always and a great staff. Idk what their initiation is currently but dues should be in your bucket. Definitely will hit you up if I check out NJN.....I definitely prefer early tee times so Essex County wouldn't work. Hamilton Farm is that cheap? I thought for sure it was on the higher end? Heard back from Upper Montclair yesterday and they are way out of the range.

We are 27-28 years old and figured it is time to join a club with the amount of time/money we already spend. Colonia CC is running a great deal at the moment for people our age, but I was wondering what else was out there and if anyone could point me in the right direction.....I have sent emails to New Jersey National Golf Club, Morris County Golf Club and Forest Hills FC. Any others that might be worth getting in talks with? I appreciate any help! > > Although I do not live in the area, I have played many clubs in that area. > First question is what is your budget as far as all in monthly dues and initiation fee? > Second, are you looking for just golf or do you want other amenities such as pool or tennis? > Third, how far are you willing to drive, Uber, Train? > > Morris County Golf Club is an excellent course. It is not overly long based on today's golf courses, but it emphasizes ball placement. It is a beautiful track. Driving range is large and you hit down a hill, which is different. Dues and initiation will be on the higher side. Plus, you may have to take a caddy or forecaddie before a certain time of day, which can range from 40-80 per round or more. Also, it is a club in which you need quite a few sponsors, however, if you reach out, they will probably introduce you to a membership committee and other members. I am guessing most of the members there will not be in your age group, but I could be wrong. > > New Jersey National is also an excellent course. Is it as nice and prestigious as Morris County? No. But you get a nice golf course and practice facility. It is just golf and the restaurant is open to the public. However, you can walk the course at any time at no additional fee. It is longer than Morris County, but the dues are very reasonable and I do not recall them having an initiation fee. Plus, you get reciprocal privileges at a few other courses, including Pine Barrens, in Ocean County, which is another excellent course. If you come down to the shore for a weekend(s), you can golf there. > > I have not played Colonia in at least 10 years but I remember it being a nice facility. They have done a lot of renovations over the years to the clubhouse. The course I recall being nice and like Morris County, not very long by today's standards. > > I have not played Forest Hill but visited the place. The clubhouse is great and had a great group of guys in various age ranges. The mens locker room had its own bar along with a shuffleboard table as well. > > A few other options I would consider are Metuchen Golf & Country Club in Edision, Knickerbocker Country Club in Tenafly & Suburban Golf Club in Union. > > The good thing about joining a club in the 27-28 range is that a lot of clubs have dues tiered based on age. Shop around, explore and find the club that is right for you and your buddies. > > If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to DM or reach out to me in this post. I appreciate the response....This was very helpful. We all have cars so transportation is not an issue. We would like to keep it within 30-45 minutes. Our budget is flexible, but to satisfy everyone in the 5-10k range. I have heard back from NJ National and they sent me over details which seems very reasonable. I played Colonia last week and the course was in pretty good shape...need to be accurate as fairways are somewhat narrow. I will check out Metuchen, Knickerbocker and Suburban. I appreciate your response!
