  1. 1. Did you fill out the survey? YES 2. How can the ESB1 help your game? It will really help me dial in distance and improve my consistancy 3. Do you currently own a launch monitor? No, I wish i did
  2. In a post below tell us who is your nearest authorized dealer? Club Champion Pittsburgh PA Why are you excited to hit the Speeder NX shaft? The profile seems like a great fit for my swing. I would be really excited to give this shaft a try. What flex and weight Speeder NX shaft do you want to win? 60 Stiff
  3. Another vote for Apex. The 21 apex are so easy to hit and the dispersion was much better. I only got a chance to hit p790's in bay but i was still having same problem as all previous gen p790 in that some shots while not being stuck much different tends to lose ALOT of spin and goes well beyond intended target. I have had the apex 21s for a while now and have not had 1 shot like that yet.
  4. Finding the best shaft is the hardest part of finding irons that will be great for him. If he gets into right shaft weight and profile i think he will like whatever irons he chooses granted he doesnt go for a blade. The other important factor often overlooked is also picking a head that has a sole design that will work best with his swing and getting the right lie angles.
  5. 1. City, State? Pittsburgh, PA 2. Handicap? 11 3. Current Iron set? 2021 Callaway Apex / Modus 105 S shafts / 2 degrees flat 4. Are you right-handed or left-handed? Right Handed 5. Why do you want to review the Takomo 201 irons? My ball striking has really improved over the this season and these irons look beautiful and would love to give them a try. 6. Do you agree to participate in an ongoing testing thread, posting reviews and photos? Yes
  6. Im 5'7" so i play a shorter shaft. 44.5" playing length. I swing faster and hit ball further with 44.5 rather than stock lengths. My contact with anything at 45" and over is really bad and i get dispersion issues. I always thought longer shafts were supposed to increase club head speeds but for some reason im the opposite. I swing the shorter shafts faster with better contact.
  7. Depends on the design but they most likely have different toe hang. Plumbers neck are usually moderate toe hang for slightly arching stroke where most slant necks have more toe hang for more arching strokes.
  8. Youll love the apex 21 long irons. They are so easy to hit. Irons are usually my biggest weakness. The apex 21 6 iron is so easy to hit. You can hit it almost anywhere on the face and it wants to go high and pretty straight. I hit one so far out on the toe and low and ball flight was still great and landed on green maybe 8 - 10 yards shorter than if I smoked one. Im not hitting the PW and AW as well as I want just yet but im still hitting greens with them at least. Im about 5 rounds in with them in live conditions and multiple range sessions on grass and turf. Ive purposely hit tons of balls a groove low and low on face, how they maintain consistant ball speed and spin to where its very playable is remarkable. Im 39 and this is my 5th year golfing. I shoot low to mid 80's and have had a bunch of 9 holes in the 30's but ive never had a full round in the 70's yet. If you get along with wider soles I think the DCB's will probably be a great option as well. I myself find I hit wide soles ok on turf but in real world conditions I just dont get along with them very well. The apex 21 sole is very similar to the cf16s but the top line looks a little boxier to me. The DCB top line was just a little too big for my liking and in the longer irons you can start to see the back peeking out which I dont like to see at address. Im always tinkering and love the look of the new apex hybrids and ive been tempted to just buy them and give them a try but my epic flash hybrids are so good im not sure how the apexs could be much of an upgrade.
  9. The CF16's were one of my favorite irons I ever played but did sell due to flyers. The Apex 21 are everything I wanted the CF16's to be. I did have flyers with the CF16's, none with the Apex 21. Those shots a little low on the face now retain spin and still fly at a good trajectory. The Apex 21 is the most forgiving Apex so far for me. The turf interaction with the CF16's was def my favorite ever. The apex 21's are very similar to the CF16's in this regard. The Apex 21 to my eye are stockier and stubbier than the CF16. The CF16 AW was my favorite AW of all time, the 21's is where i think i maybe should went with 21 pros 8-AW. The apex 21 PW and AW look kind of stubby and a little thicker than I would ideally like in those clubs, its really not bad just not quite what i like. If you liked the CF16's I would think you will love the 21's.
  10. Ordered regular apex 21 on sat. It updated to being boxed up for shipping last night so should be shipping soon. Modus 105 S shafts and tour velvet align grips. If you dont see any updated timeframe I would call them and make sure shafts or grips are not on backorder as I have heard certain grips or shafts could hold up order.
  11. I've never played the 0211 so I couldn't speak on them but I didn't have any issues with distance consistency with the p's. Apex cf 16 and epic forged were the 2 sets of irons I felt I never knew what distance they would go because I would get some real hot ones with both of those irons. Haven't had any issues with distance consistency other than these 2 sets.
  12. Honma tw-x irons. Very forgiving. Medium top line. Very easy to hit and have the consistency you are looking for. Also pxg gen 2 or gen 3 p model. Hide the size well and also fit the bill for what you are after. Forgiving and consistent. If you like harder face get gen 2. If you like a super soft feel get gen 3.
  13. So in recap 18 k of actual shots hit is BS, but some board member you dont know stated he worked with them and they may not be as objective as they say and thats gospel. I had to read this twice to realize that you were actually serious.
  14. I went from Ping glide 3.0 eye2 to a Honma TW-W4 wedge and im chipping better than ever now. Only have a few rounds in with it but it seems very versatile so far.
  15. Callaway Epic flash hybrids for me. Went through and tried almost all of them, suprised the epic flash werent more popular as they are super long and forgiving. Hit easy baby draws all day with them. Not hook machines like alot of hybrids. The PXG hybrids and Ping hybrids were also very good just not quite as good as the epic flash.
  16. How so? Pretty soon people will be able to buy them for something around 149$ per club new. Anybody that bought the gen 3's for 300 a club shouldent be too excited that they wont even be able to recoup half of what they spent a year ago.
  17. I doubt it would not be stock, it's how he's delivering club to the ball. The avg golfer has a review up and he spun them over 5000 with a 45 degree decent angle. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=q8W25p3Xf6E
  18. I agree but when im testing irons decent angle is more important to me than spin. As a high ball hitter i dont need irons that spin a ton, i focus more on decent angle and have not yet run into any issues holding firm or fast greens. Having said that I can say there is no way with my swing that my spin numbers / decent angle would be that low as this chart. Me hitting these irons i would guess would spin at least 5000. This chart above is a bad example as these irons are clearly not suited to the player that got those numbers.
  19. Everybody not liking these numbers but they got me excited. I launch irons way too high and i spin them too much. I recently have found stronger lofted low spin irons seem to help me score better. These irons certainly wont work for the guy above with that decent angle he wont hold greens. I expect my decent angle to be much higher for my swing. I went from "meh" to now im contemplating ordering right now without even hitting them first. At 115 an iron + 39 for shaft upgrade on all of them its at the right price to at least get put in the backup bag.
  20. Didn't like the original sim at all. This sim 2 max looks right up my alley. Currently game a mavrik max which is the best driver I've ever hit but with weight in back it launches too high and with weight in heel I get myself in quite a bit of trouble and it draws huge if I don't put a good swing on it. But with mav max if I take what feels like a nice easy swing it's a faiway machine that's just as long as anything else out there. I like that the sim 2 max keeps some weight upfront and closer to heel but not all the way in the heel. This is exactly what I've been looking for and can't wait to give it a try. Plus I don't think the sim is hideous. The blue should go nicely with the tour ad hd shaft I got coming to me now. The most important thing is how it will look at address for me. The rad is the only driver I find to be hideous, but if my numbers are best with the rad I'd buy it without hesitation. The sim 2 and new apex irons got me pretty excited for upcoming releases.
  21. Says the dude that makes the off topic reply. My responses were on the topic of rahm moving to Callaway in the rahm to Callaway thread. One of us is discussing the topic of the thread and one of us is not. Guess which one you are? Have a great day. Stay blessed
  22. I could care less what you play or what rahm plays. Lol this blind assumption really got me on hot water!! Oh no what will I do now that some random wanker on a message board may be upset that I may or may not assumed what he might play. What am I going to do?? I have played pretty much everbodys equipment. I have Callaway, tm, honma, and ping in bag currently. Not sure why you feel it's important to say how "diverse" your bag is or my bag may be. You just come off as "hurt" that people suggested that if rahm plays well with Callaway that it does nothing for Callaway. I just disagreed with that and you have had holier than thou responses ever since then. Lol. You keep harping on these same things like they are facts buts it's not black and white. The part about Phil is so nonsensical I don't even know where to begin. The facts are, since you care so much, Callaway dominated the market at that time and was #1 in wood sales for the whole late 90's and early 2000's. That's an actual fact. That was before Phil even won a major. When Phil was winning majors you act like Callaway wasn't doing well. They were generally #1 in sales those years https://callawaygolf.gcs-web.com/news-releases/news-release-details/callaway-golf-no-1-us-wood-sales-retail-sixth-straight-year-also It's proving my point that having Phil at that time was moving clubs for them. That's the way marketing works. Tiger no doubt boosted graphite design di sales back in the day. It became one of the most popular shafts of all time. Not many would have even tried it if tiger wasn't gaming it. Fujikura is having huge success on tour with ventus and it's reflecting that in sales. There are examples on each side. Will Callaway live and die based on rahms results with their clubs? No. But nobody is saying that to begin with. If rahm wins 2 majors this year with Callaway I will guarantee you Callaway stuff will fly off the shelves. Your comprehension of ehat I'm saying in severely lacking. You keep comparing rahm to all time greats for some reason, I have no clue how this supports your argument because it makes no sense. Callaway signed rahm because he's one of the best in the game. Will his career be as good as tigers or phils, maybe not, but I'm not sure why you are saying he has to be to be successful with callaway. Also saying your opinion as a fact doesn't change what an actual fact is. Callaway has been at the top of sales for a majority of years in the last 2 decades. So they have been a world beater in sales quite literally. That entire last paragraph was almost entirely your OPINION and you ended with facts are frowned upon. Facts do not even support your opinion on your argument. I'm still laughing at that. So as I said earlier...go take a nap. You need one grouchy pants.
  23. Seems to be a working pretty good for Taylormade right now. I never said people would buy everything Callaway for the rest of their life just because of rahm. They signed rahm because he is one of the best players in the world and if he wins a bunch of tournaments with their clubs it will only raise their profile as the perceived "best" clubs to the audience they are selling products to. There aren't many in tigers class, but rahm could be world #1 at some point again in 2021. He's not some scrub. Ok so yep Casey and horsfield are already playing tm clubs. I said nothing about pr. It's rumored it's a englishman that's not high profile that is also with nike. Those are the 2 guys that fit that profile the best. One post rahm is a nobody compared to tiger and rory. The next post he's the irreplaceable tm guy #2 player in the world. Make up your mind. I think we're seeing the trend here. Just can't tell if your a tm fanboy, a Callaway hater, or a rahm hater. Sounds like all 3. I think you might have missed you nap today. You seem a little grouchy.
  24. Got to disagree. This may have been true a long time ago but not what I'm seeing today. Dudes these days even know what shafts they got now. More and more people are getting fitted these days and are more aware of most of their equipment. I'm pretty sure fujikura sold a crap ton of ventus because of how popular it got on tour. If rahmbo plays lights out and say wins multiple majors this year with Callaway...it will generate more interest in what clubs he plays. It's human nature.
