2.
Getting ready to custom order Titleist AP2. I'm thinking about not ordering a PW. I have Vokey 52 & 56. My thought process is since I feel these wedges are the best on the market, why wouldn't I play a Vokey PW as well. So, my question to you guys is.... How many people play a Vokey or Cleveland or brand XYZ that is different from your set? Also, if my thinking is flawed, please insert your opinion as of why I should just get the AP2 PW. Thanks, Lexluther18
If you mainly play full shots with your PW, get the
  3.
It is a good time to discuss my opinion of Rickie Fowler. I think this guy is a great golfer, kudos to the win last week. That was a difficult course and he conquered it. I think the game needed a fresh outlook on style and individuality BUT it did not need what Rickie Fowler advertises. As a young golfer who would normally pick up on new trends rather fast I believe the neon color schemes, and the flat bill hats that Puma is producing is a sad front for the game of golf. I see golf as a traditional game, where a neon orange outf

    Mizuno demo Day
Maybe your swing was a little off? Because those irons are buttery in all aspects. Although Luke did switch to the 59 this year...ill be curious to see others reply to this!
Absolutely no disrespect intended to Mizuno. I'm curious to see others reply as well... I feel a bashing is coming. As for missing the sweet spot, I did hack out a round of 70 after the demo with my MacGregor MT Pro-M.
  5. DisappointedA little background. I must say I love blades and I collect clubs. I have kept every blade I have ever owned except a set of 1 - SW Cleveland 485 Beryllium Copper that I would give anything to have back. On the other hand, I only have 3 sets of cavity backs in my collection. My blades include many sets on Wilson Staff, MacGregor, Spalding, Ram, Powerbilt, Hogan, Cleveland, Daiwa and Miura but I have never owned a set of Mizunos. A local club had a Mizuno Demo Day today and I went to try out the fantastic looking MP-69. Honestly the only Mizunos I have ever hit were the MP-14 &

I think the heads are 8 years old and the shafts are < 2 months.
not sure this is what hte OP meant by "old." i know, it's ancient by WRX standards. but i think he was going more for the "classic" blade question.
Correct.
I have a set, 3-SW, of old TM Tour Preferred blades from the mid '80s...I drilled out the tapered hosels to parellel and have Apollo Spectre light shafts in them....put all the swing weights right at D-3...Awesome set up....I use them with Louisville Golf persimmon driver,3 wd, 5 wd.......only in good weather when I am feeling a bit "Old School"
I did and do the same. Drilled out some Powerbilt Citations and put TT Black Gold x-100's soft stepped in. My "old school" woods are Cleveland Classic TC-15's and they are great

    How many woods?
I play Driver, 4 wood (16.5*) and then 2 iron, 4-PW and carry 3 wedges (50, 54, 58). Even though the gap between my 4 wood and 2 iron is larger I really don't find myself needing to fill that gap very often and not nearly as often as filling the wedge gap and being able to play different shots around the green with the extra wedge.
Very similar to me. What is your yardage for your 4W & 2I?

  19.
Nice one, good idea to split your round today up into small chunks of three holes, set an attainable target for each chunk of three, like 1 under, and then play 6 3 hole rounds. Helps keep your mind off of the round as a whole or winning the tournament. Easier said than done though. Make sure you stick to your same pre-round routine as well, range, putting green, etc. Hope it goes well.
Great advice.
  20. Funny thread. I know guys that hit it300+ regularly and I know those that think they hit it 300, there isa big difference. Many will hit the occasional 300 yarder along withthe necked 220, toed 240, slightly off 260 and inevitable 100 ydpop-up. But yes, they can hit it 300. Heck, tons of people hit it300... 230 out + 70 right = 300.
  21. For those that have this driver, howdoes it set-up? Is it square, open or shut, at address?

Normally this time of the year courses here in the Lowcountry look a little strained because of the heat but this year we've had plenty of rain and conditions are pretty lush, comparitively speaking.
Thanks, I know early Sept. may not be the best time, but will play HT every chance I get.
  24. Anyone played it recently?I am going to be playing Harbor Town in a couple weeks and was wondering if anyone has played recently and can comment on the condition of the course. Thanks
