  1. Now I'm wondering if that T K 60 degree wedge is from Tom Kite. I just found this quote from him:
  2. The FG-17s have become one of my go to blades of choice. I used them more than any other iron in my collection this summer (3x) and every time I did, I played some of my best golf including equaling my best round ever at 72. With the recent 1 iron purchase, I have 1-SW and picked up a 60 degree tour blade wedge that I've never seen before. The non-fg tour blades were from an era that I wouldn't have expected a 60 degree wedge, so I'm at a loss as to what I purchased but it's close enough to the design of the FG-17 that I'm as pleased as can be with the purchase. Hosel and ferrule are a direct match for the FG-17 set.
  3. Very generous of you. I just picked up a lovely FG-17 1 iron off of ebay on Saturday and it arrived today. It's in stunningly good shape and really can't wait to hit it since the 2 iron has become one of my favorite long irons I've ever hit.
  4. The irons arrived and I swear they look even better in person than the pics indicated. One of the best looking sets of irons I own.
  5. Those persimmon woods are stunning. I think they had a "Golden Eagle" series of irons, so it looks like two of your woods are a match for that. Do you play them?
  6. Back around 1986/87, my grandpa's best friend took me out golfing for the first time and I used his clubs. Well before thinking of buying any vintage clubs, I've wanted to find a set of these. Recently, they popped up on FB marketplace and I jumped at the opportunity. These are in far better shape than I could have hoped for and much better than the clubs I learned on 33-34 years ago. A little side note, these were owned by former LPGA player, Kathy Postlewait. They belonged to her dad. Part of the deal was her woods, a set of Toney Penna and Titleist persimmon fairway woods, 3/4/5 in each. Will post pics of them later.
  7. Most definitely not. Payment is on the way. Thank you again!
  8. 1. City and State? Washington, Michigan (Detroit Metro Area) 2. Handicap? 10 3. Where do you practice? Public range 4. Have you used a personal launch monitor before? I have used others and have a Garmin on order. 5. Do you have a current iOS device to use with the Ernest software? Yes 6. Do you agree to take high quality photos, write an in-depth review, and be part of an on-going testing thread? Of course.
  9. Xander Dobreff, who is pretty active in the one armed golf and hickory golf communities made one that he really likes.
  10. David is a golf pro/coach who also does vintage club restorations in addition to producing new persimmons based on classic designs. This one is a copy of a MacGregor M09T.
  11. I often play Duo Softs. There is a "soft" maxfli that I also like. To be honest, I'm not too particular. Pro V1s, Chromesofts, Supersofts, Bridgestone BRXS, all get played.
  12. Absolutely. I've got a dozen or so old Persimmons with steel shafts. Wanted to try a modern twist on a modern persimmon.
  13. I had him install a graphite shaft, I assume it’s a .335. UST proForce 85.
  14. Just arrived from David and it’s lovely.
