  1. How does lower CG "increase the face area area where we can take advantage of vertical gear effect for lower spin numbers"? My understanding is lower CG's 'gear' impact would be to increase spin, not lower it.
  2. City, State? Sunnyvale, CA 1. Handicap? 4.8 2. Current hybrid? 7 Wood 3. What is important to you in a hybrid? Tee and Fairway performance 4. Why do you want to review the Cobra KING Tec Hybrid? The TXG review showed how adjustable it is, I would be looking to do something similar to what they did, and look to set toe weight and open to protect left miss5. Do you agree to participate in an ongoing testing thread, posting reviews and photos? Yes
  3. I see both in the Tour forum, wonder what the difference is.
  4. I see people applying for both in the Tour forum, what's the difference?
  5. 1. City, State? Sunnyvale, CA 2. Handicap? 5.0 3. Current hybrid or fairway wood? Ping G425 Max 4. Why do you want to test the Callaway Epic Super Hybrid? Love my new Epic Max LS driver and would like to see how that technology works in the hybrid. 5. Do you agree to take high quality photos, write an in-depth review, and be part of an on-going testing thread? Yes
  6. Congrats! Hoping I can get some of your good luck for the Cobra hybrid contest announcement
  7. 1. Must subscribe to Club Champion's YouTube channel HERE Done 2. Search for your local Club Champion location HERE Done 3. What Club Champion location would you get fit at? Danville CA, San Carlos CA, or the upcoming San Jose CA store 4. Have you been fit for clubs before? Yes, at Club Champion for my Irons 5. What part of your bag could use a fitting? Driver, Woods, Wedge, and Putter. Irons fit at Club Champion already, the rest of my bag is from self fitting with stock setups, it would be great to properly fit the rest.
  8. If you have a set you like, with proper gapping, regardless of what number is stamped on the club face, it doesn't matter. But answer to your question is simply yes. CG moving, higher launch, faster faces, spin consistency from iron to iron... there are lots of explanations given. But it's just ego, an when you're in the bay hitting one 7 iron and it goes 10 yards further, the further one is more likely to be purchased.
  9. My experience finding a shaft for Epic Max LS below with SS around 105. This was just my results, but take it as you will. I did a fitting at Club Champion for a driver, and got fit into a Ventus Black shaft, both the Epic Max LS and TSi3 were giving me about the same results, getting out to about 280. I've attached a summary of what kind of results I was seeing. I ended up not pulling the trigger for a couple reasons: - I didn't think I swing fast enough for a Ventus Black but he insisted it was correct - The fitter was not super open to trying stuff he didn't pick out for some odd reason - The total cost was almost 1k for a driver So I went to a fitting van at PGA superstore. I had heard they jack their simulator distances so I hit some 8 irons that were flying about 145 which is my 8 iron number so I felt it was reasonable. But note these numbers are foresight and the CC data was trackman. Anyway, at PGA I was once again getting a bunch of results at about 280 but then tried the Max LS with MMT 70 X Flex shaft (this is one of their stock non-upcharge options), and I saw my average go up to 289 and it just clicked and felt great. Some of those numbers also attached. I did end up pulling the trigger on the Epic Max LS with the non-upcharge MMT 70 X flex shaft. For me it was eye opening that the stock Epic Max LS shaft could give me such good results and that I almost poured an extra several hundred dollars into something like Ventus just because it's "aftermarket" which does not mean it's better. So again, for me at least, the stock shafts were pretty much optimal and I think Callaway did a good job matching the Max LS with stock shaft offerings.
  10. I agree, it is a great club. Mine has a Penley 75 shaft. In my 3W I have a gold colored shaft, but I don't think it's the same Fuji you mention, it's just labeled "Cleveland Launcher Gold 65". Just did a fitting and it will be replaced with a Callaway Epic Max LS 9 degree with MMT 70 shaft.
  11. Thank you for opening this up to the community. I am in the middle of a transition from 2-PW irons, to adding more woods and hybrids. I went to 3 wood, 5 wood, 7 wood and a hybrid is next on the list to fill the gap from 7 wood to 5 iron.
  12. Not specific to Srixon, but I ordered a different vendor's irons on May 2nd, and they didn't arrive just recently - almost 4 months - due to delays on C-Taper 130X shafts for the 9-PW. At one point I contacted KBS directly just asking how long delays were for the 130X (not specific to my order) and they gave a vague response about having none available and working on it. But it just seems the 130X is pretty backordered across the board.
