  1. Nope it's fair! Product of the whack a mole mindset I discussed above... I've put out feelers to go get lessons.
  2. @milesgiles thank you for the response... I'm putting out feelers for lessons at the range you see. You and others are clearly giving off vibes that this is deeply ingrained. In your opinion, would "your hip turn completes too early and is out of sync" be the number one thing to focus on? And if so... any good drills or feels for the next TEN THOUSAND balls?
  3. Brief range session tonight thinking only of getting my trail hip rotated and tilted... I had some pretty good contact + accuracy with my irons. Driver was a bit squirrley but oh well. It's amazing (in a have to laugh about it to avoid crying sort of way ) as I'm looking at this video the other stuff I was fixated on before this trail hip focus starts to creep back in (lead arm adducted too deep, across the line and over the top). But I will consider it a good range session based on what I think that trail hip is trying to do now!
  4. I can tell you put a lot of thought into a response... thank you!
  5. Thank you! I'll show you a video from August where I would argue the takeaway was better, but like I said in an earlier post the hands were way too deep. So maybe we're looking for a blend of the August and October videos?
  6. Omg haha where's my dunce cap? @MonteScheinblum I'm actually right hright-handed... these are taken in selfie mode. So are you really referring to my trail (right) hip? Sorry for the confusion and I really appreciate you weighing in.
  7. Thanks! It's just that "it's gonna get worse before it gets better" hurdle that I have to man up and get over.
  8. Thank you for taking the time to respond... what are you thinking will be the benefit with this? I would be hesitant to mess with tempo like that but I am probably missing something! So are we thinking the knee needs to move internally as opposed to outward? And will that automatically help the hips move appropriately? Thanks so much Monte... big fan! Can't disagree at all... thank you. Pushing the left hip back... can you elaborate? Do you mean rotate it more clockwise? "Back" to me just paints some sort of reverse C picture. Thanks again!
  9. Hi guys! Posted this in the Swing Videos section and figured I would give it a go here too... Frequent lurker, first time poster... I'm one of those who tweaks and tweaks here and there (stance, grip, the youtube swing tip du jour guaranteed to cure X). But it always seems like 1 step forward 2 steps back. Especially with driver... snap hooks or mad right balls are pretty common, and I couldn't hit a fade if you held a gun to my head. Just for gits and shiggles, I'll tell you the main swing thought I've had. I've been trying to lift the arms up more during the backswing. A couple months ago, at first parallel my hands were way too deep behind me, leading to across the line and no choice but to sling it over the top. Comparing yesterday to today I think I did do a better job of getting the hands higher but I know that takeaway is SUPER DUPER outside. You could say I should sink my two days (and no doubt many more, but at least I usually have a whack a mole swing thought it mind so it's not totally aimless!) worth of buckets into some lessons, and I probably wouldn't disagree. Many many thanks for whatever help you can provide!
  10. I appreciate it guys... I did take lessons a few years ago and they did help (distinctly remember takeaway being one of the lessons!) but I find it very hard to mentally commit to the humbling steps back and bad shots you have to suffer through before something clicks. Horrendous excuse I know... FWIW, here's two more videos today. Trying to focus on getting those hands higher and not so far across. I feel like it was quite successful with the 7 iron. But again that takeaway is way too far outside no doubt. If it's not obvious with two days in a row of range sessions, I can definitely be a bit of a ball beater (keeping one of my whack a mole topics like hands-high backswing in mind at least so not totally aimless!), and that money would probably be better sunk into another session of lessons.
  11. I will also add that I reviewed that driver swing on the range and it looked like I was early extending pretty badly. I hit a few more afterwards with the thought of keeping that tush back more. Contact and direction was way better, but again, who knows if it'll be something I can keep up consistently. Ok I'll shut up!
