  1. I have no loyalty to TM. I have some to Ping if anyone because they’re here in Phoenix and I have some very good friends that work there. With that out of the way, I don’t see any reason to expect higher than normal ball speeds/distances/smash factors most of the time. Perhaps only on some off center hits where the Stealth may retain more optimal launch conditions than my current 425 Max. Maybe. @SMUGamer, to your point about not yet seeing any benefit to the carbon face…well…maybe. Some people are (or seem to be) seeing some increased ball speeds (which I’m chalking up to a slight increase in forgiveness). Instead of being skeptical as some people are, I see it as reasonably possible. We know that manufacturers finding ways to save weight in some areas and redistribute it with purpose can help increase forgiveness and help optimize launch conditions. If they saved weight from the face and redistributed it, it’s reasonable to expect some positive benefit (though the benefit could certainly be quite small). And like I said before…I ordered one before ever hitting it. Why? Because I wanted it lol. And after hitting it in person, I’m glad I did. I like it. Side by side with the 425 Max (and not getting LM numbers) I like its looks, sound, and feel. Once it’s in hand I can give it a thorough workout over a few LM sessions using my favorite shafts.
  2. I was trying to keep the post and question as simple as possible just to get a few options I could check out. Mission accomplished tbh but your points are well taken. I have used X shafts in the past but typically don’t like the feel (a few were okay). Also, I did have some launch data before asking. Without getting too wordy: I was trying out the TM Stealth (non-plus) 9°, on the “Lower” setting, with RDX (?) S. I was producing around 16.5° launch with 3300 spin; that is a bit much (note: these were from PGA Tour superstore yesterday; one of the Flightscope units). And I do normally see very high launches (and sometimes pretty high spin; my SIM v1 that is a garage prop now spins too little though…like 1300-1500). Interestingly though, I went and had a lesson today—it was my first in about 6 months as I’ve been battling injuries. After a bit of work on my dynamics, using my current gamer (425 Max 9° on small minus with Rogue 130 white S) and measuring with Trackman, I was producing much better numbers, especially considering I was hitting range balls and wasn’t quite catching the sweet spot (G425 Max and Rogue 130 white). That was the highest CHS/BS and was a little off the toe. The next swing, he said “that one was a little slower.” ”Yeah it felt like it. How much slower though?” I asked. ”108.”
  3. I play a 9° head and usually need to crank it down as far as it’ll go or close. I’m glad you guys mention Ventus Black as I have one on hand (though it’s standard length). I will take a look at some of the other options as well. I always seem to get along with the Diamana lineup.
  4. I may have missed it but how’s your launch and spin with the red and what’s your typical AoA?
  5. SS is around 102 these days. I like to play stiff shafts in the sixty-something weight category at stock or even longer lengths (from 45.5” up to about 47”). I like to pick the most forgiving heads like my current 425 Max. I just impulse ordered the TM Stealth (non-plus). With these highest MO/forgiveness heads, spin and launch and can get too high for me sometimes even at the lowest loft settings. So what are some of the lowest launching and spinning shafts within those parameters?
  6. Placed my order yesterday morning. I ordered a weird setup though. 9* Stealth (non plus) with Ventus Red (with Velocore) 60S, tipped .5" +1" My guess is it will be a high spin, high launch, machine but we'll see. My swing speed is down to around 101 these days. I have a Ventus Black and a Ventus Blue on hand so if the Red spins too much and/or launches too high I'll chop it down and put it in a 3w Also expecting Feb 4.
  7. Just bought one of these today. Took it out of the box and used it on the range. I only used it with 9i and driver swings and it seemed to work great. I think it missed a single 9i shot (out of probably 50+). I had one driver swing read funky (about 180....normal seems to fly 240-250 on this). So it seemed to be working fine. HOWEVER I got home and loaded up the app on my iPhone. The app loaded fine and opened fine. I hit the icon in the upper right and had it connect to the SC300i. It did so and said to update the firmware. I started that process. The app got to abouit 85% and then said update failed. I looked at the SC300i and it said 54% in the lower right corner. I hit the button on the app (continue, ok, cancel...something like that) and it just went back to the app. The app didn't see the SC300i anymore and said "make sure the unit is powered on" or something like that. Well, the SC300i is stuck on that 54% screen and won't power on (or off if it's technically on with the 54% showing?). I can't figure out any way to hard boot/reboot it and connecting to the PC doesn't help. It *feels* like it's bricked but hopefully not. I've contacted Voice Caddie. Hopefully they can get it sorted.
  8. I wish I'd seen this thread earlier. I bought an SC300i today. When I got home, fired up the app, then tried to update the firmware like it suggested, the app said "update failed' and now the SC300i is stuck on 54% and won't turn on so there's no way to continue or restart the update. Wonderful. I just sent a message to them. Hopefully I hear back soon. Great question. If there's a button combination, I sure can't figure it out.
  9. There’s a set on the rack at Valley Golf in Phoenix. DG120 S300, standard length, black dot. MCC align grips.
  10. > @From_Parts_Unknown said: > I had a chance to demo a set of Blueprint irons and Ping totally botched this iron. > > First, it's an 8620 head, they're not supposed to feel as soft as they do. It's fugazi carbon steel. They should be much harder than they are, Ping should not have made these soft feeling, it's deceptive and could warrant a class action suit based on fraud. A golfer buying these because he thinks they're going to be that nice hard Ping feeling like Karsten use to make will be completely disappointed. > > Second, the irons are way too forgiving. Small headed muscle back blades are not supposed to have any MOI. That 4 iron should be much harder to hit than it is, period! I bet it's that tungsten screw that is **** it up. Ping should have found another way to alter swing weight without giving the head forgiveness. You can't make muscle back irons with forgiveness, it's irresponsible. The next thing you know, 10-15 handicaps are going to be playing blades. Next thing you know, this set is going to be cannibalizing the G410 sales, and that's just bad business. > > It's clear to me why Ping never made a set of muscle back irons, they have no idea how to do it. Someone needs to send them a set of baby blades so they can understand that muscle backs should only be soft if you use real carbon steel forged by Eitri on Nidavellir using 22 different dies, and most importantly, they shouldn't be easy to hit. Terrible. I approve of this post. My impressions are similar so far, but with only a few range sessions on them. I’ll know more after my tournament round tomorrow.

Super solid. Even the 4i was fine for me. The heads are small but not noticeably smaller than my 718mbs were. At least not that I can tell. The MB’s are gone so I can’t compare though. Ping has a winner here for sure. > > Mind me asking if yours was a early order or did a shop sell you some early? I had my shop email the rep before ordering was even an option. So basically a pre-pre-order lol

  13. Well...damn now I feel bad. Apparently they aren’t supposed to be available until the 30th. They’re no longer available on the rack and I shouldn’t have posted pics.

Just worried it might be too big of a gap! Thanks in advance for any input!! > > I am really considering pulling the trigger on these by these weekend hahahaa > > > I think I'd be doing something like 21, 25, 29 - then power spec., but I'd be patient. Just decide how you want the BPs. You might be happy with two 7-irons, too. I think it's hard to predict, but if you've been playing power spec'd 210s, you're going to be a full club back if you don't power the Bps. By being patient, buy them how you want them, and then adjust your lofts after the fact. Once you see what your actual gap is between your 27º 6-iron and your either 32 or 34º 7-iron, you'll have to go between "close enough", bends, or get a 6 1/2 iron. The i500s go further for many people (they didn’t really for me). I’d guess retro spec i500 and power spec BPs should have the best gap between the 6 and 7. For a combo set, I like @matchavez idea of considering two 7is as well.
  15. And no, Kevin H. You may NOT hit them!
  16. Deleted pics because, unbeknownst to me, I wasn’t supposed to post them. Not sure if they’ll stay in the quoted posts but whatevs. ‘Sall good. ?
  17. > @mBiden2 said: > In hand pics please! As soon as I get home after dinner. Anyone have specific pic requests?
  18. Has anyone else heard these are extremely limited? I was told I was lucky I got my request/order in early because “only 5 sets were available in your area.” I’m in PHOENIX. WTF lol.
  19. Standard lofts (I’m guessing these will be similar to other blade iron lofts), red dot, +1/2”, C-Taper stiff. Yes. Please.
  20. Yup solid forging. Weight port is...a weight port. Edit: and for me, “submitting” the order was just telling the shop I use what I want, they wrote it down and emailed the rep, he said they won’t be able until June, they told me. They’ll actually submit the order once a SKU/price is determined.
