  1. Here is a picture of Steve Elkington's set. Search "Rare Titleist Custom Grind Irons" here on Golf WRX. It is on page 3, post #78. The ones he had pictured are stamped "ELK MODEL" on the hosel as seen in the picture. According to Addam, only 750 sets of these were produced.
  2. There used to be a member on here a long time ago named Addam Smith from Austrailia. His specialty was Titleist Custom Grind irons. He was good friends with and owned several sets of irons played by PGA Tour player Steve Elkington (1995 PGA Champion). The reason I mention this is because one of the sets he had pictures of was a set of Cubic Balance blades just like the ones you have pictured. Apparently, when Steve Elkington left Titleist, he signed with Cubic Balance. So, unless I am mistaken, you have a very rare set of blades designed for Steve Elkington. I will try to find out more info. for you. GREAT FIND !!!
  3. Very nice Driving Iron. Do you happen to know any info about it? Also, have you ever hit it and if so how did it perform?
  4. Very nice selection of 1-irons. Do you have the complete set of the Macgregor Nicklaus SS1 irons in the picture? I have seen those sets on E-bay in the past with a very high price tag ($2000 to $3000 a set with the display case). Yes, set 1800 of 2500 but no display case. I also have an additional putter and 1 iron. There was a super limited set of 150 and the woods in those sets have perfect u-shape grain and I have the driver & 3 wood from set 116 of 150p. Very nice. Those persimmons do have a beautiful grain pattern. There was a display case on E-Bay for this set for $65.00 but they did not offer shipping. Local pick-up only. It may still be on E-Bay. Sorry about that info. I just checked E-Bay and the $65.00 display case is for the VIP TP-93 Centennial Set. If you are interested the the E-Bay auction number is 392177677401.

  6. OK, here's a pic or two. The first pic is the 1 iron I'm using with my TW276 set, with NV105 shafts. Had to lead tape the hell out of it, it was a light clubhead (the hosel was loaded with lead powder from factory, lovely). The second one is a pic some folks here seem to expect me to share from time to time, LOL: <edited because I forgot and was grabbing HTML code instead of IMG code> Nice. I used to play a set of the Ram FX Pro-Set irons back in the ninety's. I still have a set of the FX Custom Nickel musclebacks out in the garage.
  7. You are obviously the go to guy for a 1-iron. How many 1-irons do you own? I was waiting on the Hogan fans to start showing their stuff and you did not disappoint. Those Macgregor Nicklaus VIP's are georgeous. Yours appear to be from the original '67 and '68 models. The one I posted has the diamonds on the face instead of the crowns and is a satin finish. I think it came from one of the reproduction sets made for the Japanese market.
  8. That 1-iron has been well preserved. You can hardly tell that it has been hit. Very nice for a club nearly 30 years old.

  10. Here is a Macgregor by Nicklaus VIP 1-iron I picked up at a Good Will a few years back for a whooping $4.00. I went back to this Good Will probably three times a week for over a year hoping to find some more of this set but never did.
  11. Beautiful Tour Blade 1-iron. Do you have the full set of Staff's? You are right about the Muirfields. Beautiful sticks but they are truly baby blades.
  12. Love the BECU 1-iron. I never knew that the 845 model had a "0" iron. I'll bet that thing is tough to hit off the ground. Trevino once said "not even God can hit a 1-iron".
  13. I was recently tinkering around in my garage thru my hoard of golf clubs and came across these Titleist 1-irons. Remember the days when you could buy a 1-iron to match your set? You just don't see or hear about golfers carrying a 1-iron in their bag anymore. Anyway, thought I would share these pictures and would like to see some 1-iron pictures from some of the other members of Golf WRX (Hogan, Wilson, Spalding, Cobra, etc., etc.).
  14. That is hilarious. That thought actually crossed my mind when I first saw that the serial number started with the numbers "666". Satan must be an excellent golfer if he play's a set of these. Or, maybe he is a hacker which would explain why he never bothered to hit this set.
