  1. Left on course. Used golf club sites don't have it. Need replacement or good alternative Ideas welcome
  2. Are ping fitting measurements universal in the sense that if i am fitted for a ping club say marroon and 1 inch over standard could i apply those specs to a different manufacturer that I might buy? Also, would a fitting I had say 10 years ago still be accurate/usable? I am basically the same size though skills improved
  3. Just got a used gbb epic sub. Wrong flex. Thinking of putting a gratfaloy epic xstiff from an older driver in. Shaft worked really well in the past. Good combination/idea ?

  5. Thinking of moving to xr16 pro from rfe. Is the neck in the 2 sticks same/compatible so that a shaft pulled from rfe can fit easily into xr16 without mods?
  6. According to Rick Shiels you have to look at the G20. Would also look at R15...again according to Shiels
  7. Recently bought a Tight Lies Ti for around $30. I'm blown away by how well it performs. I also watched the Shiels video where he compared Callaway drivers from the last 5 years and concluded that performance wise there has not been a huge change in the performance of Callaway drivers. I was wondering what else is out there that has exceptional performance same or better than the new stuff but is "exceptionally" cheap compared to current offerings. This would kinda be anti PXG where the goal here is to get exceptional performance cheaply as opposed to producing something with great performance without regard to cost. As a guideline suggest these prices: Driver - $100 or less 3 wood - $50 or less Irons (4 -pw) - $300 or less Wedges - $50 or less per wedge Putter - $80 or less These prices are wholly intuitive so there are probably some better guidelines but hopefully you get the gist. Curious do any of you have first hand experience of equipment that meets this criteria ?

    3 wood ideas

Would like new 3 wood. Used probably makes the most sense. Something long, workable, good forgiveness, versatile....cheap Ideas ?

  11. Very impressed by the all the feedback. Thank you so much. Lots options to research.
  12. Found gigagolf SGS Tradition - look really interesting. Any feedback on these ?
  13. Looking for some new wedges. Interested in manufacturers offering really good performance but cheaper than well known options (Cleveland, Titlist etc) Any suggestions ?

    Shafts! (

Recently went from Diamana Ahina to Arthur Xtreme engineering Xcaliber. Xcaliber is an astonishing shaft. Feel is way better than Ahina and shaft stays very well connected throughout swing. Ahina has worked well but I'm finding better driving results with Xcaliber. Lesson. Regardless of what you consider high end Xcaliber is likely to be very competitive from a performance standpoint and is worth serious consideration. The fact that it cost significantly less than comparable performing shafts is a huge bonus.
  15. Was referring to XTD forged. Was able to spend sometime hitting the XTD forged against 716 CB. Overall 716 won. Had better feel and distance and was able to work the ball a little better with 716. Hard to judge on distance but it seemed to me that the CB was longer. XTD seem to provide some good forgiveness but certainly not better than CB. I was hitting a used XTD and the clubs looked a little dull in finish. Pics look better than reality. If you are looking for a relatively cheap entre into a players club category then XTD forged could be good choice. Good not great. If you already have a players club and are looking for a change certainly would include XTD in tests. XTD gave the impression that once you get familiar with it could prove to be a very good performer but did not wow me with the little time I spent with it.
