  1. HA! Shows what I know! Thank you!
  2. Good to know! Thank you!! Where did you come across that information?
  3. Has anyone here ordered Mizunos with $-tapers in them from Mizuno? Will they build clubs with $-Tapers in them? If there's an upcharge, what is it? Thanks for your help!
  4. Thanks for the responses! Traverse City CC looks kind of short? and it's around double what I want to pay for the year. I assume Lochenheath is the same cost? I can't find anything online about dues there. A-ga Ming is over an hour from where I'll be living. Interlochen and Mistwood actually look like good options. Very close to where I'll be living actually. Are they far enough off the beaten path that they're not overrun with people during the summer season?
  5. I'm moving to Traverse city in a couple months and am looking for a regular place to play. I'll be living just south of the city and would ideally like something within 30-40 minutes. Hoping for something around or under $2000 a year with some good players, where i can find a regular matches etc. Could be private or public, but I'd like a place where I can buy a season pass/pay membership dues etc. Suggestions? Thanks!
  6. My girlfriend and I are hoping to spend a night at a golf/spa resort around Charleston SC (within 100 miles or so). Does anyone have any recommendations? Pinehurst is too expensive and Kiawah is all booked...

I see sets of the same heads with S300s selling for even less all the time. Considering the shafts in my set in, they seem to be at a drastically reduced price compared with retail stores in my area (Boston). I bought them from Monsters Golf, ostensibly an honest seller (checked their feedback as well as posts on this forum before buying). It has made me think: do retail ou

  9. how do these guys do it?I just bought a set of Nike pro combo irons on ebay with the new KBS c taper shafts for $499. I see sets of the same heads with S300s selling for even less all the time. It has made me think: do retail outlets really make this much per set that they sell? $499 for what would be an $899 set in Boston befo
  10. Hi everyone. I'm moving to Charlotte in September and will be there until next June (possibly longer). I would like to get a pass to play courses not too far outside the city. I've read about the Carolina Golf Trail. This sounds interesting but, after searching the archives it sounds like these courses are badly maintained and crowded. I read about Verdict Ridge, but it's almost 40min outside of town, so it might be difficult for me to be able to get there often enough. Ideally, I'd like to buy a year long pass to a course that is easily accesible from the center of Charlotte. I woul
  11. Thanks everyone for your input. The cape is too cold for me right now, but I admire your courage Dan! It's actually supposed to snow in Dennis on Sunday :-(. Maybe I'll try the RTJ or Mesquite. I'll be sure and post a report if I go anywhere. BTW, I'm watching the Chevron right now. Got to love Rory's swing!
  12. on the CHEAPHi everyone. I've been a lurker here for a while, but haven't posted much (maybe this is my first?). I started playing golf a few years ago and have gotten down to a 10 handicap. Each year the addiction grows, and now, in Boston, it's cold and the golf season is over, but I'm still dying to play! I'm thinking of taking a golf vacation this winter but I'll have to do it very cheaply. I'm not picky about room/board. I'm even willing to camp. I have one friend who may go with me if I can find a way to do it cheaply enough. I'd like to play as much as I can while I'm there (36/d
