Here i illustrate the key differences between Hogan and Tiger's right elbows in the downswing. The key differences in my humble opinion is how quickly Hogans club head drops as compared to Tigers. Hogan used the tip of the right elbow as a key aspect of the downswing and in a very aggressive and unique way. I believe this was an anti blocking/hooking technique. First up, Nike VR TW blade irons 3-PW, 3 iron looks brand new, has a True Temper Dynamic Golf SL steel shaft and factory Nike grip, not sure of the flex as the label has been removed before I acquired it. 4-PW have Project X 5.5 steel shafts (labels have been removed) and newer Golf Pride Tour Velvet Midsize grips. I played the 6-PW the last 2 years. Great clubs, switched to something a little more forgiving. 5 iron measures 38.25. 4-PW has had the paint fill removed on the back of the blade as pictured. $225 Nike VR Pro Blade 4-PW, heads only, paint fill has been removed. I got back to thinking about the PGA Tour cut streak and realized I actually had no real idea what figures came after Tiger and Lord Byron's well known totals. I went through the PGA Tour website to find as much data as possible. That one only goes back to 1980, so I tried to find additional information for the early years as well. Here's the info in case anyone else is interested:  A couple notes: -I added the Open Championship to all the totals because the database doesn't do this until 1995 -Ben Hogan and Sam Snead's totals could be completely wrong. There was a sports illustrated article stating Ben actually has 177 consecutive cuts made, but somebody else made me aware of a few WDs which were missed at the time. -Arnold Palmer has a nice streak of his own, but I have no idea what the actual total is. My guess is something in the 80s. -I wanted to include Hagen and Sarazen, but the data is just too suspect so I just went back to 1940 to take them out of the equation. -The best current cut streak is Tommy Fleetwood with 30 just barely missing out here! Superstars Phil and Rory have only managed 21, and 23 respectively.

No player can generate as much buzz for golf equipment as Tiger. So much of his gear is now ubiquitous, whether he started the trend or just continued it. Golf Pride tour velvet grips and Dynamic Gold shafts are everywhere. Mizuno irons are still universally praised. His drivers have had commercial success. Scotty Cameron Newport putters are in tons of bags. Graphite Design Tour AD DI and Mitsubishi Diamana shafts are still popular. I think you would see far fewer blades if Tiger bagged a CB. The money making opportunity when he puts something in the bag is endless. Why TM doesn't release a MG TW grind wedge blows my mind. At least they finally released the Ardmore 3 putter with a slant neck like the one he briefly bagged..... So much of his bag is classic and timeless. The things that didn't stick: 1) The putter sight dot. The only way you can get one is a custom order. So many good tour putters have a limited or no sightline. Jason Day's blank spider (TM got rid of it with the Spider X series...yes I know you can order one custom). Jordan Spieth with a small line on top of the blade (where it should be), and not the flange (TM had one like this with the Juno, but got rid of it with the Patina collection). Why is it that no OEM offers a stock putter with a sight dot? Why are there so few putters with a reduced, or no, alignment aid? 2) The Bridestone ball. A great ball endorsed by Tiger publicly/secretly for years. His switch to a solid core ball in 2000 completed killed the wound ball. And yet when you find a ball on the course, when you buy one in the store, it probably isn't a Bridgestone. How Bridgestone managed to completely blow Tiger's endorsement is mind bending. Having 4 tour balls is a mistake and confusing for sure. Callaway vaulted to #2 in ball sales while Bridgestone seems to lag with such a good ball suggests their marketing has been a total failure.
