  1. Just joined WRX and am loving the site so far for sure! Picked up the sticks for the first time in over 10 yrs back in June...one of the only positives of this COVID time has been the extra time to re-learn the game, and I’ve been bitten by the golfing bug Big Time! My previous clubs were all entry-level, low quality, and outdated, so upgraded my whole bag piece by piece over the last 5 months and am finally at the point where I feel good about my set-up and can’t wait to pick some courses appart next season!! Here’s my WITB: Driver: Callaway Rogue (9* @ 10*) Shaft: Aldila Synergy Blue 50 S 3-wood: Callaway Rogue (15*) Shaft: Aldila Synergy Blue 60 S (68g) Hybrid 4: Callaway Rogue X (20*) Shaft: Aldila Synergy Blue 60 S (68g) Irons: TaylorMade Tour Preferred MC (3-7), TaylorMade Tour Preferred MB (8-PW) Shafts: True Temper XP 95 S300 (+1”, +1* upright) Wedges: TaylorMade Milled Grind (52-09, 56-12, 60-10) Shafts: True Temper Dynamic Gold (+1.25”) Putter: TaylorMade Redline Monza (36") Grip: Lamkin Deep Etched Golf Ball: TaylorMade V3 Speed/Noodle Long and Soft Grips: Lamkin Crossline Black Midsize
  2. Anyone have playing experience with the ZX7s, 2021 T100, and the PXG 0311T Gen 3 (or Gen 4) and can give a detailed comparison of the 3 different irons? I’ve seen a couple comparison about the ZX7 and older T100 models, but not much info out there comparing the newer T100 model. I currently game PXG 0311T Gen 3 with Modus pro 120X shafts, but I’m curious how these compare to the Srixon ZX7 and the Titleist T100 in terms of Feel and forgiveness. Also if you can note what shafts were used.
  3. Have a set of Srixon ZX7’s for sale. Set makeup is 5-PW standard lie, length, and loft, and swingweight. Shafted with Modus 105 stiff hard stepped one time. These clubs have seen a single range session and four rounds. Grips are Golf Pride (tour velvet), one club has a Golf Pride cord grip on it. Asking $675 OBO
  4. Okay, this is not only complicated, but also a real WRX problem. I have a set of Srixon z745s I picked up off eBay, initially intended to be range beaters or back ups, was gaming mizy 919 tours when I got them, the srixons are awesome clubs though. So much so that they have constantly worked their way into my bag. Played Mizunos for years prior, turns out they build clubs too light for me. The Srixons were standard spec when I got them, right shafts in the first place, just needed extended and lie adjusted. I’m handy, knocked that out in a weekend to get them to spec. But that meant shaft extensions, + 1/2”. This was done prior to ever hitting them and only lead to good results. No idea if they were tip weighted already or not, just that they were standard spec. Have had them swing weighted and they come in at D5 with my midsize grips, tape build up, and extensions. Loved the 745s so much I ordered a combo set of ZX7 pw-6 w/ ZX5 5&4, brand new, had my specs from multiple fittings, but never really had anyone dive into club weight/swing weight/static weight with one of those fittings. Great clubs, but still just a little off, way more inconsistent with them, hotter in general and a well struck ball is a well struck ball, but I just couldn’t find the same tempo or groove as I do with the z745s. So I weighed both sets for static weight. The z745s were heavier across the board. They were even (within a gram) in some places, but those were the ZX7 clubs I hit the best in general. I also ended up lengthening the zx7s a 1/4” after ordering them because of my own stupidity. Again I’ve had them swing weighted as is, and after mods, at Continental Golf here locally and they were basically the same, in fact the ZX7s had a bunch of lead tape on them when I had them swing weighted and they came out heavier (swing weight). BTW, you should see their swing weight machine, it’s about the size of a small fridge and probably more accurate than anything golfworks sells. Or less… it’s pretty old… not what this is about… Getting to the point, but did say this is a WRX problem… So, now I’ve come across a set of z745 5-7 with 945 8-pw heads thanks to @Oh Hi Carl (yeah you’re invited to the party hahaha). As well as a fresh uncut set of S400 shafts I picked up on the bay. Same shafts I’m gaming in both sets of existing irons. Heres the dilemma… Do I take the Srixon z745s I’ve been gaming to great success, best scores I’ve ever shot, completely apart to see why they weigh more and I hit them so well? Eg tip weights in there? - I’m worried I’m going to break something that’s already working and put a bunch of effort into a non needle mover. Do I build the new 745/945 set as is and try to match up the weights? Do I disassemble the z745s I have now and use the new heads to build a super set MOI matched and really WRXd? Or do I put the new shafts in the ZX7/5 combo and assume I did a sh*t job with the extensions in there and that’s throwing everything off? PS the extensions i the ZX7s were only done way after the fact, probably at least 6 months after receiving, and did improve my ball striking, but not to the same level as the 745s as they are now. For the record the only fit difference between zx7 and z745s is static weight (for most clubs) and grips; zx7 z-cords, z745s UTXs, both midsize with plus 2 build up tape and still mostly equal swing weights. Given that this is WRX I’ve probably only given you half the necessary information. So hit me with all of the conjecture, criticism, and questions I deserve…. Also I’ll post both sets static weights when I can, but I already wrote a book with this post and am about out of finger juice. Plus not sure it even matters. Any response is appreciated!!! Plus you get a gold star for reading all this bullxxxx and following me down the rabbit hole…
  5. I recently picked up a set of Srixon ZX5 irons to replace my Mizuno JPX 919 Forged iron set. The PW on the Srixon’s is 2 degrees stronger than the previous Mizuno’s making close to a 25 yard gap between the 44* PW and my 50* CBX Zipcore Gap Wedge. Need help determining if it makes more sense to bend the PW weaker or bend the gap wedge strong to 48*. Thanks in advance

Looking at a set of Mizuno 921 Tours. Have 6.5's in them. Currently have the ZX7's with TI X100's. Anyone game the 921's and your thoughts on them? Has anyone played both and what are your thoughts? Much appreciated!
  7. Like everyone else I'm here to share what's in my bag. I want to do a bit more as well by showing off where I'm starting as my 2020 bag isn't fully set, what I'm thinking of changing, my fitting, what I end up with and how it plays/played. I may go through more about myself but that might take away from the whole WITB theme. My 2019 WITB before 2020 fitting: Driver: Ping G410 Plus - 9° - No Hosel Adjustment - Weight in Draw - Ping Tour 60S - GP 360 Tour Velvet Cord Midsize.Fariway: Cobra F7 - 15.5° - Set in Draw - Weight in Back - Tensei 65S - Trimmed tip and butt - MCC+4 MidsizeHybrid: Ping G410 - 19° - Set to Flat - Alta CB 70R - MCC+4 MidsizeIrons: 4i to 7i Srixon 585 - AMT Tour White S300 - 1/2" Length - MCC+4 Midsize8i to PW Srixon 785 - AMT Tour White S300 - 1/2" Length - MCC+4 MidsizeWedges: Forget which shaft, believe it's a Dynamic Gold Stiff, shafts are unbanded. - +1/2" Length - MCC+4 MidsizeCallaway Mack Daddy 3 - 51°Ping Glide Stealth 2.0 - 56°Ping Glide - 60°Ball - Various mostly X models, went back and forth between Srixon Z-Star XV and TP5X.Putter: Edel E-3 - 36" - 150g counter balance (50g in handle, 100g grip) - Flat Cat Tak Standard - Installed sideways for claw grip. What I plan to change:Driver: The head is staying, I love the 410 Plus from the look at address, the sound, how it controls my spin and obviously the forgiveness. I'm looking at changing out the shaft, when I did my fitting last year I did a lot and well dropping extra cash for a shaft wasn't in the cards. Luckily this stock shaft actually fit me quite well so we didn't have to worry much, but I'm going back for a fitting and testing some shafts won't take long. I'm mainly looking for something I can step on the gas more, I don't feel like I can go all out with this shaft when I'm feeling good. What will go in? Well I'll leave it mainly up to my fitter, they know more than me, I just give feedback when swinging. We know the Accra TZ5 and TZ6 are front runners but something else could perform better or the current shaft. There are a few shaft that I do want to try but who knows.Fairway: This club I have a huge love/hate relationship with, some days I can't miss and will use over the driver even if my driver is good then there are days I can hardly hit this thing especially when I need it. I need more consistency with my fairway especially especially on short par 4s and reachable par 5s. The other issue is this thing is a missile, it's low and piercing flight, great off the tee, absolutely useless into greens unless they're super soft. What will go in? I haven't tested much in store as I can't find a head and shaft setup I like so I'll wait until I'm getting fitted. I have looked at a lot at address and really like the look of the SIM, coming in behind is Maverick and ST200 line. But everything the fitter hands me will be tested and this category is the biggest mystery for me in what I'll end up with.Hybrid: Not going to sugar coat it but I don't hit hybrids well, don't like the look of most at address, I also hit my irons way better and further. What will go in? I'm thinking of ditching hybrids, I'm sure I'll test a few but I'm leaning towards a driving/utility iron. I might just go with a hollow body iron like the P790 or Cobra Forged Tech in a 3i. I have enough height with my irons I don't have to worry much about stopping power but it's more for fairway finders on tight holes I can't hit a wood on and other situations where I need to go ~210-220 in the air. I think that's good for now, I'll continue next post with what I might change in my bag, why and what I'm looking at. Obviously I'll answer any questions or anything like that on my bag, why I'm doing what I'm doing with changing certain clubs and all that jazz. Shoot you can ask me almost anything if you want.

  9. I've been on this site a little over a year and my bag has changed a lot in that short amount of time. I probably owed a WITB to my previous setup, which lasted me the better part of 6 years, but all but one of those clubs have moved on to new owners. With that said, I finally found some time and decent indoor lighting here in the PNW to snap some photos; another passion of mine. The '22 bag is pretty locked in with the exception of the 5w that has really begun to show its left (coughhookcough) bias in recent times. I may also tinker with Modus wedge shafts down the line. The 3w and 4 utility were recently built by myself – funny how a 7 iron head (previous set) flying off at the range can quickly turn into a newfound hobby/obsession. Let's get into it. (Yes, I'm a 13 club guy.) Driver: Taylormade Sim 2 Max (10.5º @ 9º) Shaft: Mitsubishi Diamana ZF 60X 3-wood: Taylormade Sim Max (15º) Shaft: Project X HZRDUS Smoke Blue RDX 70 6.5 5-wood: Cobra Fly-Z+ (17.5º @ 19º) Shaft: Graphite Design Tour AD VR 8x Irons: Srixon ZX Utility (4), Mizuno Pro 223 (5-PW) Shafts: Mitsubishi MMT 105TX ssx1 (4), Nippon Modus Tour 115X (5-PW) Wedges: Mizuno T20 (52-09, 58-12) Shafts: True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400 Putter: Odyssey Stroke Lab Black Seven Grips: Golf Pride MCC Black (1 full wrap, +3 bottom)
  10. Hey Guys, I’ve recently thought about switching to Players Cavity Backs. Any thoughts in which irons are the best in your opinion? No specific year, I was looking into the Titleist 710CB. What do yall think?
  11. Looking to trade my ZX5 9.5 Degree head for a ZX7 Head. Any takers? 350$
  12. Up for sale is a Mint set of Srixon ZX5/ZX7 Combo irons. 5i,6i,7i are ZX5 with 1* weak lofts 8I,9I,PW are ZX7 with std lofts. Both come with modus 120 S shafts Selling as the Modus 120 do not work for me, so have only played 2 rounds with these. Everything is as advertised , both the heads hit buttery smooth $900 shipped. Wilson C300 3w with yellow hzardus handcrafted. Really great 3w if you can swing the shaft, sadly i cannot anymore and hence the reason to sell. Open to selling the shaft only as the head is really underrated and i dont mind keeping it. $125 shipped
  13. I regripped my irons (zx7) and when I cut the old grips off there was not any tape. Just a thin adhesive that easily came off with the grip or my fingers in about 5 seconds. .580 grip on PX shaft I was curious if anyone knows what exactly they use. Not having to mess with heating up and peeling off old grip tape was really nice. It really made things easier. The grips that were on the clubs never moved in the year + that I have had the clubs so the adhesive worked well. Is there a particular product? rubber cement? I know a lot of you will recommend air and I have used air on many clubs but switched back to traditional tape/solvent after some of the butt ends of the grip moved around Thanks for any input.
  14. @easyyy added more pics with comparison photos with T100 and older Srixon models here... I have tested both the Srixon Zx7 and ZX5 and I am VERY impressed. The feel of the ZX7 is one of the best I have ever hit. Kwok said they bend like butter and told me the ZX7's are 1020 carbon forged by Endo. Looks like Srixon swing for the fences using soft 1020 and back to Endo to do the forgings. Went to find out more and he was right. Not many are using 1020 and certainly Ising Endo to do the forgings. The feel off the face is incredible. Watched all the reviews on YT and same findings. As for the ZX5 I hit the long irons real well and didn't experience that "click" that Michael Newton experienced on his YouTube review. TXG and our Johnny Wonder loved them and Ian also talked about the 1020 material as well as being forged in the Endo forging house. Great work Srixon!!! Order is in. 17. Anyone who is serious about maximizing consistency knows about swingweighting, and usually has it done by a professional club-builder. But what about calculating an anticipated weight before having a club built? How are we supposed to guess (rhetorical)? Obviously, it's great to know an experienced club-builder or two. However, I want to start a forum for people to share the weights of individual clubheads from specific models and manufacturers. It's reasonable to expect there would be small differences, and much of this information is not available on manufacturer or brand websites. I've attached a PDF containing an example of standard weights (see Page 2), but if you read through the whole packet you'll see how even a small variation in mass can lead to potentially noticeable differences, so it may be important for serious players to verify what the masses of particular clubheads are supposed to be. This can also be helpful in avoiding counterfeits or clubheads that have been illegally altered. My initial question is, does anyone have the head weights of the TaylorMade MB irons -- 2010, 2011, and 2014 -- numbers 4 and 2? Trying to determine how hard-stepping will affect these swingweights. As a secondary, I assume that the Titleist 716 MB weights are probably exactly the same as what is listed in the attachment, but if anyone can show that they are different this would be welcome information. Someone took my gram scale, and I keep putting off getting a new one -- but when I do I'll be happy to post the information I gather. Swing Weight.pdf

  20. Hi guys new to the forum but came here looking for some opinions. I currently game Adams a12 pro irons in a kbs stiff shaft and can clip my 8 iron about 145-150 carry but I want to get some Srixon 785/585s and the seller has them in a modus 3 120 X shaft and I’ve heard they play almost as soft as a stiff and I’m just wondering if anyone has any experience with these shafts. I really love the Look of the irons but don’t wanna sacrifice my game by jumping into shafts that are too stiff. I’m also an 8.6 handicap and play stiff shafts in my all of my other clubs
  21. Possibly the best set of 945's you will find for sale as used. 4-PW S300 shafts installed factory. All standard LLL. 22. Hello All, Update: I tried selling these before I moved to FL but I ran out of time. I'm back in Socal now for 3 days. I can meet up with any potential buyer around the OC/LA/SD area. Clubs are boxed and ready to go. I have the matching 4 iron at my place in Florida if you're interested in that as well. Price is flexible - reasonable offers will be entertained. Srixon 585 5-PW with Project X LZ 6.5 (x stiff) shafts. Standard L/L/L. These are incredible irons but I've moved on to a set of 785s.
