About Me

  1. I typically hit balls at either San Bruno golf center or Presidio golf course but their facilities and range layout aren't ideal. Looking for a facility with grass hitting option or good hitting mats and flat hitting area with good distance markers for distance/target practice. Would appreciate any recommendations!
  2. I have been noticing quite a difference in the distances I'm able to achieve on the driving range (mats only), compared to when I'm out on the course. Specifically with my irons, for example, 7 iron at range I've been around 145-155, but on course I've been finding it more around 135-140. For anyone that hits off both, does hitting off mat give greater distances for yourself? Some notes: - in addition to using range finder on range I also use swing caddie to double confirm distance of strikes. - I'm obviously not counting chunks or thin shots on the grass, i'm referencing flush shots that at least sound as good...to me
  3. tl;dr -- hit a shot, walk (anywhere and back) the equivalent distance, then hit your next shot. has anyone tried this? results/observations? ---- watching a sir nick faldo clinic on youtube and he mentions something (paraphrasing) about range rats hitting a shot every 15 seconds. obviously this doesn't translate to real golf unless your name is mark wahlberg. so making a logical leap, is "walking off" shots a better way to practice when you're not working on technical stuff that needs to be grooved? other thoughts?
  4. I'll be in hong kong for 2 days before heading to mainland soon, and i'm hoping i can get some practice in. Figuring practice with rentals is more valuable than no practice at all, i'm wondering if anyone can help advise if some/most/all of the driving ranges in hong kong provide clubs rental?
  5. I think you can find best driving range and giving in-depth idea and experience about driving ranges https://drivingrangehub.com
