    Combo set with T100/MB

I was just wondering if anyone has a combo set with the T100 and MBs or even CBs and if they would recommend it? Any pros or cons people have found with this setup? I understand the lofts are different but my thought was to strengthen the MBs 1 degree and they should match up with the lofts of the T100 then. I realize bounce and offset will change with this but my main concern is at the same loft is there much difference in distance between the T100 and MB? Just looking to keep the gaps uniform when the MBs come into play and I prefer the feel of a one piece iron in the shorter clubs. I'm thinking of doing T100 4-6 or 7 iron and then MBs on 7 or 8-PW. I can't find too much talk about this on any forums, all that pops up is a T-Series blend or CB/MB blend. Any thoughts or opinions are greatly appreciated!
  2. Brand new Titleist T100 50 degree wedge still in plastic. Project X 6.5, standard length/loft, 1 degree upright. $130 shipped priority.

    T200 vs P790

Looking to get a new set of irons. Any feedback from players that play either of these? Especially anyone that has tried both of them.
  4. Hi!. I'm fairly new at this. Want to list a set of irons for sale in the classifieds. How do I do this? Thanks
  5. The commercials are captivating. Callaway claims they are the number irons on tour and Taylormade claims the Sim driver is the number one driver played on tour. This may be true, but Ping and Titleist staffers have dominated the tour to date and it seems the dominance will continue. If they sweep the majors it would be fascinating. The question is, does Ping and Titleist have the best engineers in golf?
  6. Alright boys and girls.... I figured it was time to open myself up to some good ole' fashioned WRX trolling with some stick pics. I'm finally fully settled into a bag I'm comfortable with. I've tinkered to no end, and I always come back to a deep faced driver and blades. Without further adieu, here are the goods:
  7. Sup everyone, just wanted to recap my last iron fitting. I see a guy who is trackman certified, expert fitter, yada yada. He studied under Scott Hamilton and is big on the GEARS system. TLDR: I got fitted, was really surprised, learned some more, ordered clubs. Prior clubs, fitted by this guy, who I also take lessons with. all clubs were 2* upright and 4* gaps from 48pw on down. basically 2* weak. Shafts were used to raise launch and lofts were weakened to improve spin. I was probably a 5hdcp when I was fitted, down to a 2.4 today. Cubs are ok, definitely raised launch and spin. the only problem was into the wind, had a lot of trouble with the spin nocking off too much distance. I've always thought I was a lower spin player, in both driver and irons, but that seems to be changing as my recent driver fitting put me into a subzero head and much stiffer shaft. 4/5 TMB xp95 s300 6-PW 716 Ap2 xp95 S300 Going in, I was focused on the Titleist CB and JPX919 Tours. They seem to fit the bill for offset, topline, general look, and I like the smaller club heads. I really wanted to have less offset, just looks better to me. I'll go through the heads I hit and then the shafts and then the specs. I can't remember what shafts were hit with each club because we flipped through them so much. We started off with the Mizuno optimizer tool and tried shafts from there. Clubs: JPX- loved the look, didn't love the feel. The toe on the mizuno clubs looks really bulky. I even tried the HMB and MMC they felt better than the JPX, but they looked really big at address. Didn't bother hitting a bunch of these, not contenders. 620 CB- Love the look and offset, didn't love the feel initially. We went on to hit the top 3 contenders outside off turf so more on that later. Definitely better than the mizunos, but not what was hoping for... P760- He mentioned for his beetr players who didn't have a preference he fit a lot of guys into the P760. What I absolutely loved about these was the shorter blade length and the square-er toe section. the topline was a little thick and the offset was about the same as the JPX, but I hadn't considered them so I gave them a shot. Holy cow, these things felt awesome. TM says these are forged but they have some insert/face foam/ you know the spiel. They were more strongly lofted than the CBs so the numbers were really good, but a half club longer as expected. definite contender Apex Pro- After the disappointment of the JPX, I was willing to try anything. Similar lofts to the P760, so longer than the CBs, but these were a huge surprise. I really liked the feel, it was hollow in a good way but hot. I can't remember exactly but seemed to launch similar to the CB and P760. I really was surprised, more offset than the 760 and CB but not offensive. Contender Ping- I didn't hit any pings, but since the last S55 or whatever it was called, I haven't really been interested. They aren't great about sending the player's clubs for the fitting carts, and the blueprints are only glued, so they are almost impossible to fit, outside of a ping facility or staff fitter. Shafts- I was in the XP95 S300 since the last fitting. they worked great in the AP2 and TMB as I've always been on the lower launching side of normal. The mizuno optimizer spit out a bunch of 120 gram stiff and X options that I had no intention of trying going in. KBS C Taper- real stiff, no feel, never like the project x, so probably wasn't going to like these PX LZ - Thought these might fit, just didn't love them DG 120- always played these when I was younger until I found the original Rifle shafts in 5.5. Was surprised that the feel was better, but dispersion was pretty high. KBS Tour- Another one I thought I would gravitate towards. Whether it was the shaft or head or combo, they didn't seem to work. KBS $ Taper- The eventual winner. Dispersion was the tightest, despite face contact being the worst. I'll attribute that to hitting 60 iron shots with shafts that were 30% heavier than what I'm used to. definitely felt the best. As I've gone down the rabbit hole since the fitting, they are supposed to fit between the KBS Tour and C-Taper. Didn't feel like it to me, I thought this was what the KBS Tour was supposed to feel like. We never tried any lightweight shafts except the Modus 105, but that was quickly a no. Talking to the fitter, he noticed spin was a little lower but the decent angle was the same. In his mind, balls should still stop with that angle and spin, but should get rid of the ballooning and big side to side misses. We went outside and hit the Apex Pro with the DG, P760 with the KBs Tour and the CB in the $ Taper. I loved the flight with the APEX, but turf interaction was all over the place. The P760 was awesome on the ground, and the flight was good considering the lofts, the topline looked really thick in the sun as compared to the Trackman bay. I hit the CB the most outside the most, my contact wasn't great as I was pretty tired, but it went through the ground the best. The P760 in comparison took bigger divots. In the end I pulled the trigger on the 6-PW in the CBs with the $Taper shafts in stiff. I wasn't trying to revamp my bag, and the way I've been hitting my TMB 4 and 5, I'm going to keep those in. the CBs will transition better and the lofts will be more inline. I went from 2* up and 2* weak back to standard across the board. As my swing has changed, Ive noticed a few more left shots and would love to get those gone. HE gave me information about how people have been fitting into too upright lie angles and since I take lessons regularly from him, he like the standard make up and really continue to work on path and such. Hope that was enjoyable. The only questions left to answer are a) do I replace the shafts in the TMB's to match, despite having current success. Definitely going to bend them back to standard. b) What shaft go in a new set of wedges, I put xp95s in the vokeys, but the weight difference is really big now. c) how can I stare at normal black ferrules and how many BB&F co posts can I see without spending the $ to replace the ferrules. Off to the rabbit hole...
  8. Hi there, I have some 712 MBs that are fitted with a TT shaft but no labels. Despite much research I cannot place the model, although the seem similar to XP but are not. Here are the step details for the 7i with pics included: top of ferrule to 1st step = 7 15/16" 3 x 0.5" 4 x 1" (actually a hair over 1" but not 1/16) 2 x 1.25" 1 x 5/16" (this is what they call a 'speed step' right?) 1 x 4" 1 x 1/4" (another 'speed' step) 1 x 1 1/16" 1 x 1.5" Some more data - I've calculated the approx weight of the shaft as 100g. Here's what I've ruled out - Any standard DG, XP (blue label) range . Havent been able find info / pics online for the old DG XP or SL or Dynalite? Could it be one of these? Help appreciated! Thanks
  9. So I recently had 2 fittings: T100 Pw-6 + T200 5-4 w/ px 6.0 T100S Pw-4 w/ px 6.0 + 50* SM8 w/ px 6.0The T100 5-4 irons are the same lofts as the T200 6-5 irons. Would the T200 6-5 irons 0.50" longer fit the gap better than the T200 5-4 bent? Obviously it would be so weird having two 6 irons but I am just curious if anyone has tested this at all? Or would bending the T200 5-4 irons be a better option? Another option would obviously be to just go with the stronger lofted T100S so that the T200 fits in easier or just go full T100S, I just don't need to hit it any further and I would have to re gap my wedges.Thoughts? note: Currently playing R9 TP irons which are 1* weaker than the regular t100's. R9 TP also has more forgiving 5-4 irons which is why I kind of like the idea of getting T200 in my 5-4.
  10. I have been playing the AP2 (2008) for 10 years now. I finally ordered a new set of the T200 for the forgiveness without sacrificing looks at address. My question is about the adjustment I'll have to make in distances. I've looked at the specs of both and judging by the lofts I'll have to start hitting one club less to match distances (T200 8 Iron when I would've hit AP2 7 iron). Can anyone with the T200s speak to this? Also I ordered the 5-PW because the T200 4 Iron loft seems redundant with the 19 degree hybrid I have in the bag.
  11. For sale is a set of classic and pretty rare, refinished and lightly used set of Titleist "Box Blade" irons, with KBS Tour extra stiff shafts and Golf Pride Tour Velvet style Titleist marked grips in great condition. $800 shipped or best offer, but please no "lowballs." Thanks.
  12. Combo set with light use. Limited edition black. Specs: 4-5 iron: Ap3 2* flat 6i-PW: Ap2 2* flat and 1* strong for proper gapping Shafts: True Temper AMT White S300 Grips: Golf Pride MCC +4 $600; well into this set for over $1200 this time last year
  13. I am currently playing with the Titleist AP2 712 set 3-P with a stiff S300 shaft. I don't use drivers yet, but want to extend my distance a bit more than the 220 yards with my 3 iron, therefor I thought of getting a 2iron as I like playing with my long irons. Deciding between the Titleist U510 Grafite Hzrdus smoke Black 80 shaft S or a Mizuno MP20 HMB with Nippon Modus 3 130g X-Flex Schaft 2 iron. I don't know if the shaft of the U510 would fit me as I am a steel player with a heavier shaft, and a non objective comparison between the mizuno and titleist is hard to find.. Any recommendations ? Thank you!
  14. Like the idea of T400 in 5-6-7 and T300 in 8-9-P-A. Is the lofts too far off to blend? Would softening the T400 loft and strengthen the T300's work? Also thoughts on Fubuki vs Tensei Red graphite??
  15. For sale today are three different items: 1) Professional 22" Wheeled Duffel - This item is brand new and retails for $300. 16. Hi there. I have a Titleist Tour Model iron set (I think 90's edition) and some guy offered me some Wilson 1200LT at a cheap price. I was looking for something more forgiving since I am a beginner and those Tour Models are giving me a headache lol. Do you suggest buying those Wilsons or are them similar to the Titleist Tour Models? Thanks!
  17. Hey guys, I'm curious if anyone knows the when the upcoming cycles are for all the major manufacturers? TaylorMade, Titleist, Callaway, Ping, Cobra? Looking to pick up some new irons, however, I'm not really a fan of any of the current lineups. Thanks!
