Do they have any of the older production putters still there, or is it just their current ones? Also, what was the general price range on the tour stock putters? I live in Milwaukee, and I've been putting with a Studio Stock 10, but I'm really close to heading down to Chicago for a fitting.

Sadly, they don't have any older production models. I asked because I really wanted to try the older studio stock 7. Also the price for most of the tour stock was about $500 each, depending on what you picked up.

Did they have many putters without a line on the top, any naked putters? That is what held me back last time. I couldn't find any Bettis that didn't have a sight line on top.

When I was there they had some without a sight line or dot. I am sure you could get whatever you wanted if you are willing to wait.

Chris,

What a great post. My story is almost exactly the same as yours all the way down to the putter I was fitted for (Kuchar 1, 35", Lie Angle 67, Loft 4, midsize Pure Grips, White)!

After being told over and over and over again that I needed to come to Chicago to be fitted by one of my buddies (I live in southern Ohio, so it is a pretty good trip to get up there) I finally made time on my way to a event in Michigan.

Mike was fantastic during the fitting process, I can't even explain how great of an experience it was!

My favorite thing about the fitting was how adamant Mike was that Bettinardi prides itself on fitting the putter to the person's natural stroke and not adjusting the stroke. This was fantastic! I wasn't told to get the shaft more vertical or to change the path of my stroke. I stood there in my natural set-up and got the putter to fit to me!

After the fitting, Sam Bettinardi even took some time to talk to us more about the history of the company and showed us around.

If you are in the market for a new flat stick give Bettinardi a chance! I know not everyone has the extra cash or time but if you do, take a trip to Tinley Park and get the "royal treatment" while getting fitted for your new putter.

If you look at the customization form on the new website you can see where they can customize the putter to fit each and every one of your exact specifications...just may have to wait a little bit to get it done.

I went over to studio B yesterday afternoon and it was putter paradise. From the lobby to the fitting, everyone treated me like I was a tour star. I ended up scooping up a BB32 Counterbalance putter... They flattened it out for me and let me select a grip and I was on my way. I grabbed a bucket hat to keep the sun out of my eyes. Heading to west palm in 4 days.... time to roll in some putts !

After rolling a few more different models, we determined that face balanced was they way to go for me, which made sense considering the Versa that I had putted so well with the year before is also face balanced.

Thanks for sharing - like most here a Studio B trip is on the bucket list. I was wondering if they used your Versa to baseline you fitting or did they just start from scratch? Also, did you give any thought to taking your Versa to a place with a SAM system (completely understand just scraping the current model for a custom Betti).

Great looking putter - hope it ends up being one less club you need to ho.

Thanks for sharing. The more I read, the more I want to go in for a fitting sooner rather than later.
