They old Fuji Vista Tour 70 was the best fairway wood shaft ever made.

The Accra XE 80 second.

Nothing else comes even close.

I know different profiles, but absolutely perfect shafts.

My picks for a driver shaft are the Aldila VS Proto, the Aldila RIP'd VS Proto, and the Mitsubishi Diamanas (pick your poison as they're all very smooth feeling shafts). On the fairway side, I'd vote Diamana (again pick your flavor), Fubuki AX 85, Aldila VS Proto, Project X Tour Issue 8, and Graphite Design YS9.

In driver

Diamana's: Orginal Blue, original White, then the Kai'li and Ahina...So I love MRC Diamana shafts--- Oddly I tried the new S+ series for a few months, in two diff driver heads and it just felt boardy to me- it felt like an Aldila shaft- that one did. These shafts are so smooth that I even tried a heavy version (for me) of the Ahina in a borderline strong flex, and I love that too. Certainly looks like whatever Diamana does just really suits my swing.

The best shaft all-time for me is the Graphite Design Tour AD DI series--- took me a long time to decide to shell out big bucks for that shaft, but it is long, straight, mid-high and smooth smooth smooth. After my first trip to the range, I smiled-- I did think about how much I paid for it- but I thought- Wow- I'm glad I got this! So to me, totally worth the money. You're missing out on something special if you haven't tried one.

In fairway woods:

Diamana Ilima 60 x5ct S- couldn't believe how nice this was for me- long, high and just a lot of fun to hit-- really loved it but sold that club and shaft. Uber fun and smooth in a fairway wood.

Accra Dymatch: incredible- had this in a tee cb4 and boy, what a combo this turned out to be- sold it when my game went south-- but I really loved it.

Smoothest shafts I've hit in a driver would have to be Matrix TP7 or Fujikura 761TB.

Interestingly enough, my list is pretty much the same (and that wasn't in any order). I'd also add the Fubuki J and GD DI though, and really want to try the Accra CS1.

Fujikura PRO

It is incredibly smooth. You can take a crack with it and still feel in control or you can take a controlled light swing and also feel it load and kick with the same effort put forth. I just put the tour spec on my driver and can't believe how much better I hit the ball with it. Mostly because my SS is 98-100 and it's a stiff flex.

EI70 was the best feeling shaft I can remember. The original fuji speeder was pretty close. I'll also agree with the DG suggestion, in Driver/Fairway lengths an X100 is very smooth.
