46 deg PW... Whats your wedge setup?

Going to order some SM5s and have my PW at 46. I'm currently 46-52-56-60. I'm definitely not a digger and probably somewhere between a sweeper and a small divot. I'm thinking 52 F grind with 56 / 60 in the S grind.

I would go 50:54:58 or 50:55:60.

46-50-54-58 would be my choice. If you need a 60, then you could go 50-55-60 instead

When I played my PW 47/48 degrees I played the same setup as you currently play 52/56/60

I am a digger.

At 46 I have been playing 50/54/58. I prefer my current setup. As I like using the my 58 K grind out of the sand, I use the M for its versatilty as opposed to a sand iron and for most touch shots in and around the green.

I would agree with above. If a high ball hitter go with 58. If a low ball hitter go 60. Very little difference with them and just a matter of preference. Decide at the top end and then adjust the other two. May have to bend a 54 or 56 to 55 if no 55 available.

I game a 45* PW and have the 50/54/58 setup.

Really enjoy it. The 54 is a 10 bounce, 58 is a 8 bounce, 50 is a 10.

My pw is 46*, and right now I'm playing 50* 55* 60*. I have played around with 50* 54* 58*, and 52* 58* as well, and use those two set ups on some courses from time to time, but I find that the 50* 55* 60* gaps perfectly. I will swap out wedges from time to time based on conditions and courses for bounce options as well as loft. I tend to like a gap wedge that has comparable bounce to my set, a sand wedge with high bounce and heel/ toe relief grind to use for the majority of my shots around the green from decent lies, and a 60* that I can open up and flop or hit from the sand or thick rough near the green.

I went thru the same issue with strong lofts and sweeper swing - 45 degree "pitching" wedge and 49 Degree "gap" wedge that came with the iron set. I have a forged Adams CB-3 set and treat the 49 degree as an all purpose wedge for full and partial 1/2 and 3/4 shots off the fairway. My other wedges for low and high shots are:[list]
[*]Low wedge - 52-7 low bounce is great for full shots, pitches/chips off the fairway and anything from 100-75 yards. My 49 degree is forgiving and a full 15 yards longer even with only a three degree gap.
[*]High wedge - 58 -9 is perfect for shots around the green, sand and flop shots and anything in from 75 yards

This setup works for me rather than a formula. Tried the 54 and 58 and could never decide whether to use the 54 or 58. The 56 alone was too limiting. The 60 was overkill..
I used MP-T10s and am trying out some Vokeys and Callaway Forged wedges.

Yep..I used to do the 52/56/60 with a high bounce 56, but only used the 56 maybe once or twice a round. Now I just use the 58 for everything close to the green and will do a 3/4 swing with the 52 instead of a full 56

My PW is 46* and I carry a 50* and 56*. The 50* is my 115-90 yard club and the 56* is my short game and sand wedge. Any more wedges I start playing guessing games with myself and my short game goes to garbage. The 50* is my favorite club in the bag.

Why? 46 and 51 have different shafts, the 53 gaps correctly, and the 53 and 58 have different relief and different swing weights.

I play 47, 51, 55 & 59. I like the options on 3/4-full shots.

I have been playing 46 ow, 54, 58. I am going to go to a three wedge setup of 46, 52, 58. I just cannot choose which bounce to get in the 52 SM5. The 12 degree seems like quite a bit of bounce for a gap wedge. But my 54 is a 10 and my 58 is 12, I play then very well. Kinda stuck right now

[b]13 clubs in the bag last night.[/b] Rarely take more than 11 to a round of golf. I took the hybrid & SW extra last night & they'll likely stay home for the next rounds! Have carried 2 putters from time to time.

My PW is 48* (bent from 45* ) so I game the 48-52-56-60 set up but my last set which I think I was more successful with in the wedge gaps was [color=#282828]46-50-54-58. Maybe its a mental thing for me, but if I am gaming 4 wedges I need the 4* gaps. [/color]

Last 2 seasons I played a 50, 54, 58 setup. This season I'm taking out the 50, adding my 4 iron again, and putting in a 52, and 58. So, it will be PW (46), 52, and 58.
