Took the plunge and picked up a Taylormade Spider Tour black. Been an Anser guy pretty much my whole life outside of a brief stint with an Odyssey bf 7 CH. Hoping the lack of a sightline will help me break my terrible habit of watching the sightline on my takeaway with my Ansers.

Spider Mini Copper. The slant neck positions it perfectly behind the ball and the long single sight line makes for excellent alignment. Love the smaller, rounded head for my arced stroke. Never been a fan of Super Stroke grips but the stock one feels great (different than aftermarket). Not sure about the copper but that is easily remedied.

Just went with the Spider X. Have to upgrade the grip to a Superstroke 3.0. It kicked out my old Odyssey 2 ball of over 10 years.

New Project: Tour Model TaylorMade Ghost Tour DA-22 Long Neck Putter

 

I have been looking for one of these for a while. The plan is to bead blast the head to get rid of the white finish and give it a matte silver finish. I ordered a milled aluminum insert from Spry Evo to replace the Pure Roll insert. I had thought about going with a milled copper insert, but this thing already has heavier 20g weights added so the copper insert would make it weigh too much. With the aluminum insert it will weigh around 375g. After I blast it, I plan to have a top line added to it and a new shaft.

 


 


 


 


 

I have stripped the paint out and pulled out the 20g weights. Next step is removing the insert and then it will be ready for bead blasting.

I have seen them pop up on eBay from time to time. I just set an eBay search alert for Taylormade DA-22. I passed on some that were listed for ~$200, and then I found this one with a few paint chips for $75. Since I’m bead blasting it anyway the paint didn’t matter.

Just bought this Odyssey Toulon Palm Beach Stroke Lab for about 20% under RRP.

 

I’ll be putting a Winn Dri-Tac Jumbo Lite grip on it to replace the Oversize it comes with, so will look to add 10g of lead tape under the grip, or maybe not.

It's a bit dinged up but for the price I paid I can't complain and the top line view is clean so I'm happy. A very good candidate for a J-Rich restoration.

 

Also the diamond milled face is perfect just not showing well in my pic.
