What putter did you just buy ?

Thanks, i'm really happy with how it came out. Chip at Black Lab Golf produces great putters - and you can get a fully custom putter for less than an OFR Cameron.

A few of his putters have very much a Miura look to them - interesting that he buys unfinished heavy wedge head blanks directly from Miura Golf and custom mills, grounds, stamps, and polishes them...

Not enough, you need a backup to your backup and a putter for fertilized/sandy/punched greens.

So I didn't buy it, but I did putt around some today with the SeeMore Mini Giant DF, Evnroll ER7, ER8, and the Ping Fetch. I really liked the SeeMore and confirmed by original, good thoughts about the ER7. We'll see what happens, but both of those seem quite nice. I really like the Fetch as well, but not sure if it'd be the best for me as I have a slight arc in my stroke.

The WRX Ping's are nice and I get what you're saying having a lot. I have about a dozen right now, 4 putters have never been in my bag and I usually bring 2 to the course. More seeing what I like now then will sell off a bunch and buy a custom or two for what I like.

20200807-153437.jpgBeen wanting to try a topline sightline for a while. Picked this up on the ebay brand new. Played with the original superstore grip and 10g weights. Felt super light in the head. Put on the pure standard classic putter grip. And 15g weights. Was a 35" putter. Changing the grip made it play 34.5". Lighter smaller grip, heavier head. Putted well my last round with it. Playing back back days at a nice course a few hours away for a stay and play this weekend. Hoping 36+ holes will get me comfortable with it.

I am enjoying it so far, but I do have a question you might be able to answer. This thing is really heavy. At 31.5" with 30g weights and a Pure grip it's coming in at 605g. By comparison I also have a 34" Studio Select 1.5 with 15g weights that comes in at 517, so it's not just the weights.

Do you think it's full of lead dust or is the head made of something else besides the standard stainless steel? It clearly had some customization but I'm not going to pull it apart to find out.

Here's another photo with it cleaned up a bit.

*on edit, I pulled the Pure grip and discovered it weighed like 120g, so that was the issue.

Dual 30g weights are really heavy, I would try swapping in lighter ones. I am not sure what 31.5” putter should have for headweight but my 35” has 10g, 34” has 15g, so 32” would theoretically have 25g which means 30g aren’t too far off? Likely nothing special done to it weight wise or material wise, it is a really nice model putter and your clean up job looks much better than first pics.

31.5”?!? Different strokes (pun intended) but I’m 5’8 and that would seem short for me. Doesn’t that give you back issues after a round?

I missed a couple weeks as I’ve not been on WRX in quite a while. Since my last post to the thread I’ve exclusively started collecting unique items or long necks.

Some I don’t have photos of, but the list is as follows.
- Cleveland TA Milled 2

- Hiro Matsumoto MZ-7

- Mizuno T-301

- Hiro Matsumoto 2000S (limited run of 2000)

- Yes Nanda Tour (Limited run of 50)

Picked up a Sigma 2 Valor last weekend. Initially thought the adjustable shaft was a gimmick and, well, stupid, but after playing around with it I think it's a game-changer. I always have gravitated towards a 34" putter but in messing around I settled in at 33.5" which has offered significantly better consistent strikes than what I was getting with slightly more length.

Recently retired my 009M and went mallet. Got a fitting done and realized I'm a straight back putter and was just fighting with blades. In the past 5 months went through Spider X, Stroke Lab Ten, and currently gaming Evnroll ER 10, 34" 370g. Putting lights out with the Evnroll inside 10 feet but I'm finding I need to putt harder to get more distance. Not sure if it's the Evnroll face or the fact that it's a heavier putter.

However, I think the biggest thing helping me is the Evnroll Gravity Grips. They have a metal rod on the back of the grip which makes the sides flatter. It's really acting like a putting aid where I know what the club face is doing. I feel I would putt well with either 3 of the putters with this grip.

Went on CPO and thought I was buying a “outlet” condition regular San Diego. They sent this clean beauty from the Toulon garage. Great surprise to say the least.

Buying from CPO anything Very Good or better is basically brand new, I've seen people get heads wrapped in plastic when buying very good.
