Sweet putter and doggo in one pic, that's what I'm talking about.

First impressions on the putter? I'm really curious on them and with a lot of other putter makers raising their prices might as well go all out with a NCW.

Thanks for the kind words - Goose appreciates it.

The putter is fantastic. Have rolled it for about a month and everything about it feels really good - I have never been more confident over 10-12 foot putts. The only thing that I wanted to change was to add 10 more grams of weight to the head (340g->350g to help with pace on my longer putts) and swap out the face (nothing wrong with the old face but the stuff that he has been putting out recently is awesome!).

Al at NCW is fantastic to work with and can pretty much print anything you can dream up.

I will update post-face lift (pun intended).

I've only heard good things about their putters, I'm bugging Al often with question on IG when they have their weekly question posts. Trying to decide what I'd want but way too many options since they can build literally anything. Might wait for a pre-order to save a few bucks if they can do the mods I want.

But can't wait to see what it looks like when it comes back and hope it rolls even better than before.

Picked up an Odyssey SL One from BST. Never had a classic blade-style putter before and wanted to mess around with one this winter as I work on my putting indoors. Got the shaft cut and new grip installed last night to match the shaft. Already rolling it well and liking this, fits my 4-5 degree arc stroke well. Pretty heavy overall which I like, but it's playing at C5 after cutting to 33.5". 25g weights on the way to put it around D6ish and headweight at 380g. Stoked!

I bought an off brand Bionik 105 half mallet like an old classic Dunlop putter that I had in the 90's with a round grip per the forum's advice and I've never putted so well in my life, one month and running.

Edited by chipa

"Shirtsleeve" swing technique:

1. Setup: Elbows bent forearms pressed together against shaft slightly forward of center with "Hogan" "active/flexed" leg tension left foot turned out slightly and the right leg slightly farther to the right - weight mostly on balls of feet butt of left hands sits on the top of the grip with very light grip.

2. Swing - W/o disturbing weight distribution of legs and feet lower hands while doing a forward press "swing trigger" then the left upper arm takes over on the backswing, it needs to go out in front of the body then back in front of the chest as the hands trace down initially then up to over the right shoulder "Torres". The goal is to not disturb the pressure of the feet during the initial takeaway.

Notes:

1. Only swing thought after swing trigger - extend left arm at shirt sleeve when reaching left hand over right shoulder "Shirtsleeve technique".

2. The upper left arm move "Shirtsleeve technique" can be practiced independently without a club, sitting down for instance

3. The correct feet tension can be felt by doing very short hops on the balls of the feet then holding the same feeling of pressure on the front of the feet and then taking three practice swings with the grip very loose in order to not disturb the same pressure on the feet and on the 3rd swing actively do the "Shirtsleeve" move. From there the swing should be done within a matter of seconds to not lose the feel of the legs resisting, this way this is not a learned technique as much as it is a setup technique.

Shocked these don't get more love on this board. I stayed away for so long after the comments about the "marshmello" insert and whippy shaft.

This was recently part of a rental set I used and I loved it! The insert is soft but the club still makes a metal "PING" sound when putting and definitely not marshmello soft even with my Chrome Soft Ball choice. The pro adjusted the length for me to 34". When I was done I asked him what he thought of the putter and he laughed and pointed to his bag which had a Fetch in it. He said that once you get over 35" you can feel the shaft getting a little "responsive" but he plays his at 34" and for sure he hasn't ever felt anything whippy or loose; nor did I. Said he thought for sure once he had the length locked in he'd order a fixed length shaft but has never felt the need to.

Scotty Cameron Newport Special Select, 33" w/ 40g weights.  First Cameron putter in a long time that has had the feel I love (have an original '97 Newport, original Newport TeI3, and a Pro Platinum Newport Mil-Spec that I've been rotating the past few seasons).  Beyond the feel, to my eye it just sets up so well behind the ball, can't wait to get it out on the course instead of just the practice green!

Hmmm. If this grip is rubber, it looks pretty similar to the grip that came on my TP Mills; except mine doesn’t have the texture. See below. I really, really like my grip a lot. The grip is great and tacky even when a little wet, without getting greasy like a Pure grip. It also promotes the right amount of hand tension. I highly recommend it and I actually prefer it over the Pure and Gripmaster leather grips on my other putters.

To me it's the perfect grip. I love the red star but always want a cord option whenever possible since I don't play a glove.

Is the red star you most traditional shape (not very good with different style putter grips!)

Yes, I believe it is.  It has a similar profile to PING's PP58 Midsize but more like a pistol grip.  I have the Red Star on both of my putters.

Nothing too exciting, but have acquired a complimentary set to one another to keep a simple rotation. Will mainly be in the Newport, but have the Fastback for when I’m struggling.

I do love these new grips from Golf Pride though. I was a long time user of the SuperStroke Pistol Tour.

wanted so much the bettinardi to win out , it’s absolutely stunningly

bagged for now cameron NP modified

cameron NP 35.25”

(34” weighted head 353~ 2 35g weights at 35.25” length  )

ysc stepped Shaft ,

given the longer length / heavier head weight  the stock shaft IMOP is not bad , would like to try another KBS putter shaft  .   Used the YSC stepped for a long time , really earns its mark on the longer putts feeling the putter release.

golf pride Pro putter grip cord - green star

hated the black version , liking the cord grey

this just makes smooth 6ft putts , love the bettinardi , made in the us , the feel and look much better but I’m not just quite as confident with it as the cameon.  Maybe I’ll set it up exactly the same and see , but it’s cameron for now .  Heck I don’t even like the sight line on the cameron

All of you guys posting pictures of the Pro Only Cord grips are really making me want to run out and grab one to throw on one of my putters. The red star shape is great in the normal rubber. I really like the feel of Ping's corded putter grip but feel like Lamkin's is a little too rough. When I picked up a Pro Only at the store the other day, it definitely felt more like the Ping version. It helps that they look really sharp.

If they were just $10, I'd grab all three colors and play around a bit with the air compressor. It's too bad they went with a higher price point on the corded.

I have already replaced the shaft and grip to a KBS C-Taper 120 6 iron shaft tipped 2" and a Gripmaster Roo paddle ........

Looks so nice and clean. What is the toe hang with that neck?
