other than SLDR, what other low spin drivers

I have tried the 460 SLDR and the 430 SLDR, and couldn't stand either one of them. I don't like the head weight or the feel off the face. As much as I would like to jump on the bandwagon, I haven't found a setup I could hit well. So what are my other options to get on the low spin bandwagon.

I played with a buddy today and we both hit good drives on a par 5. When he hit his ball, he landed 50 yards behind my ball and caught up to it with the roll. I carried my drive 270 and got a whopping 10 yards of roll, while he carries it 240 and gets it right up there next to me. He swings 105 and I swing around 112.

I have a couple drivers laying around. Today I played with my 10.5 Cleveland classic x custom with a 6th shaft. I hit it well, just don't get a lot of roll. I also have a Bertha 2014 with a Kai Li 60. Love that set up, but same thing, hit it well but not much roll. I'm playing that as a 9.5 head with minus 1 degree setting. I also have a R1 v2, nike covert tour and a x2 hot pro.

Suggestions?

Bio Cell and Bio Cell Plus...look at all the threads about them. I switched from Sldr to both Cobras.

If you didn't like the SLDR, I second the above. Try the biocell+ or biocell pro. The two best drivers I've hit this year are the SLDR and biocell+. Cobra always produces fantastic drivers, IMO. I'm probably going to pick up a bio cell pro eventually.

I disagree with the above statement...with my Sldr I was only getting about 10 yd of roll out, with the Bio cell carrying 10 yd less than Sldr but rolling out 10-15 yd further

So you're recommending the OP to buy a new $300 dollar driver based on your personal results of gaining 0-5 yds of distance over the SLDR? Haha

Yup, also went from hitting really bad hooks with the Sldr to straight Bombs with the Bio Cell. Misses with the Bio Cells aren't anywhere near as bad as they are with Sldr. I'm not the only one, there's a bunch of guys talking about the Hooks with Sldr. The Op asked about other drivers, simply have a suggestion.

I'm not making any argument as to which club is better. The OP is frustrated because his buddy gets 50 yards of roll while he gets 10. I have no problem believing he could get another 10-15 yds of roll with the Cobra, but he will still be having the same problem. He'd be getting 25 yds of roll while his buddy with a slower swing speed is getting twice that. A difference that big is the swing, not the club.

Question to the OP, if you think its the club that is making the difference, why not just buy what your buddy is using?

Biggest thing is GO GET FIT. I have a buddy that won the taylormade fitting and he easily gets 20-25 yrds of roll. He does the same by me some of the time. I get no roll ever, i need to go get fit myself. It will cost you a lot less then buying all these drivers and tossing money at shafts. Do it once do it right.

He uses a sldr 430. I have tried hitting it multiple times. Every time it's pretty much the same, slight mishit, low hook. I'm sensitive to swing weight, and the sldr just feels like a sledgehammer to me. As far as it being my swing, I don't have issues with any other clubs. I was hitting my 3 deep yesterday 40 yards past him when we were both hitting 3 wood. He uses the sldr st 3 wood. I was hitting GPS confirmed 275-280 yard 3 woods. I figure my driver should be good for another 20 over that.

Bio cell pro. Your welcome.

I see that cobra states the weight is low and back, that's completely opposite of sldr which is higher and forward. Is the bio cell pro as low spin?

On a side note, my swing coach has changed my swing quite dramatically. We are in the finishing stages of the change. This has been a 1 1/2 year commitment. A couple months ago my spin rates were ridiculous low. I was seeing sub 1000 spin with sldr and alpha. But after some more changes in my transition, spin has crept up into the 2000 range.

i25, anser, i20. The i25 is a great balanced driver with relatively low spin and yet forgiving. If you can overcome the sound of the i25, it's hard to beat. I recently parted ways with my i25, but am really thinking of custom ordering another one after my sldr vs i25 trial yesterday.

I think the sldr (white) looks and sounds better than the i25, but the i25 is just more consistent for me. I will give it further thought before I reach my final conclusion.

Feel is everything, OP I'm right there with you. SLDR sounds and feels horrible in my hands. IMHO, the purest feeling driver out there is the Titleist 913. Unfortunately however just a driver switch isn't gonna solve your issue. If you want max roll , launch and carry... Ya gotta get fit.

Getting fit isn't a problem, I am a certified kbs fitter, just need to get some ideas where to start head wise. Once I get that nailed down, I can start with shafts

Check into the Tour Edge XCG7 Beta. Adjustable, naturally open but able to square it in a reasonable loft with the adjustability, and pretty low spin. I can't judge roll right now, as we're having an extremely wet spring, but I'm getting some healthy results with mine. Trajectory is pretty low for the 10.5° setting I'm using.

By way of contrast, my 9° R11s was set one notch lower.

Stock 7m3.1 shaft seems fairly decent, as well. I wouldn't say it's as stout as the "real" 7m3, but it's been very solid.

When I hit this last December with my rusty, offseason, I've-not-touched-a-club-in-weeks swing, I was seeing spin in the 2500 rpm range, using the 10.5° loft setting, using a flex I felt was slightly soft for me. An interesting side effect of this club in this testing session is I didn't see much ball speed loss from contact on various not-so-great spots on the clubface.

In other words, apparently forgiving yet with low spin, in a sub-460cc size.

I HIGHLY recommend people check this club out.

Did he get fix on a trackman? What is his angle to the ground? As just talking about it doesn't help and can't really explaning anything.
