The Wager...

PeanutsDaddy, Golf64, Nuggets and Myself have a friendly Wager(Gentlemens Bet, No Money) that's about to begin starting on Aug 1, No More Club Purchases! Headcovers, balls and accessories are fine but no Clubs. From August 1 2014 on, It's run what ya brung, if it's in the stable already you can play it, but no new additions. We'll see who can hold out the longest, we are WRXers after all lol.

 

Well it has been a loooong 8 months but we made it through for the most part, only a few hours left to wait now. Here's a link to the Post Wager wrap up thread, Thank You to everyone who joined in or followed along with us. We couldn't have made it through it with out you guys :D

This is what current in the bag right now, same as my Sig minus I have the G20 driver in right now for the K15.

I was thinking about that also, some poor CEO's child may miss out on a post secondary education. But I'm sure they'll be okay

If I remember correctly its think its No reshafts, no regrips, no trimming/extending, I can't remember if you can bend a club or not.

I've just stumbled upon this thread and I'm listed in it. Thus, I figure it's fair game to ask a few questions.

1) Who's PeanutsDaady?
2) Gentlemen's bet my arse. I was under the impression we were battling for a $10 Tim Horton's gift card. Shipped by the loser to the winner, via Canada Post.
3) What's with all these beautiful pictures. Now I've got to take shots of my entire bag and I don't know how to work the camera.

5 wood and new bag were purchased yesterday. You boys are in for a battle of attrition. The PD shows no mercy when a large coffee with triple milk is on the line.

Sleep well knowing that tomorrow's your last opportunity to splurge. Gentlemen, close your wallets.

We didn't discuss grips, thankfully I've hoarded a few (5 dozen).

You're telling me I can't tinker. What the heck did I buy all this club building equipment for?

Good to hear you still got to get the clubs before the deadline, when are they supposed to arrive? What did you end up getting? I think my splurging is done except forgetting my Cleveland 60* bent back to 60* for the weekend, it's at 58* right now from when I was trying out the 52*/58* setup.

Are you guys supposed to have nice weather tomorrow?

I couldn't remember if it was discussed or not, I'm cool with tinkering if you guys are. Now I need to buy some grips tomorrow lol.

I'm not a gambling man, but a Timmies card will be pure gold in my pocket.

A Wishon 949mc 5 wood (hand selected to 17.5*) with a Wishon White S2S stiff flex shaft will be the last club added to the stable.

Weather forecast for tomorrow. 15* Celsius at tee off, 21* when we are set to finish. 10 - 15 km/h wind.

Golf64 and I are going to have a great morning. We'll be talking about how we are going to 'take you out' and split our winnings ; )

Load up until Aug. 1. Apparently everything in the stable is good to go. Awesome challenge.

Since returning to the US I have changed my putter 5 times in 2 months, got a new set of irons, a new hybrid, new 3 wood, and new driver....oh and new wedges as well. Essentially a new bag. Only thing I did not change was my bag.. Wow I have a serious problem.

I'm by no means a big club ho, but even I just can't help buying a new club here and there. I only buy second hand cheap stuff, but I just can't stop no matter how well I play with what I have.

The other way to do it is to sell off the clubs you don't use. I have been experimenting with many irons in the last years and this week I put 5 sets on ebay plus some individual items.

That forces me to play the 6 iron sets I have left.

It's progress of a sort......
