Don't quite know where to post this, so I guess its here. As a newcomer, I need a bit of a history lesson. What is/was the "Niles Hoard" that I keep seeing referenced? TIA.

Bought these for $20. 2-9 Powerbilt Levelume's along with Citation 3 and 5w's and a Wilson Medalist PW

Pretty dirty with some surface rust. Grips are old and cracked. Gave them a quick clean and hit some on the range.

The shafts must be close to Regular as I had no problem hitting them and they felt pretty good. The Medalist felt heavier and stiffer.

Did not hit any good shots with the woods. Would need some practice with them!
WOW I played with a set of those for years literally wore them out!!! That is one of my top sets of irons of all times along with my current gamers and Mizuno MP-33s and Mac Vips Mine were a little different though mine had the HB with the horse shoe on the toe I think they were 66/67 vintage. I can give you an insight on Power Bilt shafts they are actually True Temper marked with H&B logos A 3 is a S-300 a 2 is a R-300 there were no "senior flex'" soft shafts in those days

Well since we are in a sharing mood, here is my favorite JP. Collector's edition from 1993 Ryder Cup at The Belfry..
Well someone did it again and this time it happened to be you--- relax thats a good thing. I have a USA Belfry Ryder cup Miller bag in my collection not one that a player actually used but one of the commerative editions. I actually got it 2 years ago out of a junked car when I was in the wrecker business. it goes along with my Valderama one I bought at a yard sale 5 or 6 years ago for $20 full of clubs mostly junk. I have absolutely got to make time to learn how to post pics on here

Picked up these old Palmers today.. Very nice condition, needs some cleaning. Spoon (3), Cleek (4), Baffy (5).. Sadly no driver..

Might need to send them to the Bay. Not sure yet.. Might need to play them!

Just returned from my "mini hoard" run. This young fellow was cleaning out his late father's house and just wanted to give these away to a good home......for FREE. Good number of classic woods and irons. No complete set of irons.

Hogan Speed Slot 1,3,5 Hardly been hit.

Toney Penna TP59 #1. Looks like its been hit once.

MacGregor DX2W 4W Keyhole.

Last, really don't know what this is. Stamped "R. P. Roy" on the crown. Looks like the guy started a refinish project on it. It's the oldest looking one of the whole bunch.

Saw a Ram Tom Watson Tour Grind SW, a Bullseye, Wilson JPII SW. Misc. Mac irons including a #2 Colokrom. Need to do a full inventory of what's here.

Needless to say, pretty stoked.....still kind of shaking. Felt like a thief in the night.

Big Stu, Power Bilt Swing True SS 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 ,9.

It was about a sixty mile round trip, but well worth it. Also stopped on the way back and bought a bag (primarily for this) with a bunch of Spauldings and a Wilson Tour Block for $10. Think I have a problem.

I am going to have to find the one set (or maybe four sets).

Gotta stop this compulsive purchasing. Gah.

I remember when I had one bag and was happy with it.

Fellaheen, your quote reminds me of something from Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books (specifically from "The Restaurant at the End of the Universe" IIRC). For those not familiar,

“There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.
There is another theory which states that this has already happened.”

Golden Ram Tour Grind Axial. Forged USA. DG (255 cycles. R?). 3 - PW. NO 5i. Hello, I'm looking.

Good shape with just a slight bit of bag chatter. Faces excellent. Just need a little spit and polish to clean them up. Thrift store pickup for $4.50 (green tag, 50% off day).

Yeah right, just what one needs, more irons. But........they were cheap. Can't resist cheap. Did I mention that I'm looking for a 5 iron?

I've been attempting to research a couple of woods that I picked up in post #132 to no avail. The Googles, Clubs of Distinction, and eBay haven't given me anything. Both clubs have been stripped of finish but sole plates (quite worn), shafts and grips (leather) are still there. Trying to figure out just what they are and whether to consider any refurbishing.

Stamped "R. P. Roy" on crown. Model No. 77 and Reg. No. 3525 on a steel (?) sole.

MacGregor Ben Hogan Parmaker #3. Only thing I've been able to discover is that it was called a "Claw Foot".

Probably these are nothing special. Just want to make sure before consigning them to the closet. TIA.

Not a bad day at the Thrift store today. Picked up 3 Jimmy Demaret MacGregor Master irons (3, 5, 7). Would love the rest of the set for sure! Also couldn't resist this single Walter Hagen Ultra 6- iron, just looked too nice to pass up and finally picked up a set of MacGregor Tom Weiskopf Signature irons, reg 705. 2 - 9 irons, no wedge sadly. All with Macgregor Tour Flex aluminum shafts and original grips. Total price, $12.00!!
