Not enough real information out about it yet.

I hope the price point is as low as you suggest, though it is all rumor right now.

I don't use an Ipad, so I'll have to wait until they announce any pc/sim software.

I'm trying not to be excited - I have found the LM/Sim market disappointing.

I agree. I feel like the top manufacturers are keeping the pertinent data for only their highest cost units ($5,000+).

i will wait for tech to get cheaper (as it always does) and pay $1,000 for a unit that gives me everything i need to gain knowledge of my swing and stats; but as you, I will not hold my breath

It has wifi so will connect to a laptop or PC with that too, just need to have the app downloaded which I'm sure is possible on non IOS/Android systems....

I don't get why companies in this market hold back with all the features on the top spec products, surely they see that the retail market wants this info/data too. So why not sell 100000's+ units at a grand ish a piece, rather than a few hundred/thousand for $5K a piece....

So it is from sky golf, as per sky caddie? No subscription fees I hope....

Looks very neat, maybe this is the LM at nearly the price point WRXers have been begging for?
It is from SportTrack, no relation to sky caddie.

I'm confused because the first video on the website has the instructor wearing a 'sky caddie' t shirt, and in the background poster bottom right in blue it says 'sky golf'.

No matter if its from a big company so much the better for after sales support.

One would have to believe that the makers of the Vector Pro, Accusport, didn't just wake up one morning and think, "Ya know, I'm a bit tired of making launch monitors. I think we'll just close 'er down." You have to think that they saw something big on the horizon, and, with the rapid change in technologies, that they just decided that it was time to cut bait. Maybe this was the thing they knew was coming -- or maybe something even bigger is looming. Who knows?

Um, is the costs part on the other page?

This information has been around for years (ball speed, launch angle, back spin, side spin, spin angle) but all of this is POST shot measurements, i.e. after the cluhead hits the ball. It is much more difficult from a photometric standpoint to capture club head delivery (face angle, swing path, face to path, attack angle) which tells you more about WHY your shots are going where they are than just the POST shot measurements. We have been working with FlightScope, Trackman, Foresight for quite some time and believe me, the technology it takes to track and/or measure club head delivery is significant(i.e. costs a lot!!). If you REALLY want to improve your game you need the PRE shot measurements (swing path, face angle, face to path, attack angle, dynamic loft to know what you need to fix to optimize your ball flight and distance. At least the old Golf Achiever (Focaltron) gives pretty reliable clubhead delivery information at a very reasonable price. Photometric and Doppler radar units will continue to be the best for capturing all of the correct data and that comes at a price.

I think the big draw for this unit is accurate data that is easy to get. $1,500 for accurate data is reasonable and I'm really thinking of getting one.

It's not a trackman and it wouldn't be useful for teaching, but to hit balls in your house and get accurate data - this thing looks awesome.

My thoughts exactly, assuming it is accurate.

i bought a used vector pro last fall and they mentioned support would end this summer sometime due to a new product they were working on. so this is it i guess. so instead of 2 photos this one takes multiples to i assume get a more precise measuement. when i talked to accusport they hoped to get this unit around 1,000. i just wish they'd join up with ea sports or something to make this unit ablr to connect to a console and play a tiger woods like game.

wow, roughly 2,000 bucks in japan. at that price why not go flightscope for the same data
You'll spend at least double that to get a Flighscope that offers the same data. The Flightscope Xi doesn't offer any launch angle data, you have to go up to at least the Xi+ to get any launch angle data.
