DG X7's installed

Wow wow WOw wow

Didn't think those shaft would make that much of a difference ; IMOP the X7 make the heads come alive , which I wouldn't think was possible in an iron head

97-99 mph 6i with dgx7 I get about another mph club head speed

X7 mp18 , 32* 6i

Low to mid spin - 5700 to 6000

Very tight dispersion

Flight is awesome , this six iron has with limited testing been the best to flight , can get it from 80ft to 120ft

Carry 203-210

Testing and will post some follow up on

- New lamkin cord grips (while I love my tour issue zcord .580s with a passion but so much work to get my hands on them , they have lasted and performed wonderfully )

- working with wedges - 2017 for me is ending in the “great wedge war”

- ordered wedge works sm6 60* m grind 10*

- bagged a sm6 52* 08* f grind bent to 54* 10

~ ordered some dg x 7 wedge shafts to Test

- going back to 36” wedge length

- Circa 2012 back up | bought a Scotty don Cameron Newport to mess with (Bettinardi is going nowhere ) just a back up ; Bettinardi fly mill much better performing , blank tri sole is borderline putting borderline religious experience #milledintheuss ; putter length back to 35”

- get a grip | standardized across putters the ping pp58 midsized , Hate the counter weight if it’s 85 gram heft (good 10-15 grams more than my other grip options ) the D shape after a lot of trial and erro fits my stroke. I’m a of a little vanity with suffering some consternation with a ping on the betti , I tiger camo’d it (black sharpie ) sum of all fears vanished (insert a lot of sarcasm)

Mp18 are awesome, titleist 718s are tempting with the smaller blade length but the mizunos have that better feel and better Tech than he titleists

New Wedges

60*

Wedge Works 60* M 10 bounce is fantastic on full and half shots , have the benefit of the bounce but if you have to lay it open and sky it, club head design still allows that shot. **the brushed finish is awesome compared to retail**

Next wedge somewhat of an experiement

54*

Stock Vokey 52* 8 Bouce F Grind , bent to 54* - This club Ill use for full shots more so than the other wedge.

- Per vokey’s site last sm5 vs the sm6 no change on the design , but the 46 to 52* wedges in the SM6 have lower CG to decrease flight, so why not take advantage of a design change

- Less off set bent 2* Weak

- More loft more bounce 8 to 10

- I play my wedges about 1.25 over 35” , the 52 head is 2 swing weights lighter so when lengthened Sw isn’t out of control.

They make that high bounce M in 56? Need one if so. I still like zero bounce on the low wedge but the sm6 M could use a little more bounce.

No M wedge works 56 , closest I think might be a V grind wedge works 56 (10 bounce )

Or take a 54* M 8 bounce bend it weak and it would be 10 bounce at 56 (2 weak loft)

Update c taper vs dg x7

Like the weight heavier weight of the x7 better

Little more shot shape with c taper

Go with out fear on x7

C taper a Bit less demanding

Note I lengthened my irons out .5 “ mizunos std un gripped measured , and from 7 iron down .25 walk down in length 9i is about an 1” over

36” wedges c taper x

Looking good!

Thanks ; will have to see how durable the new Lamkin’s are

.580 z cord ribbed are amazing but just too damned hard to find. Finding them was like a quest in a J. R. R. Tolkien novel

Good ole crossline cord will be the back up option if needed

It’s plausible to walk with, but if your frequently carrying your bag, the I’d go with the players 4. This thing is very well made, and if it m walking i put it on a push cart. If the players 4 had the magnetic pocket for a range finer I would be gaming one of those now. Yes Yes I bought the bag for two reasons, that magnetic pocket and the materials.... Players 4 IMOP offers better colors.

What I would really like is a VESSEL bag , OH MY
