Stainless, pretty standard milling, really feels nice, played with it twice more last week and still it is thumbs up all around. I'm still trying a few different grips.

So I was doing my normal carousing at my local Edwin watts and I found this putter in the used section. I picked it up and it immediately felt heavier. I really liked the feel after rolling the rock on the practice green so I took a closer look. It seems like the weight is a lot heavier among a few other difference when comparing it to an exact same putter they had at the store. I also noticed there was no serial number on mine compared to the retail as well as there being a different insert (non roll grove with RH initials). The grip was also different (grip similar to the justin Rose special release spider) and the shaft was the fancy black ghost shaft. Long story short I boight it for $60 and now am wondering if it's a tour issue club. There's alot of tour players in my area so it's clmpletely possible! Maybe you experts can help me!

Has anyone had the opportunity to see and/or roll one of the new Taylormade Arc putters? I think they are Japan only at this point, but I'd love to give one a roll and for a Japan only putter, the price is really not too bad.

Yes it is. It has the tour only grip and the insert is milled. Those 2 features were not offered at retail.

[/quote]I'm big on the super stroke flatso right now. have that on a couple itsy bitsy's and really like it. the regular seems to work for me more comfortably than the mid.

still getting used to the tour issue weighted grips. I like the idea of the counter balance but so used to the larger super strokes now. feels thin.

I had just installed the Flatso Ultra when I noticed the ghost finish was beginning to peel on the topline, it is back with BOS now and I 'm confident that they will take care of the problem. I have a 2.0 on my other Tour IBS which was made for Pat Perez and I like it alot as well.

Thanks for the response Ed. Looking through the pictures you definitely have some nice TM putters. It's a shame I have to replace the tour only grip since it is pretty worn. Any suggestions on replacements? I can guess that the tour grip currently on there is not readily available.

Is it worn or just dirty? Some Dawn and a scrubbing sponge might clean it right up. A true tour grip is hard to get hold of. I would try and clean it. If not, and you really do need to change, I would look at the retail replacement. To keep the counterbalance weighting in place. Some guys have had good luck using a Super Stroke.

You are right! The feature your putter has that is very unique is the "TaylorMade" badge in the cavity. I am not sure if I have seen that before. If I have, it was once or twice. Not normal at all.

Not exactly Tour issue, but I did pull the trigger on a Japan only Arc putter that should be here in a week or two, will post some pics and impressions once it arrives.

Ed, that SpiderBlade 2.0 with the slant neck is something I have been looking for, forever! Just ordered the Ghost Tour Black and you have seen the drama I went through to get that thing right, but if they ever released the 2.0 in a slant instead of just the plumber neck, I would be all over it!

The blue face will grow on you, I bet! What I like about this one is the insert is very firm. More so than the other 80/20 inserts I have. Very solid putter.

Unfortunately the tour grip was starting to flake so I had to replace it. I had my local shop replace it with the black Winn 15 putter grip, which I read was the same grip used by TM on their counterbalance putters. I asked him to keep everything the same...weight, layers of grip tape, etc and it came out good. Black grip and black shaft looks tight as well! Now if only I can get the speed control down I will be money. Practice, practice, practice.....

My Tour IB Spider came back from BOS yesterday as well, they redid the finish and it looks marvelous, just a word to say that George at Torrey Rat Golf was awesome to work with me and take care of all the coordination with BOS. He great to figure out all the custom work, the paintfill, and the milling on the face. He also hooked me up with a sweet custom laser engraved black shaft that completes the package. When the finish had issues, George took it back to BOS and got it all worked out, even threw in some personalized stamping on the neck for the trouble. George is just minutes from BOS and his help made everything so much easier, I'd recommend him highly if refinish is in your future!
