This is a funny thread. Seems like some of you guys have no clue what forgiving means. Half of these are well into the less forgiving range of the forged cb type, and some of them are actually muscle cavities. Yes, they are more forgiving than blades, but that wasn't the op's question.
[/quote]

If you go through all of the threads of people asking this same basic question, you will see the same results. Single digit handicappers recommending more forgiving players irons. Just because it is a cavity back, it does not make it a forged, forgiving game improvement iron. They are actually doing a disservice to the OP. As a former high handicapper that improved my game to become a mid handicapper, if I used most of the recommendations, I would become a high handicapper again.

Why are you recommending a blade players iron when the OP is requesting the most forgiving forged iron? The is in no way shape or form even close to what is being asked. Using an iron like the MP 33 would probably add 10 strokes to their score.

Amp Forged, TM 300, Mizuno MX25, Adams Idea Pro Forged, J38DPC, Cobra S2 Forged, Fourteen TC-910 and the Srixons.

I bagged a set of MP H4's yesterday for the first time, also the first time I have owned forged irons. I play G25's normally. I had no issues yesterday, hit the ball great. These irons are fantastic, one round in, and the G's look to be sidelined. The turf interaction is miles better for me.

They are not the most popular options, but if you haven't given either cobra amp forged, or amp cell pro at least a try, you are making a mistake IMO. Both buttery soft, long, and forgiving.

I read this from a lot of other guys. The Amp Cell Pro is for slightly better players, but the Amp Forged is, as one guy put it "AP2 look, but AP2 on steroids performance". Haven't been able to try it but it gets a lot of recommendations.

Most of these are in no way what the OP is asking for. Most of these have increased forgiveness for a skilled golfer but are not a highly forgiving forged iron for a average weekend golfer. Most of these would be classified a forgiving players iron.

Yeah, the Amp forged are my gamers and they won't be out of my bag any time soon. If they weren't orange, there would be twice as many playing them, they are that good.

I will add one more that will be available starting on November 14th, the TaylorMade RSi 2. I hit them while being fitted as part of the TaylorMade RSi Iron Launch event. I had my VRS Forged with me so they could be compared to the RSi 1 and 2. On the mishits I was 10 yards shorter with the VRS Forged and only 3 yards shorter with the RSi 2. On the solid hits, both carried 150 yards. I ended up being fitted with the RSi 1. It was just slightly more forgiving than the RSi 2, it was 8 yards longer, and did not have the harsh cast feel that drove me to forged irons. Hopefully within the next few weeks I will have a full review of the RSI 1 when I receive my irons from TaylorMade.

I cant believe there is no love for the Srixon 545s on here. They are almost a game improvement forged iron in my eyes. They were super easy to hit, head is a bit larger, and felt buttery on good strikes.

Mizuno mx300?? I know they are a older model. Currently in my bag although I am looking to upgrade to the jpx 850 if I can get the shaft right. I played titleist for years but never really got anywhere with them, was never a great striker of the ball even though I'm a decent golfer. 300's changed that and I have knocked 3 shots of my handicap since I put them in the bag 3 years ago. Mizuno convert here!!

2013 ONOFF FORGED.

Makes use of tungsten in the longer irons. Gorgeous and amazingly soft. Really neat laser face milling. Shame more people don't give them a shot.

best answer so far. the 2011 and 2013 on offs are both extremely forgiving all over the face.

I would go with the forged-faced Cleveland TT's or MT's. I personally prefer the TT's, but higher handicappers may find the wider faces and soles and the hollow design of the MT model a bit more forgiving.

The heads on these feel as soft as any fully-forged clubhead I have ever hit despite the fact that only the faces are forged, not the full clubhead. TM seems to like the design of the TT's as well, because their SLDR iron design looks very similar to the TT's but with weaker lofts.

I feel the 588 MT/TT irons are very underrated sticks indeed, possibly due to the stock Cleveland Traction-85 steel shafts. With a premium steel shaft, these irons are the cat's meow! (I ordered mine with Project-X shafts in 5.5 flex). Be prepared for extra distance because these irons do have extra-stong lofts. Easily a club and a half longer than traditionally-lofted iron sets. The stock steel shafts are longer than standard too, contributing to distance gains, (5-iron = 38.5"). I ordered my PX shafts the same length as the stock shaft since I like my irons 1/2" overlength anyway, and also prefer a heavier feel for good control. My TT set with PX shafts at the stock Cleveland shaft length have a swingweight of D-5 which feels absolutely perfect to me! I am loving these 588 TT's!
