Thanks for the all info. Having never bought anything Nike but definitely looking at making some purchases this year, forgive my ignorance over the question but how does Nike handle upcharges for swapping out shafts in irons - I have never gotten on very well with Dynamic Gold and prefer Project X - would i be looking at a significant amount of money in addition to the cost of the irons? Appreciate any info.

Great stuff as always, Tai, thanks very much and looking forward to the T-Man numbers. The departure from red and the head shapes all look to be nice improvements.

I think, but not positive, that PX is a $20 upcharge/club.

Is the Vapor Pro as fade bias as the CT 2.0 was? Also, not sure if you addressed it earlier, but how is the forgiveness? I thought the VR Pro was very forgiving for what it was, CT 1.0 not so much, CT 2.0 a little better.
I would say it's more neutral biased, but again, I need to get a shaft to my spec in it before I can say for certain. I did hit a few tight draws with the stock shaft in it, when you hit it good it just sounds so pure (like Tiger's VR in the past, when he was hitting it well). I hit a few off the heel, forgiveness seemed pretty good, I don't want to say better than my SLDR yet, but definitely right in line so far. Feel/sound across the face felt pretty good, the SLDR can get really harsh outside of the dead middle.

Great review & pics thank you! Did you hit the speed driver?
Not yet, but plan on getting it on the Trackman when I test them. I was mainly focusing all my attention on the Pro :)
Great review once again Tai. Really like the look of the new drivers and fw's. I am most curious about the Vapor Flex though, it really sounds like it could be something really different from all other drivers.
I'm interested in seeing how the Flex works out as well. The Flex model isn't as readily available as the others were, but as soon as I can get my hands on it, I will hit it and report back. Most of the people were saying that I would like the Pro the best, and didn't know a ton about the flex just yet.

Are these woods compatible with the old adapters?
I think all Vapor heads (adjustable) are compatible with the adapters for the Covert line.

Just the new 2015 adapters are lighter.

That's awesome. There is mass surplus of demo cart Speeders with Covert tips on eBay. Just thinking ahead.

Yet another legendary thread in the making...

Good comparisons, photos and thoughts, so far. It's nice to hear that the volt on the crown isn't as blinding and/or distracting as many thought it may be. Looking forward to how this shakes out on Trackman. I can't believe that you'll get more out of the Vapor than you do the SLDR/Rogue setup (too dirty), but if you see similar numbers, with similar (or added) forgiveness, that would be really impressive.

Thanks for all of the time you put into these comparisons and reviews.

Thanks Mikey. I was skeptical at first when I saw these pictures, but after hitting them on the course, I'm really excited to try them out against my SLDR/Rogue which I know will be really tough to beat. Love the head shapes on them, I plan on getting a 757 spec'd out to get on to a Trackman at Cool Clubs, hopefully they will have a 915 D3 by then for me to test it against. That would be quite the shootout.. Hmm.. :butcher:

Are the heads matte black or gloss? Tai, your pics are gloss, but the catalog looks like matte. I prefer gloss personally.
They are glossy. I think the gloss finish looks really great, the paint scheme actually looks really nice and subdued, but definitely says "Nike" when you see it. The matte black finishes in general, IMO, have always looked really cheap.. but again, all personal preference.
I'll be following this one closely, I had similar gripes about the CT2.0 as you did, head to heavy ect. I was hitting my 913 decent this year, tinkered with the SLDR (tried it with a 757 and attas 5 gogo) but couldn't get comfortable with it to warrant a change, I'm due for a new driver change so I'll be following your testing closely.

Also thankyou for taking the time to respond and keep your threads updated , really goes the extra effort.

Hmmm. Well, previously I expressed displeasure with the driver paint scheme. Aside from the volt (green!) the other design element is not really objectionable as I first believed. Guess I'll be at least hitting the darn thing...but it's going to take a lot to unseat my CT 2.0. Looks very nice address, now if only "volt" was white!

Thanks! :drinks: I had the same issues with the OTR SLDR as I did with the 2.0, just not nearly as bad. If you can find a toe screw model 460 that weighs around 195g, you might have much better results with it.

Thanx for this. Unbelievable what access u got...kinda jealous...
Btw is that a 2 iron vr pro combo? I thought the new version didn't have a 2 iron...
I wish I could take credit for having some sort of "in" on this event, but all of the credit goes to my wife for setting this one up.. yes, I said it :tongue:

The 2 iron is the Pocket Cavity model, it came as part of my set from the Oven. I'm not 100% sure if it was a tour only item or not.. it definitely goes a long way, but not as forgiving as my 712u.

I didn't compare them, I should have. But I didn't see any noticeable differences either too deep or shallow when I was looking at them. I'll take a better look next time I have them in hand.

I don't think it will be as much of a shoot out this year... The NIKE line just keeps getting better. Is it safe to say the gap is closed or perhaps edging in front of the competition? For years I was on pins and needles for the new releases from TMAG and Titleist... Don't get me wrong new equipment is great regardless of who it is from but I see major improvements and modifications in every aspect of the Vapor line.

The real question for me is can the OTR gear hang with your one-off collections?
