Matthewb - an hour is fine. I don't know yet exactly where we will be staying other than the general area - my wife has a friend she wants to visit and it is my excuse to grab a nice round in an area of MI i have not played before. Thanks!

Opinions vary of course but imo the best public course in the Grand Rapids area is Pilgrim's Run, which is maybe 20 minutes north of downtown. A couple of other good one (again imo) are Thornapple Pointe out by the airport on the SE side and L.E. Kaufman municipal in Wyoming. I haven't made it to The Meadows at Grand Valley State U in Allendale but that would likely be another strong public option.

That is some driving you are doing if you think Pilgrim's Run is 20 minutes north of downtown. Worth the drive, but it's a lot longer than 20 minutes.

From downtown, it’s 30 minutes at an average speed with normal traffic.

Fair enough, I'm over toward the lakeshore and poorly estimated the time you cut off by going from 96 to 131. Plus, no traffic at 7 am on weekends.

The idea that the Loop is a better course than the original is so laughable to me. I think it was Golfweek who had the two Loop routings ranked around the top 50 Modern courses, and the Weiskopf course around 75 spots lower. Hilarious.

Had a fitting with PING out in PHX last week and the G410 Plus was night and day better than the LST. The rpm difference was negligible, but the Plus was an absolute monster in feel, dispersion and forgiveness. The PING guys were saying that many of the former LST players have switched to the PLUS. Two completely different feeling heads.

That was my home track in HS and the amount of home matches postponed because of this was laughable. Still love that place though regardless of the floodplain. The back is a gem!

 

Still down in SW MI and snuck in a twilight nine at Heritage Glen today. Even if it's slow behind leagues, well worth it. Very strategic too. Hoping to still hit Angels Crossing's back 9 and Stoatin Brae to check off the list down here. Kudos to SW MI golf scene!

I can confirm this. My dad retired and decided to enjoy the free golf that comes with working at Forest Dunes. The team was very excited to tell the new employees about the par 3 course and the next 18 hole course in the works. They are really working to make it a destination golf resort in and of itself.

I'm no help to you in that regard -- I've hit a couple different versions of the Evenflow in demo clubs (including the G410 Plus, I think), and I hate the feel of that shaft. I have a 125 MSI Rogue Silver 70TX in my LST. I haven't found a shaft that I like better than the Rogue. I'm loving the LST driver so much, I have components on the way to assemble a LST fairway (head + 130 MSI Rogue 80tx + adapter).

Iz seems to fit a lot of swing profiles. G Bone, Dozer, and I are playing the S, Swiz prolly an X.

Me: 95-98 quick transition

G Bone: 97-100 smooth transition

Doz: 97-100 smooth transition

Swiz 100+ could be more like 110, fast transition

It was also the best shaft for me in my fitting but a little too pricey so I went with the Hazardous yellow.

I have a epic subzero tour issue "tc" serial 13.5 bonded fairway with Aldila Max 75X up for sale on the bst, would do a discount to anyone in the area. Would like to sell it and someone local would bring down the shipping costs and would gladly do a discount to someone else in the area who has had to put up with the "sping" mother nature gave us. Otherwise i might have to see if maple hill is interested in it as a trade in.

I may be one of the few that can’t stand the iz shaft. I’ve tried it in two different heads with similar poor results. I have hit the new ping 410 ls and wasn’t a fan and I did really like the previous G400 lst.
