Played Wuskowhan Players Club today. Holy cow! What an awesome track. I played pretty good all day and shot 76 from 6700 and was happy. They sanded the greens today so they were suspect at times. Overall I had a blast. Definitely a place I'd like to play daily.
Always wanted to play Wuskowan.....heard there is a lot of forced carries. Is that the case? I should have an opportunity to play there next year if all goes well
There are definitely a bunch of forced carries. If you pick the right tees you'll be fine though. The greens were pretty slow and I struggled putting. I can't even imagine what it's like when the greens are quick. Definitely take advantage of playing it if you get an opportunity.

Really itching to get fit for the new 915 stuff. To my knowledge only Miles has it and they just won't let you take it out and hit and try it with different shafts without a fitting. Anyone know who else has one. I did hit the 8.5 D3 with new white but it was too low spin. The 915f was pretty solid with the white from both the deck and tee. Way longer and more forgiving than previous models.
I called Carls Launch Pad and asked when they would have it in and they are offering free fittings for the 915 lines this coming weekend. I am going Sunday 10/12 at 10am. No obligation to buy (I asked) which I was surprised to hear considering a fitting is usually $125
Thanks for the info. Will be there at 3pm Friday with Peter to get fit for my driver, fairway, and hybrid.
Let us know how it goes. I have the inlaws in town this weekend so can't get over there, but will definitely be planning on making a visit the weekend after this one. I am thinking it may be time to upgrade the 910F and my 2008 TM Rescue. This is the worst part about WRX....the 2008 TM Rescue is one of the most reliable clubs in my bag, BUT it is sooo old. I want something shiny and new.
Nothing wrong with old equipment in the bag. I will say the new 915f is night and day above any fairway wood titleist has ever produced. I will for sure post my review. Going to see Peter and see what he comes up with. Probably thinking Rogue Silver, Tour Spec 6.2, or new Diamana White. I just need a lower torque, tip-stiff shaft. Open to other suggestions if you guys have any prior to showing up.

That's a pretty bold statement -- Titleist has made some great fairways over the years. I played a 904f 3 wood for many years, followed by the 910 F-d that got kicked out for my G25, and I'm still playing a 913F 5 wood that I love. I'm interested to hear your review, and why you think they're that much of an improvement. They've always been great (though I didn't like the 910F for some reason, and the 913F-d didn't behave as well as the 910F-d, but that may have been a shaft issue), so I'm curious as to how they'd make a major leap when they're already so good.

Any idea if it's due to extra forgiveness, more distance, or something else? Might have to do a little side by side comparison at some point, just to see what the hype is about.

The 913 was short for me, supposed to have caught up with some others in distance is what I've read. Looks awesome still and feel wasn't compromised completely, should feel a little different though.
Ah, if that's the case, then it's probably more of an advantage with the 3 wood. I use mine primarily from the tee, so I like one that I can hit as far as possible, with forgiveness, which is why I settled on my G25 after lots of experimenting earlier in the year. The bonus is that it's pretty easy to hit off the deck, too, which isn't true of some of those deeper faced 3 woods that are bombers from the tee. Honestly, the G25 goes as far as any of those other ones did, too. My 5 wood is more about fitting in a gap, and my 913 does that just fine, so probably no real advantage to the 915 for my purposes.

Yea meant to add from what I've heard just keep the 5 wood, more 3 wood and driver. My g25 woods are next on the block, I'll keep the driver but I definitely want to get something new to try on the course next year. So sick of seeing no roll on the course.

PSA for crazy people like me who play in just about anything until the snow falls. Costco has Under Armour Cold Gear compression mocks for $30, which is a great deal. I have two (and just bought a 3rd one in green), and they're a godsend on days under 45 degrees. Wear the compression shirt under a windbreaker or sweater (something to keep the wind off you, because the one thing it doesn't do is block the wind), and you will be comfortably warm and still be able to make a relatively unimpeded swing.
Colors were limited to green, red, and gray, though.

I keep going back to my 910f because it is the only one I can hit off the deck consistently. The 913F-D was too big to my eye. Couldn't get the ball elevated. Same issue with the G25 I have now, although that could be a shaft issue. The thing bombs it off the tee though.

I may have to give them a try. The one time I tried on a compression mock I felt (and worse, looked) like a 160 pound sausage stuffed into a 120 pound skin.

You could show up at game time and get a spot. Michigan is so bad few people care to watch how bad they are.

They are terrible but regardless of the product on the field people still like tailgating.

I would say the golf course is the best place. But make sure you are a group in one vehicle. I think it's up to $40 now to park, but proximity and just good ol' plain fun don't get much better.

You'll also learn why I suggest never playing the course once football season starts. Always let a winter wash the tailgating away.....

Golf course is where its at. I'll probably be getting into some kind of trouble down there myself wearing an MSU jersey.

Maiden voyage with the new wedges was a success, narrowly missed a chip in on the first hole and did chip in on the third. Not the shot of the day considering it was a chip in for bogey and I holed a 7 iron for a duece a few holes later.

I have always done the golf course. It is by far the best place in my opinion. I know others who really like Pioneer High School. I also have friends who park in the surrounding neighborhood (free or ~$20 compared to $50) and then walk to the golf course to tailgate.
