What? He’s the only one that did that. Clearly if Dantonio had done something similar it would have been reported and he’d have been fired. Good luck against Wisconsin tomorrow!

Anyone down for 9 holes at Diamond Springs today? My morning is wide open, and I was thinking of heading to Hamilton to get some swings in.

edit:

I made it down there thinking that the online booking times they had would be accurate...the online calendar said that they had several openings for 1- or 2-somes between 10:30 and 11, but when I got there, they were only letting 4-somes on and couldn't let a solo golfer on until noon. Perhaps next time, I'll actually book a time online or call first.

Anyway, I hit a bucket of range balls and learned that if I keep my left elbow tucked in and stick my butt out, I can hit my long irons in a convincing manner. Had a good ol' time doing that.

Horrible design of the first hole and it gets worse from there.

I honestly don’t know. I have never been to Carl’s. Miles has a good selection.

It's been a minute since I've been to Miles so I don't remember their used section that well. Carl's in Bloomfield has probably 6-8 of the large display style staff bags with used clubs, mostly righties, maybe two bags of lefties and one woman's. Then most of their iron sets are on a wall opposite of that, along with putters. They also sell some of their previous years demos as well.

My garage and basement has a pretty decent used selection.

Premier Professional Painting is outstanding and very reasonable. They have a great reputation and the owner is an avid golfer who has played some of the best courses in Northern Michigan. Give them a call 269-353-7810.

If anyone is looking, my home course has Cleveland rtx 3 wedges on sale right now for 59.99. They have some 54,56,58 and 1 60 degree. All new some with plastic and some with out. Some might have shop wear from people swingin in the shop. I don’t play Cleveland wedges but I would think this would be considered a good price. They are all satin finish.

Second year of the new owners. Greens are the same as they have been last couple years. New owners are very involved and working at some improvement projects over the next couple of years. Redoing bunkers and things like that.

The last time I played Western Greens in Coopersville was probably 1997. I've got an outing there this weekend. How have things improved over the past 22 years?

A lot of things are wet this weekend. Our little outing at Western Greens was cancelled because the course flooded. Kaufmann in Wyoming is closed due to flooding as well. Lincoln Country Club was sopping wet when I played there a couple weeks back; it's probably worse now with the rain this weekend.

I myself am in Holland, but haven't really been active in the golf scene for quite a long time. My old favorite courses were Maple Hill, Wallinwood Springs, and Gleneagle, all of which are closer to Grand Rapids. This summer, I've been around Winding Creek and Macatawa Golf Course, both in Holland.

I'll be completely honest - if you're making a trip here specifically for golf, then Maple Hill, Winding Creek, and Gleneagle are fun, but certainly not high-end courses. Macatawa is owned by [Watermark Properties](https://www.watermarkpropertiesclubs.com/ "Watermark Properties"), all of which are super nice...but, about half are members only. I've only played Mac, so I can't comment on any of the other Watermark properties. Wallinwood was pretty high end, then the recession hit, but I think they've recovered quite well. LE Kaufman (metro GR) and Diamond Springs (about due south of GR, and straight southeast of Holland) are both listed on the Sugarloaf Social Club "[hidden gem](https://www.sugarloafsocialclub.com/hidden-gem-project "hidden gem")" list.

It's more of a family trip and not golf specific. I guess I'd be up for driving an hour to somewhere higher end.

Anyone have inside info? My guess is that ownership is killing it so the property can be switched to residential? Fun course with a nice layout, shame it's being killed off.

My buddy and I played it last year and decided it was no longer worth the drive (from Royal Oak). Of the three courses designed by Conroy-Dewling Associates only Boulder Pointe is worth playing. I gave Mystic Creek a try two summers ago and it looked like they turned into a cash machine for outings. A shame, as I really liked all three courses designed by that group.

Anybody able to throw out a few suggestions? I will be going to the Traverse City area in the near future and will only have time for one round. Last time there, we played Dunmaglas and LOVED the scenery, drop dead gorgeous. It was overpriced for the conditions, but the scenery and layout made up for it to some extent. Sundance at A-Ga-Ming golf resort? Any suggestions?
