Well, I'm officially about to be a blade playing poseur that will be mocked mercilessly on the WRX forums. Went to Scratch to get fitted for irons and wedges, and I have a set of 4-PW SB-1s on the way with Modus 120x, and 53*/58* wedges with s400. I really hit the blades better than the AR-1 or EZ-1, even with the long irons. I've played Ping S series irons for the past several years, which are a similar profile, so I don't think I'm out of my league or anything, though it did require some convincing to myself that I could handle them. I just consistently hit them better than the CB models. I'm pretty excited, to say the least!

Lakes of Taylor looks like a really nice course. Looked at some of the holes and the final few holes look really tough which I like.

I'm guessing you guys will prob play from the tips or next up. The whites play at nearly 6400 so that's all I could prob personally handle.

I have a few golf trips in May but it is on the calandar and I hope I can make it.

If we go, we can Carpool. I am sure there will many different tee options. The tips at LoT is a lot for me.

We rarely even put out the back tees. They are mostly used for tournaments. I'm not saying we couldn't use them but I typically play the blue tees. They are a good distance for me at almost 6700 yards. The course is challenging but you can definitely score on it.

6700 sounds good to me. That's about what I try to stick to on most courses.

On a side note there is a hilarious thread on the cooler right now. Some curmudgeon started a thread saying people shouldn't wear shorts on the golf course. He is getting absolutely slayed of course, and I haven't laughed so hard reading responses since I joined wrx.

I'm not a beer guy, though I've tried to be. I will say that all of my friends love Brother Ben. It could just be that it's 12% knowing them though.

It was freezing in that bay today, 1ton should have a full snowmobile suit on when working

Is the Novi show worth going to? Looking for a backup set of irons, maybe some SM5 wedges, balls, gloves, ....

Is it all last years stuff or old junk? Is it worth taking a cab out there?

There are a couple booths that have all of the current clubs. You could probably find what you are looking for. You can definitely find balls and gloves. I, not sure if it's worth taking a cab or not. The deals will be ok but not earth shattering
