Where do u guys go to use trackman? I would like to see if I have the right shaft in my G30, but I know trackman time can be pricey.
I take lessons at the Kendall Academy at Miles of Golf, and they have at least one trackman, and my instructor likes to use it with me to demonstrate how changes to my swing path and angle of attack resulting from what we're working on translates to launch numbers. And I'm a huge nerd who is fascinated by this kind of thing, so it's a perfect situation!

So glad the Lions didn't overpay for Suh. Perhaps they spread out the money and get several very good players with it versus one thug.

Will not be joining the G30 LS club. Couldn't spin it at all, talking under 1500. Trying out a Miyazaki 59R in current 915 D3
Not surprised... Your swing is like silky glass... You don't have to worry about no stinken spin!

Don't over look the G30, it is a beast! I wanted to bag it last year, but we couldn't find a shaft to bring the spin down. (Thank you LS!)

Also, if you have right bleeders the G30 SF is totally legit, too.

Finally, a little bird told me the G30 will be out in Bubba Pink soon... Fingers crossed they will do it with LS... But I know they won't.

So, OW, I can see you totally rocking a PINK G30... You know I would!!
Going back Monday finish to driver fitting and pick up irons being reshafted. Will give the regular G30 a go.
Reshafting with Accra i series 100, so will have a set of Pured Modus 120 stiff available. 4 thru PW.

Leaving the pink for you bud. Did add a blue a red and a grey Croc, brown Tejus to the collection.
Don't quit the modus crew! The 120s are so good and a lot of talk about them in the forums. You will be able to BST them pretty easy.
Didn't go there looking for new iron shafts, just happened. Went for driver and since we were outdoors on turf with a trackman on, I asked if we could look at iron numbers since I did not get fit for the modus, just kinda figured what would work for me. Anyways, numbers were good with Modus, but he asks me if I ever tried graphite? Explained I had recoil protos that I wish would have worked but got fitted over the phone and they were a little stout....hands me a Cally Apex 6 iron with 100 gram Accra. Hit a few, feel sensational, flight is a little higher, dispersion seems comparable. Look at the numbers, club head speed up 3mph, from 78/79 to 81/82. Average carry up from 158 to 164. Plus, hoping the graphite helps with the elbow tendinitis. Keeping the Modus pulls, so if doesn't work out, just another expensive experiment.

1putt, those putters look great!!
They do, for some reason I want a del mar to mess around with too although that's pointless.

OD, I see you have the rogue for sale. What happened?
I hit a driver that gave me better numbers. I compared the G30LS rogue to it and was getting 1700-1900 spin numbers with 15 degree launch angle. The numbers were better and the shaft felt perfect for me. IT gained my 25 yards because I was spinning Ping head about 2400 with 13 launch angle.

I have it listed for a great price so wouldn't be surprised if its gone by end of today.. (I hope)
Did you hit this other driver when you were on trackman?
No Greg didn't have it. I did an apples to apples comparison on a different monitor with both clubs at the same time. The numbers were pretty close to trackman for the Ping so I can base it on that though.
Friendly advice: take all of the clubs to FL with you and hit them in real world conditions, preferably on the course. I wouldn't completely trust the numbers you get from a simulator in a store.

Trajectory optimizer says 2 cards further carry but 7 yards less total distance with those two parameters, carry being in the Ping favor. Anything like 25 yards is courtesy of an incorrect monitor. Unless you don't hit the ping well, which isn't the case considering you liked it on a 100% legit launch monitor last week.

Brand new? So you didn't even hit the actual club you bought after a professional fitting with a guy who actually knows what he's doing? And you're basing this decision on the carry and total distance numbers from a Golf Galaxy simulator? Seriously, search Google for Flightscope Trajectory Optimizer, and plug your launch numbers in. I'm guessing the numbers swiz posted are accurate, and that will give you a much more accurate representation of your ball flight than a sim in a golf store.

I got all my club work done today and so the bag is set for the year. I set my bag last year in April and no changes for the year - I would like to do the same this year.

Going with the G30LS with AD-DI7s (feels amazing)
Staying with the Xhot Fairways
Adding 3 and 4 Hybrid (Xhot2)
Swapped out shafts on i25s and Ping Wedges to Modus 120X
Staying with my Betti

I almost went with the 120S last year based on their amazing feel. I went with performance of C-Taper because slightly too much spin with 120s. I was able to get an X to test on flightscope against the C-Taper and while numbers were not as good as C-Taper, the feel is much better and spin was better than the S. I am surprised you went with X straight in because the 120 plays soft to flex based on what I have read and my experience - but given you are moving to blades, some higher launch/spin might be better.

AI m done chasing numbers on a monitor. 5 - 10 swings, just don't predict how they the clubs will really work. For me, feel is a big deal because it gives me confidence. By the end of last year, I was just waiting for pain with the C-Tapers.

I hit the rogue 125 shaft in one of their heads. The numbers with the Ping were good but I load Project X LZ Pro shaft much better. I wish I could have hit it at Carl's but they didn't have it. The head felt better for me as well with XR Pro. Thanks for your concerns but the my bag is set now. I have a few things to sell off then no more. I'm not exactly an animal when it comes to swing speed, so it's not like I need rebar in my clubs. Even with the Stiff flex CTL I played in Florida, the issue was that I hit it too high and spun it too much--directionally, they were basically fine..I just have a quick transition, and I can use some help keeping the ball from launching too high and spinning too much, so a shaft with a high bend point and a stiff tip is the profile that works best. When I got fit at Scratch, I hit basically everything that fits that profile, and for dispersion and consistency in distance, Modus 120x was a clear winner, and part of that was probably related to the fact that it's such a smooth feeling shaft, that allows me to feel the clubhead through the swing. To your point about feel, there were a few shafts that I dismissed after a couple of swings because I had no feel for where the club was during the swing (steelfiber 125, PX 6.5, are prime examples)

Will be all set for a Florida and hopefully Michigan golf come April 1st.

What you have in your bag is your own decision, and if you're happy with it, great, but I hate to see a decision based on bad data. You do not get 25 extra yards of carry in real life by increasing your launch angle by a couple degrees and dropping spin by 500 RPM. Really, hit them both on the course side by side, even a half dozen times, and compare how they perform in real life. You're not going to decrease the value of a driver much by hitting it a few times unless you sky one, and you said yourself that your driver decision wasn't driven by money, so it seems like it would be worthwhile to do some on course testing instead of basing a decision on a notoriously unreliable simulator.
Note, this is not driven by my love of the LST, though it is the greatest thing ever.

ATMG Outing ALERT!!!!!!! As promised, here are the remaining details.....well most of them....couple things left to be ironed out but we'll kick that can down the road for a bit.

You already know the location is Lakes of Taylor and the date is May 16th. Itw has 4 tee times reserved starting at 12:00 noon. We can add one if needed and the entry cutoff is May 1st. or when the field is full.

To reserve your spot, call the Lakes of Taylor pro shop at: 734-287-2100

You will need to go thru the prompts to select Lakes of Taylor pro shop. Identify yourself as playing in the WRX outing and the date. As previously mentioned itw scored us a rockin' deal that cannot be posted. pm itw or me if you need to know the price in advance.

Itw has also reserved us a spot in the bar/grill room for post round libations and food.

No decision has been made on format/game of the day, that's the can we're kicking' down the road, open for discussion. Itw and I have discussed forming teams of A,B,C,D players once the field is set and playing a 2 best of four plus optional gross and net skins. Post your thoughts.

Again, call the Lakes of Taylor pro shop at: 734-287-2100 to register and reserve a spot. Itw will keep a list of who is in and post it from time to time.

Anybody have any feedback on the Miyazaki 59r shaft? Think I remember CPP or somebody playing one. I know it's been out a couple years and have heard rumors Miyazaki might be going away. Guy doing the driver fitting gave me one to try for a couple days in the 915 D3, seems pretty good. Definitely more stable than the diamana s+ when I go after one. Not harsh feeling at all. Anybody remember the original price point on these?

Any suggestions to try today from you numbers guys? SS= 90/94..launch= 13/15...don't recall the exact number but angle of attack is up slightly.
Spin with D3/Diamana around 2400, close to the same with Miyazaki.

I'm not sure if it's the same shaft you're talking about, but I tested a Cleveland TL 310 driver a few years ago for WRX, and the Miyazaki C.Kua 59 was the stock shaft (in X). I had been playing 70-80g driver shafts before that, and was impressed that for as light as it was that it was still very stable, and felt pretty smooth. I used that driver for part of a year, and it was pretty solid.
