I love Grand Rapids. Especially because of their craft breweries. I was out there yesterday and stopped at Founders, the Mitten and Perrrin. Great time.

I'll host any of you WRX'ers at Thousand Oaks

Perrin and The Mitten are awesome, good choices

I like both of those places but the star of the show yesterday was Founders. Canadian Breakfast Stout lives up to the hype.

What's killing us are those refs that didn't review that foot on the line on the out of bounds heave. Game was over.
Feeling a bit of Detroit Lions reminiscence in the air..

Dozer, I would love to take you up on that Thousand Oaks offer sometime. Old family friend was a ranger there, never have had the pleasure of playing it though.

Oof, been there. The first shaft I had in my G25 did that (it didn't come off completely, just broke and was hanging there). Did the head go flying down the fairway?

No I hit two tees shots on the first driver hole and they didn't feel quite right. I assumed I just heeled them then grabbed my headcover off of the ground and that's what I saw. I just laughed about it because the exact same thing happened to me two years ago. I keep my clubs inside 85% of the time. I'll leave them in the car during the summer on occasion, but that's it.

It was at Brookwood in Buchanan. I was going to hit some balls in South Bend and decided to stop there in case they were open and they were. Most holes had snow left on them and a couple were unplayable, but it felt nice to walk around a golf course.

Guess what I'm doing in shorts right now....

Edit: That will teach me to be excited about golf.

I can totally relate to this. It coulda been worse. I played two days before Christmas at Eagle Eye and had the same thing happen to me; however, it was my 7 iron from the middle of the 16th fairway. The head was launched like a laser beam about 100 yards in front of me and and dodged the cart path and the water. I was speechless watching my club head fling through the air. Talk about a nervous moment.

Mr. G Bone and I played the Champions course at PGA National yesterday, site of the Honda Classic. Here are a few pics. Good track, can't say it was outstanding. We both agreed there are better in the area, G played Trump National the day before and raved about it. The other tour stop course I've bagged is the Copperhead course at Innisbrook , prefer it and believe it is tougher than Champions. The rough at Champions is maybe the most severe i have ever played, not even exaggerating a little. 4 inch bermuda, ball would literally disappear. Sideways wedge was only play and even then a -50 yard advance was a good play. G and I both shot 40 on the front before flailing away on the back. Back side highlight was making a bogey off a roof, jeffy snapped one, hit a roof and bounced sideways and backward into play, hybrid to 50 yards, wedge to 20 feet, 2 putt.

My trusty 9064ls broke after hitting one off the deck. I hit the shot and lean it up against my hip, to send a text. Then the shaft fell over and I just thought the whole fell over but as I look down I notice they were in one. It was a clean cut as well.

So my first question is what shaft is comparable to the new grafalloy blue? Last spring I got fitted for the club at Miles, but I feel like changing it up. Lol

My second option is to join all you yahoos and try out the LST.

You're not going to find many shafts as stout as the new Blue. I hit that in my G25 for a round before realizing I'm not man enough to swing rebar. Something like a Speeder TS or a Whiteboard might perform similarly, but with a little smoother feel.

I've been reading that it plays quite stiff and I'm shocked at that. My SS is right at 105 (106 max) and I have had minimal issues with it. I'm really torn with what I want to do now. Nate at Miles did a great job last year fitting me and I loved the club, but I feel like changing my club isn't a bad idea.

I wholly blame WRX for me even considering changing clubs right now.

Don't worry, you don't have a problem until you start selling custom clubs before you have even hit them off grass.

I have not played or hit balls outside yet. I injured my foot at the gym and then my my foot/ankle got swollen and then it got infected and so I can barely walk. So much fun to be sitting inside on my bed reading this thread. Its getting better, so maybe on Friday I can get out and at least hit some balls.
