The Wedges are dialed in right now. Hit a small bucket tonight after trying to fix my putting (didn't help) and I hit 3 balls in a row off the hundred hard sign. Its a good thing because I need it hit it to 2 feet to make a birdie.

Wow that is awesome. Love that place. As hard as #9 is, it's a wonder there aren't more holes in one there. If that pin is in that lower bowl at least.

It's obviously not that hard for "good golfers"... OW had an Ace there this year!

Taking the TM 430 on its maiden voyage tomorrow. Excited to play for the first time in a week. Also, using the higher bounce sand wedge too. Hoping for a great driving day.

Getting ready to list most of my Betti collection, a BB8, BB0, HMM and FCB. My putting has been a mess for awhile as I think I'm trying to steer the putter. Think the DLL+ is going to stick around for awhile.

My putting is a mess too. 12 GIR today for 78. I am not three putting, but I can't make anything. I think I might go counter balanced mallet. I like the Odyssey 7 feel and performance, but it is so big. I would like a mid-size face balanced mallet.

Took an Aimpoint class this weekend at Forest Akers. Very interesting stuff. The biggest challenge is learning to gauge slope with your feet. I'm not totally comfortable with that yet, which is leading to less than confident strokes, but it does show promise. It's going to change the way I practice putting, though. Instead of bringing 4 balls and putting ball after ball without a lot of attention paid to the line, I'm going to take one ball and actually take the time to get my slope value, find my aiming spot, and try to practice reading the green, as well as working on the stroke.

I played with a guy a few weeks ago who had this down. He saw lines I didn't see, and once committed to the line, it then just became a pace issue. I've been playing with the concept of feeling it in my feet the last couple weeks and have started to get it, though it's tough!

I hear ya. It is just so rare that I see actual photo or video evidence that it is jarring when I do. It is such a flat swing but it doesn't feel anything like that. My posture also look hunched over or something. But you are right, it does work for me. I'm trending towards my all time low hcp right now!

My new training aid is a digital level. One that can show percent slope, as that percentage corresponds to the number of fingers. The problem so far is my uneducated feet, and going into reads with a preconceived idea of where it's going to go based on what I see visually.

Part of it is getting the right shoes that allow you to feel the slopes as well.

Aim point seems interesting but I've never really had trouble reading putts so haven't done a ton of research. Personally I walk the line to get the feel already and then find the fall line at the hole, ie where would the ball fall in from the flattest area. Point straight up the fall line and that's where your ball needs to be a few feet out. Try not to miss anything low side and watch the putts fall.

K your swing looks a lot shorter and tighter, flat for sure but it looks good.

The whole concept of a fall line eludes me, which is probably why I'm so terrible at reading greens visually.

I don't get the whole aim point concept. I mean I understand it but it's way out there for me. I recently played with a guy who used it. Hes about 6'4" and was hilarious to watch but he had it down. I don't think his green reading ability is as uncanny as my own but if it works, why not. Our pace of play was ridiculously slow however. I have a ball marker that's a level, so I use that whenever I'm not playing for money/in competition. Although, taking it out on practice rounds is a leg up to get in on course knowledge. It's really useful for uncovering break lines in unfamiliar greens.

It really shouldn't take any longer than getting the line visually. Depending on the length of the putt, you check one or two spots between the ball and the hole, and it should really be quick to gauge what you think the slope is. Once you get that, you just do the thing with your fingers and pick your target, and for me, I use the line or size log on the ball to align it to that line, and go.
