Considering most of you have experience with the g25's, what if any effect would i see from using a cfs stiff? I have a chance at a really good deal on a whole set of g25's but ive never hit stiff shafts before.
The CFS shaft is a great shaft. Some say it plays a little soft, so I don't think you will have a problem loading them, but only you can determine that. Give them a shot, and if it doesn't work out you should be able to flip them without losing your shirt.
Ive always played DGS300s and hit them solid however i brought a set of G25s from the bay on the premise they were Stiff shaft (were in fact CFS SRs). My swing speed has always said Stiff shaft also but i thought i will have a hit with these at the range and i havent looked back since Consistency, Flight, Control are second to none and scores have been tumbling down to mid to high 70s.

I lol'ed when I saw this review of the G30's on Global Golf:

1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.
Handicap: 0-5 Plays Golf: I play more than once a week Dexterity: Right Hand
I got **** for these and ordered them from Global Golf, yellow dot, graphite regular flex. I was unsatisfied with their performance. Clunky feeling, too low launch angle, could not get the ball up. I sold them. I went with a set of Taylormade SpeedBlades steel shafts and love them. So much better to launch. I know another golf friend who got rid of his G30s too after buying them. I would not recommend these G30s. rt

0-5 handicap and he can't get the G30s in the air???????

Pulled out my G's today for a quick round. Been using my i E1's lately and playing generally poor. Anyway, I struck the ball much better today. Hit a number of nice solid irons shots. It's about time. The G's are staying in the bag and the i's will be hitting BST as soon as I can get the photos together.

I'm playing an Odyssey V-line lately. I'm a huge fan of Ping putters, and have two different Anser's that move through the rotation, but Odyssey makes some fine putters that can be found for good prices. What you won't find in my bag, now or ever, is an Anser version putter made by anyone other than Ping. If someone gave me a Cameron 009 for free I'd take it straight to ebay and off the thing and then order up a real Ping Anser instead. :beach:

I play G25 irons, G30 Driver, Fairway woods and hybrids, and a Ketch putter, so I may qualify as a G man. :-)

I had a fitting check this am with my pro and he is encouraging me to change out my iron shafts from CFS Regular to AWT 2.0's in stiff.

He thinks i can keep the G25 heads and just upgrade the shafts, which I'm considering, but during the fitting I also hit G's and they are very nice.

Any opinions from someone who's hit both on whether i would notice much of a difference between the G25 and the G if i just give it up and go to the new heads?

The 25's are awesome. You won't gain much of anything by switching.

CFS shafts get lighter as the shafts get shorter. AWT is opposite. If you switch to AWT's the swingweights will need to be managed. The short iron swingweight will go up a couple points and the long iron swingweight will go down (which you can correct with tip weights). There are quite a few sets of low mileage AWT pulls on ebay so it would be a simple upgrade for you if you decide to pull the trigger.

I went from G25s to the new Gs, and now back to the G25s. I was getting 15-18 yards more with the Gs and a nice ball flight. However, I didn't like the feel and prefer the ferrule-less look of the 25s. They are just more confidence inspiring while addressing the ball, but that's just me.

A little surprised your fitter suggested going stiff in the AWT vs the regular in CFS (assuming you're properly fit for the regular CFS). I found the AWT to be a tad more stiff than the CFS and in hindsight would've dropped down a flex.
