SLDR 430 Shaft Selection

Hi All,

Being the excellent club ho that I am I decided to purchase the SLDR 430 (12 degree) and am really stuck with a shaft selection for it.

I currently play a 910 D3 with a steel shaft... and while I don't mind throwing a steel shaft in the SLDR I thought I would see what others are playing in theirs.

My driver SS is in the 110 range and is not overly aggressive, I launch it low and spin it a bit more than average AoA is -2 (Not looking to change that...). I obviously prefer heavy over light and like an active feeling shaft.

Love to hear your thoughts on what works well with these heads.

With that SS and a good tempo and wanting an active feeling shaft I'd say try ad di 7X or 8X. Some others that might be worth a look with the info you provided are as follows. Speeder 7.3 or 8.3 in both reg and tour spec versions, Speeder 757, blueboard, ad bb 7 or 8X, etc...

Best bet is to get fit by a good club fitter and save money and time in the long run.

I play the matrix radix 6321 in mine...im playing a 9 degree head though.....I prefer a lower launching shaft ....main thing to know and remember wiith the sldr is Tee it low ..these heads prefer contact to be center to slightly lower than center...above center is a dead zone....I tee the ball so that the ball barely peeks above the crown...the matrix black tie is also a popular choice for the 430

Thanks for the tip on teeing it low - luckily not a big change for me.

I have hit the DI 6 (tipped .5) in the past and while it was nice, it didn't wow me. I have a Blueboard in a 5 wood and feel it is too spinny for a driver.

I've never hit a Speeder and I've seen lots of SLDR's with them, that's something to look at. From those who have hit the Speeders - what's the difference between 7.3 and 757 etc - Not looking for brochure differences but real world stuff?
