If anyone needs 120's or 105's let me know, I couldn't get along with them and have settled on X7's

I might be interested in the 105's

Im sure it has been asked/answered already but I had sometime to kill and spent it in GG hitting 900 Tours with different shafts. The best performance and feel came from the 105x which suprised me since I have a higher SS and am a stronger player. Looking at possibly ordering iblades or the i200's with the 105x but im concerned when I get it out on course results will differ from hitting inside which usually happpens.

So question is, anyone with a higher SS play the 105's in X and see good results. I have a later release, 6'3" long swing so not a super hard load and im more arms/hands (kind of old school) than body release etc..

What is a higher swing speed? I play the 105x in my JPX 900's. personally, I think they're the best shafts for me. I had been playing DG X100's for the past 7 years and I honestly thought the same thing as you. I thought the 105's would be to light but after hitting them, I was kicking myself for not trying them out sooner. For me, they are smoother than the X100's. The best way I can describe them is that they feel so effortless.

By the way, I am 6'3" as well. My 6 iron SS is 93-96 MPH depending on what I'm trying to accomplish.

I had the 105x hard stepped once in my MP-68's and my 7 iron ss is 95-96mph. I loved them at first, but as my swing got into its groove it was hook and balloon city. I would have to throttle back a lot to draw the ball. I have a fast trasitionand hit down on the ball. As much as I wanted these they were not the shafts for me. I have a 130x ready to shaft up and a 125x on the way. I'll see how these go.

I was looking at putting 120 modus in some irons...but it's so frustrating sifting through the opinions on flex on this forum...

I was a Project X 6 user - wasn't getting very good load. C-Taper and Modus 3 performed much better for me, but went the modus 120 since it was a stock option for Srixon. It is a nice shaft.

They are a fantastic shaft much more consistent than true temper. They've been in my clubs for two seasons. I'm also a nxfit (certified nippon fitter) if you have any questions.

can u do a quick summary of 105 s, 120s and 130s, thanks. Tried out the 120, waiting for the other 2 to demo

Thanks for the reply. Im right at about where you are as far as swing speed, maybe more 91-93 with 6i carry is 185-190. I guess what I need to do is try and get one out on the course. My club may have one but not sure. They do have an AWT 2.0 in X which I know is supposed to be made by Nippon for Ping. I hit that pretty well I just wonder what Nippon shaft in the line it compares to?

You can find some posts I made about the 105. I loved the shaft for the weight and feel but I did find it loose on the dispersion side. I am an 84-85 mph guy with a 6 iron and I used them stiff straight in. I think I would go hard stepped if I tried them again. I fell in love with the 130s though and that's what I am hitting now.

I do hit the 130s high but I also hit the 105s high. I honestly did not see a huge difference in overall height. The 130s get there quicker than the 105s but they peak about the same. I think the weight differences helped me but I definitely find the 130s much better on dispersion. You have to put a really bad swing on them to get them offline. I would put a good swing on the 105s and it would just draw more than I wanted. I would try to compensate and then get blocks to the right. With the 130s its line it up at the pin and swing for me.

As for wedges, I still use the 125s in X flex soft stepped. It is the best wedge shaft I have found. Very heavy feeling with good kick and thump. It is so similar to the S400 feel on the bend profile side with the Nippon feel overall. I did not like the WV shafts but never tried the Modus wedges which I think are just rebranded.

What would you guys put in your wedge if you have 120s in irons. 120s or 115 wedge shaft?

i have a 115 in my 56 and a 125 in my 52 and they are both perfect and feel awesome

Intrigued by the comment about 105s being loose on the dispersion side. Did you find the 130s easy to transition to and what do you think you gained (or lost) .

87mph 6 iron late release, moderate transition - debating 1150s, 105s, 130 r or s

thank you

I wouldn't be too intrigued about it. This will happen with the 105's if your tempo isn't smooth. They aren't really designed for people with fast tempo.

The 105 is very easy to load which makes them very easy to over load. If you have a high swing speed then you should probably have a smooth tempo if you want to play the 105.

How did you end up with opposite weights? I tried 125 on my 56 and it feels Heavy. I still wanna use the shaft because I paid alot for it :(
