Atlanta the first week in December...too cold, or should I bring the sticks?

I'll be in Atlanta for a conference the week of Dec 1-5th, and it looks like the daytime highs are in the high 50's, which isn't a big deal for me, as I play a lot of mid 50's golf up here in NY in the spring/fall. My question is, are courses still open/decent conditions at this point of the year? I have the option to get 2-3 rounds in given my schedule, but don't want to both with bringing the clubs if I'm not going to have options.

 

Thoughts/ideas?

Yeah, the courses will be open and the conditions should be good. The rough and areas around the green will be brown (dormant) and they typically "paint" the greens so that they appear green, but the fairways should still be mainly green and in good shape. Its not the same as playing in the summer - rough isn't very penal and the greens will probably be very quick - but it will still be golf. Bring the clubs!!!.

Most of the courses here are still in great shape and will be open. Bring the clubs! Are you staying downtown Atlanta or out in the burbs?

I don't know how you stand it. Moving south was the best thing I could have done for my game. Its awesome.

Bring your clubs, all clubs should be open and there are plenty of courses with bent grass greens in excellent condition. They will not be painted either !!!
