Ive been so happy with the Ventus line, I didn’t need to see this.

Ventus is only as good as the last shaft it beats.  The king must always be challenged and let me say the Proto 2.0 is a serious contender.  They aren't cheap but neither is the Ventus.

I’ve switched from the original TPW in my 3 wood to the 2.0 85TX and I love it. Enough so that I as well am strongly considering getting the 65TX to try out in my SIM2 whenever it shows up and see if it knocks out the VB.

At least in the 3 wood the 2.0 actually feels smoother to me than the PW, tad lower flight as well it seems.

biggest difference is it’s a little lower in spin and a bit more fade bias/anti hook. You can go hard left and it doesn’t want to go left

Played yesterday

The Mitsu Tensei AV Raw white 2.0 Proto was lights out.  I hit some absolute bombs with it that and most impressive was the roll i got after the ball landed.  We might have a real contender on our hands.  😎

This shaft really is different, I ordered the 2.0 65TX as a no-upcharge shaft option with my TSi3 head and this thing launches bullets that run for days.  I've always played low/low shafts and nothing has come close to this, I've never seen rollout like this combo produces.  Agree with the anti-left assessment, I can really try to turn one over and have never yet lost one hard left.

Yeah it's amazing isn't it.  I'm actually thinking of going up in loft which could produce some absolute BOMBS.  I'm really surprised people haven't discussed this more.

Funny, I've thought the same thing... "If I could just get this thing launching a bit more, it would go forever".  At first I was a bit off-putt by the low launch but as I've adjusted a bit, it's really awoken a monster.  Still could get it launching a bit higher more consistently for max distance, so lofting up is definitely a consideration.

why is that good?

I don't want a left miss so when I say "go hard left" i'm referring to the swing.

you guys talking about the 1K white?

Talking about the Tensei AV Raw white 65TX 2.0 Proto.

I played today and the proto didn't do well.  Notice I said the proto didn't do well as it's never my fault and always a misbehaving club 🤣  Today was it's first round with cash on the line (when it matters) so my swing is a little different due to more pressure.  Anyway I hit some bombs but also missed some when I didn't go at the ball.  A little concerned as I don't like to go all out for every drive.  Playing again Sunday so we shall see.

Sounds like....good for good it’s longer then the Ventus black....maybe a little less carry and quite I bit more rollout?? Hence the desire for a little more loft?

I'm the same speed and it's definitely the stoutest shaft I've ever gamed.  Lofting up has made it a bit more playable, but smoothing one out there isn't really an option with this setup.

I have a 65tx raw blue on deck (I know drastically different) that is going to get a shot next.

I noticed a while back that you wanted to test the epic speed triple diamond....I never saw you mention it again and then saw it on bst so i assume it didn't impress you....Any findings? I did some horse trading and ended up with a TD LS and don't know if i want to sell it with the wrapper and stickers still in tact or unwrap it and give it a go.

I finished testing several weeks ago but haven’t had a chance to put the test up. I’m currently traveling but plan on doing a rundown soon.

TD LS is a good head, fade bias, high launching, and responsible spin. Question is does that meet your needs.

Maybe one of my favorite tests to date:

Callaway Speed Triple Diamond LS 9*  w/ Mitsubishi 1K 60TX             VS                   Titleist TSi3 9* w/ Fuji Ventus Black 6X

My Short and Sweet rundown

Callaway Epic Speed Triple LS w/ Tensei 1K 60TX

Yet again Callaway creates a beautiful tour head.  I wish they would release this as the standard "players" option but they don't seem to want to do that.  Love the shape, so much better than the standard Speed imo.  Lines are great and the sound is amazing.  It's the only driver that sounds and feels more muted than the Tsi3.

Titleist TSi3 w/ Ventus Black 6X

Titleist has made the most progress out of any company over the last 5 years.  They went from the 917 series to the TS and now the Tsi3.  The TSi line is (imo) their best line to date.  It's been YEARS since I played a Titleist driver but they are bringing the heat now which is great to see.  I spoke to a Titleist rep and he said they've made massive investments into beefing up their club R&D and it shows.  TSi3 sounds and feel great and reminds me so much of the 905S that i loved.

The Rundown:

Looks – Tie, both are incredible

Feel/Sound – Callaway Triple is more muted and sounds amazing, TSi3 feels like it has a little more pop off the face

Dispersion – Tie, both are great

Forgiveness  - Titleist seemed a little friendlier on mishits, this was hard to determine but it wins by a hair.

Distance – Callaway Triple was longer, I think the 1K is the reason not necessarily the head.  The shaft has some pop and you can feel it.

Winner – Neither 😜  well actually I should say the Mitsubishi Tensei 1K 60TX is.

New Big stick announced tomorrow but rest assured the Tensei 1K will be in it.  The shaft kicks like a mule through impact and on flightscope i'm getting similar dispersion as the Ventus Black but averaging another 2mph in ball speed.
