Dang I thought I was the only one with the seam issue on the XV! I picked up 4 dozen during their sale this year. I play yellow balls and after probably 1/2 round if I’m lucky it looks like a raised ring goes around the equator of the ball all the way around. I pitch it at that point bc that HAS to impact performance in the air. Good to know I’m not the only one with the issue. I’ve played Snell the last 3 years and only picked those Srixons up bc they were $20/dozen and I’ve never heard any complaints about them. I will not buy any more and will happily go back to the MTBX.

Yeah they have a real problem on their hands.  Snell MTB/X are great premium offerings and the price it's hard to beat.

Depending on how they're shipped, yes, but with exchange and the added shipping costs itself, you are in the same price range as walking into a store and purchasing the premium Bridgestone, Titleist, and/or Taylormade equivalents

That really stinks.  Maybe in time and with enough demand, SNELL can make some moves to change that.  With that said I can get the SNELL for the normal price and still chose the TP5X.  I'm very happy with the decision, the TP5X is checking all the boxes for me.

Fujikura Ventus Black 10TX hybrid shaft

So after 3 rounds and 4 practice sessions I'm fully on board the Ventus train.  It's been years since I've played a Fuji shaft but the Ventus line with Velocore has really impressed me.  This is also the first time I've played the same shaft from Driver to hybrid so that should tell you something.

Ventus Black hybrid-

Launch - Off the deck i get a nice mid launch and flight.  This is important to me because ballooning shots from 200+yds is no good.

Spin - Moderate spin going into greens and every shot that lands on the green stays there.

Feel - Feels like the driver and fairway wood shaft. Same consistent feel and kick.

Distance - Picked up about 5yds of carry over the Evnflow black due to better flight and spin

Dispersion - Great in this category.  Evnflow black had a left shot in it and the Ventus completely eliminated left.

The Ventus Black hybrid shaft is the perfect compliment to the Driver and fairway wood shafts if your playing them.  Basically if you like Ventus in your other woods you will like it in hybrid as well.  The velocore tech is doing it's job as i'm finding the center of the face more than Project X Evnflow black.  What i like about the shaft is I can use it off the tee and go hard without the dreaded hybrid hook.  I have YET to see that shot and it makes life much less stressful when i need a fairway finder that flys about 235-240yds.  I also have to give props to the Callaway Mav Pro head.  Such a performer and easy to hit off the deck and out of the rough.

My suggestion:

If you need help getting some height on hybrid shots I would check the blue out, if you are a faster speed player and or have a little more aggression in your transition the black is for you.  If you suffer from left shots then try the black, especially if you use hybrid off the tee a lot.

Nice.  I havent yet tried the ventus blacks in any woods or hybrid.  Any idea how it compares to the tensei white 100TX hybrid or the hm3 black tie 105x?  I have played those and liked them.  Any comment on the profile of the black on where it lies on stiffness in general?

Put my 757 Evo in my 410 LST, Rome 888 would've only played 43.25, 43.5 in my Original M2. Hit nothing but draws, even in flat setting. My fitter had a Ventus Black 70X in his Sim. He normally plays a draw, but couldn't turn it over. On our 2nd 9, he switched shafts and I put his Ventus in my M2, wow! Couple of bad swings, flipped my hands, stayed in play. Could aim down and make an aggressive swing. Ping felt more forgiving. Ping tip being installed on it today. Looking at getting one for the 3 wood as well... Also tried the TP5X. Been playing B330S, had a stash, but wanting to try a yellow ball, my eyesight is getting worse in my old age. Really liked it!

Haven't tried the white 100TX but i'm sure it's good.  Black tie 105X i had in a driving iron but it's not close to the consistency of Ventus.

That's a great way of putting it. Ventus seems like it makes the clubs more forgiving.  My strike patter on woods is better without a doubt and i'm hitting more fairways.  Can't ask for much more than that.

Its closer to the Hzrdus black.  Orange is way more counterbalanced and will produce a much lighter swing weight without adding it back to the head.  I'd say around 3pt SW difference.

You mentioned you were going to do testing with tipping but didn't see the results. My fitter stuck a tip on the shaft before I picked it up n he told me the wrong length that it was playing in his Sim, he forgot he had cut it down a half inch, so it's a half inch longer than I normally play. I'm trying to decide if I should tip it a half inch or butt cut it?

Great review on the Ventus Black Velocore hybrid. I've been looking at building a new driving iron with the 10X model and that may have been the final push that I needed to pull the trigger. I remember 2-3 months ago discussing the 2020 Aldila RIPx with you (and others) in another forum that you started. What a great shaft.. But shortly after that, I tried the Ventus Black Velocore in my driver and haven't looked back. I couldn't agree with you more on the forgiveness factor that the Ventus seems to bring into play. My driving accuracy has increased tremendously since the switch with slightly more distance. Awesome write up/review. Hope to share similar results trying the Hybrid shaft.

Happy to help and the Velocore tech with their enzo system is clearly doing something.  As a scratch player I know my ballstriking and where my weaknesses are and they are noticeably better with the Ventus.

Yes, I thought you said you were gonna do testing with different tipping on the Ventus Black, but I may have misread? My buddy that's playing it, swing speed similar to mine says it's so stable there's no point in tipping it. Really interested in the 10TX for my original Cally Apex 20*.

Ah gotcha.  I found the Ventus to need tipping to make it come alive, especially in a driver and fwy wood.  Of course everyone is different and the Black needs a little less than the Blue.  Blue I needed 1.5" tip to get it under control but ultimately moved to the Black which needed 1".

So just so happens a buddy of mine got a hybrid with the Tensei White 100TX.  Played with him twice this week as we are prepping for Maryland State matches.  Based on hitting it against my setup I'll give a down and dirty comparison.  Tensei White launches and spins a little less/lower than Ventus Black.  Ventus Black feels a little more active whereas the White feels more stout / one piece.  Accuracy was better with my  setup but really hard to compare as the other hybrid wasn't setup for me.  Overall both great options but I prefer a the higher flight of the Ventus as hybrid is a club for hitting greens on par 5's and I want high and soft.

A few quick pics of the bag as it stands through the winter.  My signature below is accurate for more detailed specs.  Also new 3 wood is a performer.  The Cally Mav SZ 13.5 is surprisingly friendly off the deck while maintaining lowish spin off the tee.
