How would you play this demanding par 4?

kinda agree with you, but every hole is going to look more benign on a summary sheet. I'd just aim down left edge of water and let it rip, water isn't in play even from the tips for me.

Driver then go for the green. I can get up and down from around the green. Even if I don't I just make my 5 and move on.

Try to drive the ball to a place between the white and yellow dots. If I make it, then its a short iron (remember to club up for the elevated green) to the center of the green. If I miss the fairway, just wedge it up to about where the red dot is. Another wedge onto the green, hopefully close enough to get the par, if not, take the bogey and walk off the #2 HCP hole +1 and be happy, knowing it could easily be a +3.

For a short knocker like me, I'm not playing the tips. So if I'm playing it was 420 or so, and I happen to hit one 240 (which is in the upper limit of my ability), and I have a good lie, I go for it. If I'm 200+ out, probably not, or I aim for the left front bunker and if I over cut it I still don't bring OB into play.

Eh...this looks straightforward?

For my yardage, 3w to the fairway and mid/short iron to the green. If it actually plays true to yardage, then maybe driver off the tee instead, but clearly it needs a fairway ball at the start to make par.
