PM Grind looks awesome, why not grooves all the way. Didn't Phil play Ping Eye 2 sand wedge, the shape is similar. I like it a lot...

Made to resemble the PING lob wedges he's used. Nice original design on sandblasting the entire face, along with adding scoring line throughout (for those dead, off the toe, floppers).

Really cool looking wedge and I'd probably give it a try, to see if there is any benefit there.

The tour grind wedge looks REALLY good!

I love this idea with the grooves. more area of the face to use when opening up the face and mentally worrying about hosel rockets. I like it!

You have to give it to Callaway, they do a great job of releasing specialty clubs to the public. This looks like a great option for someone who loved the old Ping Eye2 wedges but needs conforming grooves. I can also see it being useful for someone who struggles out of the sand or has a tendency to hit the dreaded hosel rocket. Personally, I don't think I could use it. The leading edge reminds me of the Edel wedges and I seem to skull everything with those things. Still, awesome release from Callaway!!

Why not go with the milled face that the other Mack Daddy's have....everything about the design sounds intriguing. I'll be getting one for sure. Any ideas on other finishes?

Interesting that it is cast rather than forged like the rest of the mack daddy 2 wedges. I think give one a go, I always open up my 60* and find that I do get a few shots out of the toe, so might be perfect for me

Actually I think the article stated that these are cast from 8620 carbon which is what the Vokey wedges are cast from. The Mack Daddy 2's and Tour Grind are both forged from 1020 carbon. Actually I was surprised to see they were cast. I'm curious to now if it's a design issue.

Cast instead of forged might be because it was too expensive/difficult to make a whole new die for only these oversized/specialty wedges.

I'm not sure what your definition of a "flash in the pan" is, but this wedge is an homage to a Ping design that's probably 30 years old!?

Love the concept, hate the bombs. They would have done the porting without the "fillings" and it would have looked better.
