Scotty Cameron great putters or bag bling?

Why post in capital letters at times? It's called emphasis - - look it up.
Why do you NOT use capital letters when you start a sentence? Did you go to school?
Saying "Ah.....yes I buy putters to impress" was TIC. -You may have to look that one up as well.
You're the one making little sense here. You're just too ignorant to realize it.
Look, if you would like to continue this "conversation" (if you'd like to call it that) via PM, I would be more than happy to do so. No need to drag everyone else down.
Besides, I don't know how much more you need to impress us here on your knowledge on Cameron, his products, milled versus cast, and your fantastic grammar.
I don't know how much more your ego and reputation can take.

(Would like to share my thoughts and hope I don't deviate too far from original questioning.)

To me what Scotty Cameron has done for putter marketing is amazing. Many have profited by following suit (i.e. 350$ + putter markets). Scotty Cameron has brand appeal and status in putter market maybe more than Callaway (90's) and Taylormade (2000's) driver market had/has. Most high school kids I see in my area have Taylormade drivers and Scotty Cameron putters. Is it because those clubs/brands work? Maybe, but I suspect its 50/50 at least with the putter... How many people get fit for their putters?

Regardless if Scotty Cameron pays all the pro's that play his putters, I am sure those putters are customized to exacting tolerances and well fitted to suit the pro's needs. The Cameron custom shop option is nice provided one has resources (time/$$). I just know that as I become more educated with putter fitting I expect more when choosing a pricey putter to play.

Personally, I collect Scotty Cameron putters but do not play one. I have always played an 8802, 8813, Ping BeCu Anser and Bobby Grace putters. I absolutely love a customized model 18 blade insert B.Grace putter I recently purchased. I have compared/tested Scotty Cameron Newport/GoLo's, etc to my old Anser's and current 18 Blade and just have not been able to find one that I roll consistent. Maybe down the road.

Best of luck finding an answer to this question, or changing anyone's opinion. In my mind, there are two parts to the question that will always polarize people. First is whether you can discern a difference in quality between a premium milled putter that sells for $300+ and one that retails for $100. If you feel there is a difference, the second question is which brand in that market segment speaks to you whether it be Scotty, Betti, or so on - there are a lot more than just Scotty selling putters for $300+ but his have become the face of the debate being the most heavily marketed and readily available. Are there people who will buy one because they feel it is bling and for prestige out on the course? Sure. In my mind an analogy is the Hummer (keep minds out ofthe gutter!), there are people who will buy a Hummer for prestige, never intending to use it to its full potential off road capabilities, using it just to drive around on city roads. in reality, you can find similar analogies pretty much anywhere you look.

The bottom line for me is that I personally own Scotty putters. While I'm the first to admit they don't make me putt like a pro, I do feel that with the ones I own, I bought on the basis that I putt better with them than the alternatives. If I picked up a $100 model that gave me the same or better results, I'd game it and be quite happy to do so. Incidentally though, I've also never paid full retail for a Scotty either. There are plenty of places you can find new or gently used Scotty putters for less than the off the rack rate if you know where to look and how to spot a fake.

Ok, to summarize:
T-MAC never said "anything not milled or made by SC sucks."
Thrillhouse is still hilarious.
TPdawnpatrol is weird.
And Freeze is angry about something.

I love Scotty Camerons I admire them and putt around with them every time I go into my golf shop. Very high quality for an OTR putter but unfortunately I am not able to play one. I have done a lot of putter experimentation especially with Scotty Cameron's and have found that works best is an anser style putter with rounded bumpers and a sight line. Unfortunately Scotty's new offerings don't include a putter like that and all of the older models that I've come across are either too rare to put in play (aka too expensive for me), beat up or restored to a different finish. If Scotty offered what I'm looking for I would use one no question.

I feel you there. While I love the SC shapes I can't buy my ideal putter at a sensible price. I want a Newport head with a sight line, long neck/face balance with adjustable weights. My solution is buying an older SC Newport 1.5 and having a LN welded on by a local builder. All of that should come in under the price of a new Cameron and much much less than a custom build or CT.

I actually decided to go custom build and the price actually was not that bad. I went with Lajosi and the price came out to be very similar to a brand new Cameron. Granted I went with a very basic customization but there are some affordable options out there if you know where to look. You can PM me if you want any more info on the pricing.

I'll do that, but I've looked into customs a little already. The main hang up is having adjustable weights. I like to use a heavier putter on slow greens, and lighter on normal summer greens. I think that's reverse of normal, but it works for me. It would be great to have one putter handle both situations.
