I recently just switched to the MTB Black and have loved them. Previously I was either rocking the Vice Pro and Pro Plus but I think the MTB Black is going to be my new gamer. I originally wanted to pick up the MTB-X but they were out of stock on their site and were gonna take a few more days shipping on Amazon so I settled with the black but its been great.

Can anyone clarify if the MTB-X logo is printed on the seam like it is on the Black? The yellow MTB-X I ordered last summer were not, wondering if that has changed over the last year. Thanks.

My partner and I made it to the two man better ball finals at our club and we played yesterday. It was probably the last important match of the year for me.  I wasn't sure which ball I'd play right up until we tee'd off. I went the MTB-X, even though I've only played a few rounds with it. I'm glad I rolled the dice.

I really can't find a flaw, besides the sound off driver, which I'm getting used to. Good chance I'll be loading up.

@Navistar thanks for the pic.  So white MTB-X and white MTB Black both do have logo printed on the seam.  Is that the same for yellow MTB Black and yellow MTB-X?  I know last year's yellow MTB-X did not have the logo printed on the seam.

It’s not on the seem for either the yellow x or black that I have.

I can't give up on the MTB-X. I enjoy playing the Get Sum. Played a round with the X a couple days ago and I'm long with the driver with the MTB-X. Blasted through one fairway on a dogleg left, landing 25 yards into the rough. No driver there anymore with the MTB-X for me off that tee. Don't know my swing speed. But, I get lusty length with that ball. Now that my 3-wood is back in the bag the par 5s at my course are in trouble.

Dean....anticipation ....the new ball!!! lol

well the process has certainly been slower than normal due to this damn covid deal...  Everything is slowing down, and even shipments have been tough to get on time as you can tell from some of the backorders we have had recently.  So I had to prioritize the workload and shipments at the factory, and put production first, then prototyping second... therefore, we are still working on the new golf balls, and will certainly keep you updated as we get closer.... but wont be anything new coming til sometime next year...

It just seems more noticeable. Higher pitch. Could just be me.

I've heard people complain about the sound of the Epic Flash Sub Zero driver.  I have one and never heard a bad sound from it and I use a large variety of golf balls.  That is until I teed up a ProV1.  Then the loud high pitched sound appeared.  Seems some clubs and some balls make a louder sound.  Sound is the last thing I care about when it comes to golf.  MTB-x in yellow is on my radar for next purchase.

I've been gaming the MTB-X for over 3 years now.  The price point is perfect especially when buying 5 or more boxes and they perform just as well as the AVX  which I also love but can't justify spending 50 bucks on.  I've hit some of my longest drives with the Snells.  They feel a bit harder than the AVX, but it doesn't bother me one bit.  If there's one thing I'm not too keen on is the durability of the optic yellow balls.  The cover seem to scuff quite easily when they hit cart paths or trees which unfortunately I'm prone to, lol.

Dean any comment on TXG video comparing the black and X? Seems to do opposite of what they were expecting. Long time black user here

First, a handful of shots is not statistically significant so take this with a grain of salt. With that said, their results actually align with what Dean has on the Snell website:

Balls were basically the same except X 7 iron spun few 100 rpm more.

Black actually spun a little more on wedge

The wedge spin difference was negligible (difference of 18 rpms in that small sample which is a 0.1% difference, basically identical). 7 iron spin reflected a difference of slightly less than 5% which would not be noticeable to most players. Again he did not hit a statistically significant number of shots so the human swing variability will be more prevalent.

Got a box of MTB-Black last week and played one round with it. My prior experience with MTB-X was good but the Black is DA BOMB.

Ubber soft and no loss of distance with the driver. Seems to be keeping up with the MTB-X and also my regular XV ball. I also like the iron flight of the Black a little better because it's lower. Being a picker, the high ball is the bane of my golf game. So far, Black is really nice for my irons.

Dean Snell - great job with both balls. Its gonna be HARD to pick a substitute for the XV (if Srixon does not FIX their ball in 2021)
