This isn’t very scientific. It’s 108 and humid right now so I don’t feel awesome hitting balls in the back yard. 
 

1st pic is driver with MTB-X, 2nd is BX. I just took the first 5 drives that felt solid. Yes, I spin the ball a lot. 
 

My first impressions:

-MTB feels great off the driver

-BX feels a little better off my irons and seems to go a little farther 

-Numbers are close for both

 

The MTB-X seems like a great ball. I’ll try them on the course for sure.

Glad to share some results. 
 

Couple things I’ll add… I won’t switch if my initial iron impressions hold true. It’s the strongest part of my game. 
 

And while saving money is awesome, I don’t lose enough balls to care. I’ll play whatever I think is better.

Wow, that's major backspin, you're giving up a lot of yardage. What driver are you using?

PXG Gen 4 0811X. I haven’t found a driver yet I don’t spin too much. So I just play what I hit well and don’t worry too much about it.
 

It’s my swing. At 39 years old, I have a bad back, one fake hip, and need the other one replaced. I do some goofy stuff to compensate. Thanks, Army.

Give the Tour edge Exotics C721 driver a try. It is one of if not the lowest spinning driver out there and is very forgiving.

The last we here on the forum have heard, and don't expect it to change anytime soon, the timeframe for the 5-pack is when production gets back to normal in the factories. The world is still having issues with COVID right now. So, it will happen when it happens.

As far as a discount, nope. They're inexpensive enough as it is. Support local companies! 🙂 (Snell is local to me, so do it!) LOL

Also, internet discounts for small boutique companies are not healthy. Why? All it takes is one "code" to get out in the wild, it will show up in "deal" websites or browser plugins that store such things, and you don't need to be a member to get a discount. There are bots that look and scour the internet for such things. Large companies, they can work well. Small? You'll be on the wrong side of the ledger in a heartbeat.

I have been testing out the mtb black vs the mtb-x for about five rounds and multiple chipping sessions against my current pro v1x gamer. Eventually I decided on the mtb-x, the difference between it and the pro v1x were indistinguishable for my game, and the value is much better on the Snell. Called and placed my order today, thanks @Snell Golffor making such a great product at an affordable price!

My experience was that the Black was not as long as the X and the Black did not spin like the X around the greens.  Both felt great off the driver, irons, wedges and putter.  What is surprising is that I dont care for anything X as my go to ball is the Bridgestone BX S.  The X and BXS were very similar to me so I will be buying 2 dz to play.

I have conducted a test with both the Snell MTB X and MTB compared to my current ball, 2016 Taylormade Tour Preferred ..... I have about one dozen left.  I am transitioning into the TP5 ball as well.  So far I am not sure I really like the Black (MTB) as much as the Red (MTB X).  The feel of the MTB X seems to be close to the feel of the Tour Preferred ball I am using and much softer than the other "X" balls from other makers (Tour Preferred X, TP5X, ProV1X, etc.).  Considering that I am still testing both the MTB and MTB X balls, I don't think I like the MTB as much as the MTB X.  I also think the MTB X is comparable to the Tour Preferred and TP5 I am using.  I will definitely consider using the MTB X going forward if the ball performs as it has been.  The real test will be different conditions, wind, when the weather gets cooler.

Just tried the MTB Black for the first time today. Love the feel of them off the putter, and it soared off the driver. Irons were great too. Good spin on the greens. I didn't think they would replace the TaylorMade Tour Response, but I think they will.

Just played my first round with some Snells from the sample back. I usually play Prov1, and was trying the MTB-X. Seemed very similar, carry distances and trajectories were normal for me. They need to fix the cover so that when I hit the pin from 168, the ball doesn't careen off the green lol. Definitely give the ball a thumbs up.

Well, not sure how long they will last, but for those looking for yellow MTB BLACK and yellow MTB X balls, we will be getting them in early next week.   If you are signed up for our emails, you should be seeing an email early next week when they are back on line.   Again, sorry for the 2 doz max, but these are very limited and we continue to be allocated in production.  Thanks again for your patience.   Things are starting to look a little better wrt supply in the near future.
