SNELL GOLF BALLS??? anyone???

Recommended Posts

I just got a new Evenroll ER5 putter as a birthday present from my beautiful wife. I have been spending a lot of time on the putting green working with the new putter and trying out a few golf balls including my personal favorite pro v1, Taylormade TP5, and Srixon Z star. Last night I threw a Snell MTB into the the mix. Out of this group of excellent balls there was one ball that keep seeming to find the hole more than the others. It also had the great feel of the Pro v. It was the Snell that I had gotten from a friend.

Today I ordered a dozen of Snells and I am anxious to try them on the course. I am hoping they can displace the Pro Vs as like many I am tired of paying $50 for a dozen balls.

Btw....the Evenroll putter is incredible and very much as advertised. The only new club in my bag I like better is my new Ping G driver w/ tour 80 shaft. Sweet!

I just picked up a Evnroll ER5 for my birthday last week. Played Saturday and Sunday with it and made 4 putts over 25 feet in 2 rounds. Maybe just a fluke but the 5-10 footers were falling with ease. I like this putter so much I am worried they will change it 5 years from now and maybe I should pick up another and put in storage. :fie:

Oh and the Snell MTB is money with all clubs in the bag.

Cobra F7+ - Stiff
Callaway V-Series 3 & 5 wood with Aldila Rouge Silver
Srixon 585 5-AW - Modus 105 Stiff
Ping Glide 2.0 Stealth 53 & 58 Degree

IF we were to have a new ball, would you prefer:

1. Increased spin with short irons and around greens in White only.

2. Increased spin with short irons and around greens but in YELLOW only

3. Lower spin with short irons and around greens in white only.

4. Lower spin with irons and around the greens but in YELLOW only

5. HIgher spin ball in both white and yellow

6. Lower spin ball in both white and yellow.

lets hear your comments... thanks....

Compared to the MTB or ??? Not sure what the baseline is....I'd like to see a MTBx, that isn't crazy firm, just slightly firmer then the MTB.

This is really what i would like, with a slightly lower flight. would be money.

thanks for the feedback... I did see some concerns about the price increasing if we go 4 layers, or yellow... as I said when we started, we will continue to work to keep the cost affordable for everyone while providing excellent performance...dont worry, I am on your side here.. :)

Thanks Dean! I think those of us who are playing the Snell balls trust you and whatever you decide will be great!

Dean,

i know its hard to improve on the MTB, but I know myself, low driver spin/higher wedge spin would sound great to me, not that it isnt already...would seem to be less of a increase in price factor..

I do find the innovate and improve vs being an actual company trying to make money trade off interesting too and look forward to upcoming offerings.

From a commercial POV is there any point to coming out with the next model, until a certain market awareness has been reached?

We'll all know, for example a 'new' 2018 MTB is different than the original and be all giddy at the shiny and new, but would it matter to punters who are only just learning about Snell or still don't know about it?

Anyways, like a handful or so of other industry folks who are active in here, always appreciate the info and I'll keep playing the MTBs alongside the 330s and remaining Lethals :)

Hey mr snell,

I know you recently said big news is coming, I'm assuming a new ball?? I like the MTB but used to play the provx when I did play it. Was wondering if anything new is soon because I need to order but don't want to have a backlog of MTB is something comes right out after to try!! Thanks

figured i'd share my experience today. Buddy of mine was playing with a Snell MTB and hit a low stinger mishit off the tee box. Couldn't of been more than 2 ft off the ground. Full speed hit one of the poles that holds the rope that shows a ground under repair or just to show the way of the cart path no more than 50 yards away. . Ball hits it and launches about 60 yards to the right off the cart path and into the brush. We found the ball and there was zero indications that this ball had hit anything. I was surprised the cover proved to be this durable. Could of been just a lucky case, but he played the rest of the round with that same ball. Still looks great

Thanks for comment and outstanding point... We are in the process of testing head to head with current MTB v new models launched this year, and we have still yet to find something in the testing that is outperforming the MTB... this balls has been great from tee to green and fits a lot of people for sure... I am not saying we will replace it.. but we have been taking feedback and are looking to address some concerns from some players to try to open up new performance areas for larger groups of players.. but the MTB is not going to be replaced... this would be adding to the line to address more players...

#6. Love the MTB but I think a slightly lower spin ball would be great and if it was available in yellow too I'd play it all year. I play the MTB and TP5x in the warmer months and Srixon XV yellow in the winter. I feel like I get a little more distance with the TP5x because it seems to be lower spin

Dean,

Thanks for the reply, and I'm very glad to hear this. The MTB has been a very good ball for me, and I was a little worried that a new MTB was coming around. I like this ball just the way it is.

Since you are asking, how about a lower compression tour ball for slower swing speed players. In direct competition to Chrome Soft, Bridgestone RX / RXs and Srixon 333 Tour (Q Star Tour). Qualities: soft feel (not mushy), low driver spin, higher mid iron spin and tour level wedge spin, priced between MTB and Get Sum.

I found a MTB today while playing a tournament. Pulled a drive left and while searching for my RZN black, there was the Snell. I've heard a lot of good things about them, so I went ahead and played it for the remainder of my round. I'm not good enough to tell you much about the spin and such, but I can say it felt good! I will definitely be buying a dozen next time I order more balls!

Done.

From a fellow Masshole / one to the other, you're doing great. I'm all the way in San Diego where I live now and a lot of people use them out here. Nothing but love from the West Coast for Snell.

I used my first MTB yesterday and was 2ft away from an Eagle on a Par 3 175 yarder (Hole in one for the lamen...). I look forward to future developments and using more Snell Product.

Nice to hear on your Evnroll. My wife and I played Sunday and she commented that my putting has really improved. You are right on the Snells. Very nice! Also played an Oncore Elixr from my trial pack on the front nine. Excellent ball. I am going to give both a few more rounds but one of them is going to displace my Pro Vs.

Mr. Snell (and other fans of Snell balls)...here's a thought. What would be the marketability of a ball that was between the feel and performance of the two existing Snell models? This is just a thought. I have played both balls just in the last few months and have played my best, overall, golf with both. I tend to hit the Get Sum a little high with the irons. FWIW (and market analysis) I'm about a 12, weekend warrior player. (probably a big market segment)

Best of luck with the new ball.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestion. Your comment is one of the 6 models I had listed.. MTB his a higher spinning ball on irons and around the green.. so higher spinning shots also means lower launch angle off the face... GET SUM is higher launching, and lower spinning, so your testing is spot on... thanks again, and we will continue to work to make new protos as well.

Dean should put you on salary. You've had high praise for this ball. Glad to hear you've found something that works for you.

I just ordered a dozen MTB so I can finally see what all the fuss is about. I'll post again once I've tried them out.
