Best New Driver for 2015 - Give me your opinions

The best I've hit so far this year is the r15 460 TP with the 661 Evo ts. So long and surprisingly forgiving. Feels and sounds good also.

How is the fly z+ stock shaft way too light? (I'm assuming you mean the VLCT stock and not the tour blue or tour green)
Yes I am referring to the VLCT shaft. They only had it in stiff flex when I hit it. I know it says 65 grams with installed swing weight of D4, and maybe it has something to do with my drivers usually being set up at D7, but the stock stiff flex shaft when paired with whatever weight they have in the head off the rack, felt very light. I felt like I lost track of it in my swing a little bit and that the flex of the shaft felt pretty "whippy". Like I said, I know the shaft is 65g and the swingweight is apparently D4.
Ok, cause every driver I look at has a shaft that is around 65g (at cut length) in drivers. Obviously there are other stock options nowadays in most drivers that are heavier/lighter. I have a Fly Z+ coming this week that I'm hoping to try on Saturday or Sunday. I'll come back with my thoughts (and some weights of components).

Make sure to test all the Vapor drivers, they are really good. Other than that I agree with the 915 being posted on here. My three lines to check out and you will find a winner among the selection are:

1. Nike Vapor series
2. Titleist 915 series
3. Cobra Fly series

Try those and you won't have to go anywhere else, there is something for everyone in that grouping.

Of the drivers I have tested, the standouts were the Cobra Fly Z+, Cleveland CG Custom, and the 815 Alpha and DBD. The Cobra definitely spun the least for me, albeit all of them were with stock higher spin shafts. The 815's felt incredible and I think the CG Custom will be a sleeper driver that won't garner the attention that it really deserves. I haven't tried the G30 drivers yet or the 915's, but hope to in the coming month.

Looks like you can ask 10 guys and get 10 different answers on what they feel is best.

Question for you that have tried many of these new drivers. Where are you going to try these out ? Local box store? Or are you able to try them at your club?
Both. Range at the course I play when I'm in Texas, and when I am in Chicago its at a box store, but now that it has been warming up enough I've been hitting some of the stuff I liked at the stores outside. Also, Cool Clubs is pretty sweet.

it has to be the fly z plus. The longest of the bunch is the big bertha dbd, but it lacks a lot in forgivness. The z plus is almost as long almost as low spinning but packs a massive punch in forgiveness. I would argue on of the best drivers i have ever hit.

Gaming the R15 now and loving it! I'm a driver ho and ice burned thru the Nike Covert, the Covert 2, the R1, and the G30 in the last several months..... The G30 was my least favorite as it just didn't feel right with any other shaft except the stock and I hated that shaft. The R15 feels amazing....can't explain it but it feels how a driver is supposed to feel and holy #%*• does it get out there. I'm a 98-105 mph guy and it's he longest driver I have ever hit.

The Fly Z+ head is great. I would definitely put it towards the top of a Best of 2015 list. I just think a shaft in the 70 gram range would make it even better.

My top 3 are all extremely close in performance (for me, YMMV). Shafts listed are those I actually tested.

1A. Tour Edge E8 Beta (Own) (Rogue Silver 70 X, swapped it out for Silver 70 TX 125 MSI).
1B. Cobra Fly Z + (Tour Blue 80 X -- alternative stock shaft available at no upcharge). Do not like the two light/whippy VLCT stock shaft.
1C. Ping G30 LS Tec (Tour 65 X)

[GAP]

4. Callaway DBD (Speeder 665 X; Diamana D+ 82 X). Not quite as low spinning as the E8 Beta or Fly Z+, but close. Not as long, but close, Not as accurate, but close. You get the idea . . .
5. Callaway XR Pro (Speeder 665 X). Results extremely close to DBD.
6. Titleist 915 D3 (Diamana D+ 70). Similar to (in terms of size. shape, classic appearance), but just slightly less impressive in all performance dimensions than E8 Beta.

Demoted my 430 SLDR for the G30 LST/BB7 about 5 weeks ago while hiding from winter in the Palm Springs area .... distance is the same or better than my SLDR, you will also notice the LST has incredible forgiveness on off center hits!

Had to make a few swing adjustments, no need to Tee the ball as far down like the SLDR and the S/S on the LST is just above center, where it should be! Once you get past the looks of the Turbulators, only think you need to get accustom to is the sound, the Ping's ... ping .... sure is loud.

Have both .... BB7 & DI6 Stiff from a Titleist 913 which I tipped 5/8" .... I imagine the DI7x tipped 1" would preform similar to a BB7.

So after weighing the Fly Z+ and BCP, the shafts are same weight. However, the head of the Fly Z+ is 4.5g - 6g lighter (I have two Fly Z+ heads). The Fly Z+ came in at 196.6 - 197.9. My BCP is 202.3g.

I hit my best drives ever with the XR pro with stock Project x 6.0 shaft at 8*. Lowest spin and tightest dispersion compared to all of the new stuff that's out. I'm 6'4 so the trend of longer shafts doesn't bother me so I usually stick with stock shaft. The XR pro was the diamond in the rough for me. I never thought I'd game a Callaway driver but this just works for me.

I'd have to say the cobra fly z. Whether it's a one night stand or honey moon stages. I couldn't believe the numbers I was getting compared to the Xr, big berths, aeroburner, and My covert 2.0.
